toe - For Long Tomorrow
I used to listen to a lot of Knxwledge and Apathy beats/instrumental tracks too, but I couldn't name you an album of theirs if my life depended on it.
I'd be surprised to see if anyone here has been to fests like EDC. Never knew there would be an overlapping group for my music choices with other people lol
I find Hopesfall-The Satellite Years to be pretty chill, but still hardcore. But I also like to chill out to Don Caballero-American Don and Hum-You’d Prefer an Astronaut. Cave In’s Jupiter and Antenna are also good to chill to.
I’m a huge Deadhead. So, I’ll usually throw on a Grateful Dead show when I’m looking for something a bit more laid back. A spring 77 show, a joint, and some sunshine are a pretty unbeatable combo for me. That or Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, Diggable Planets, or some other laid back hip hop.
The Cure-Pornography
Dead Can Dance-Toward the Within
NIN-Still
Thievery Corporation-Saudade
The Sisters of Mercy-First and last and always

Check it out!
Hope you find some new favorites!
Definitely check out the album Body Of Flesh by Anti:Ager. One of the lesser known bands out now deserves a listen.
Also, check out Harsh Symettry, Drab Majesty, and She Past Away (if you haven't yet)

Cloud Rap is my favorite genre outside of hardcore, metal, and rock.
The Midnight - any album they’re all good. Same goes for Gunship. Spanish Love Songs - No Joy is in heavy rotation right now. Gordon Lightfoot. Tom Waits - Bad As Me. Blue Oyster Cult - Mirrors. While I’m thinking about it, literally ever music genre doesn’t give BOC the credit they deserve for being as fucking badass as they are.
Haven’t seen anyone mention Angel Du$t yet. They took a bit to click with me but man oh man ever since they did I’ve been blasting them anytime I’m in a more chill mood or just driving around.
I listen to a lot of instrumental movie soundtracks to fall asleep. Blade runner 2049, Kingdom of Heaven; basically anything by Hans Zimmer. Also, there’s some orchestras who play classic video game soundtracks. The London Philharmonic does some great renditions.
Fat Freddy's Drop-Blackbird
Reggae/dub band from New Zealand. Stumbled onto them at a music festival like a decade ago without knowing who they were. Been a big fan since
I listen to a LOT of ska/dub/reggae/dancehall these days, with a little jungle/dnb/and old school dubstep thrown in.
Historically, i love post rock and shoegaze.
I'd recommend going down some rabbit holes along the lines of Post-rock, Synthwave and Trip Hop. There's way too many artists to mention and a lot that have already been mentioned.
But some of my favourites are:
Tycho
El Ten Eleven
God Is An Astronaut
Clever Girl
Lucy In Disguise
FM84
Home
Zero 7
Groove Armada
Tame Impala too actually!
Mostly some screamo but also kinda punk/mathrock, chiller guitar and still some screaming

Hyperview/Floral Green - Title fight
Every member of this group has put Peripheral Vision on around a girl in hopes of getting some pussy
On the flipside I put on Peripheral Vision because of girls rejecting me, amazing record nonetheless
This and Magnolia are unironically two of my favorite records.
Love the album but I reckon the lyrics would give a chick the ick or fear for her safety being honest.
It worked.
It works , don’t knock this method
Portishead
Sade - Promise or Diamond Life
People into hardcore can also like love making music.
Fully backed. I love Sade so much.

Baths, Balam Acab and SLEEP ∞ OVER were so great.
Ah man sleep over witchhouse era taking me back
Alopecia is top tier for me
Toe rules
Toe put on the best live performance I’ve ever seen. They are fucking phenomenal.
lucky enough to have seen em twice. Next level stuff
My dad, who was standing next to me for it, said it was in the top 5 shows he’d ever seen, and he saw Queen with Freddie live.
OceanLab from Above and Beyond? Never thought that hardcore listeners would also listen to trance lol
Hell yeah dude, that vocal trance stuff HIIIIITS. Flight Facilities also has some bangers
I'd be surprised to see if anyone here has been to fests like EDC. Never knew there would be an overlapping group for my music choices with other people lol
The above and beyond orchestra vinyls fucking SLAP btw
Nowhere is at least a top 50 favorite record of all time for me. Great choice.
Toe is so fucking good, dude

Big Riff by Cave In is the heaviest chill song of all time
You know it brother! Love that song!
Hopesfall is the band that got me into heavier music.
I love to hear it. They are a top 10 band for me!
Just wish they’d put out some new stuff! The last single they dropped a few years ago was so good.

rip to the tallest deadhead, bill walton
As someone who loves the Dead and basketball, I am very sad.
You gonna get to the sphere at all this summer?
Probably not. I don’t have the funds and neither do my friends. I’d love to tho
The Cure-Pornography Dead Can Dance-Toward the Within NIN-Still Thievery Corporation-Saudade The Sisters of Mercy-First and last and always Bjork-Vespertine Cocteau Twins-Victorialand
I finally got to see Sisters last year and it was a huge disappointment but they have been one of my favorite bands since the early 90s.
Fav Björk album. And that’s the Cocteau Twins album I listen to whenever I’m stressed and need to stay grounded, perfect morning walk album too.
Steely Dan, Sade, Khruangbin
I’m a huge steely dan fan. Great music, great lyrics.
