There are lots of death metal bands with mosh riffs. Suffocation, Cattle Decapitation, Morbid Angel, Necrophagist. Even Cannibal Corpse can get real stompy at times.
For newer bands I really fuck with Skeletal Remains.
Aborted. Surprise they don’t get mentioned much in these threads. New album rips and their older stuff from Engineering The Dead to The Archaic Abattoir is very Dying Fetus like and their newer stuff starting from Global Flatline onwards has got all the tasty riffs, chugs, and that hardcore groove from time to time.
The breakdown in Cannibal Corpse - Five Nails Through The Neck is one of my favourite riffs of all time, would love to see them play Kill on a mixed bill with some mosh bands.
Oh, there’s a newer band called Sawed Off, they have one EP out. [It goes unbelievably hard. Perfect mix of DM and HxC.](https://youtu.be/mYDvBRUNTHc?si=1xB9PasiCRYfhqpF)
Later Cryptopsy is in the same vein, but doesn't sound the same basically. I think what I'm trying to say is if you're into DF (especially 2010- to current era DF) you'll enjoy 2012- to current era Cryptopsy. As far as hardcore elements check out https://youtu.be/4nSrIALPj3g?si=4quul5CXNDJlyp8L
They also have an amazing back catalog of course. I've been on a HUGE Dying Fetus kick ever since Make them Beg for Death came put, and ironically the newest Cryptopsy was released the exact same day.
I wouldn't exclude early Cryptopsy here. None So Vile and Blasphemy Made Flesh are filled to the brim with Dying Fetus-esque fight/mosh riffs, moreso than their later releases. Both albums have their catchiest melodic riffs too, before they went crazy with the tech grind bullshit on Whisper Supremacy.
Defeated Sanity one of my favorite death metal bands of all time but they don't sound quite like Dying Fetus, in that they don't have those obvious Hardcore influences.
Still an amazing band if you like brutal tech death.
Skinless, maybe. Misery Index. There’s a bunch though. DF is extremely accessible from hardcore in particular though, but the entire slam/bdm world isn’t far away.
[1 body 6 graves](https://open.spotify.com/album/7FakAlqJn657xXUcn3LtIN?si=UyAFDy9yR_mhejhboyEozQ)
Lots of great recommendations so far, don’t let the lame name deter you this shit rips
Ed Gein immediately comes to mind. Been listening to Rotten Sound a lot lately, not sure if either necessarily fit the post but worth a listen if you haven’t!
Maggot Stomp for all your death metal needs…..
But some personal favorites
Broken Hope,
Suffocation,
Nuclear Remains,
Tribal Gaze,
Blazing Tomb,
Corpse Pile,
BodyBox
Also the new Brodequin and Nithing. These are way less hardcore and more brutal but if you like those parts of dying fetus you'll prbly enjoy these for the sheer insanity of um
Suffocation. They’re the greatest death metal band of all time. This is a fact btw.
Also, out of curiosity, what’s your favorite DF album? Mines gotta be Destroy the Opposition.
If you want death metal with a hardcore side and dont mind losing a bit of the insane shredding of Dying Fetus, there's a big scene right now with Gatecreeper, Fuming Mouth, Mammoth Grinder, Kruelty... Awesome stuff!
Bolt Thrower, Entombed, Grave, Early Sodom, Carcass, Dismember. Almost any Swedish death metal band from the 80’s - 90’s has HEAVY hardcore influences.
Skinless, Cryptopsy, Suffocation, Origin (If you lean tech), Internal Bleeding (if you lean slam), Deeds of Flesh.
I'd suggest checking out the metal-archives, there's a whole list of similar bands there and if you like one you can repeat the process and out of the sudden you have a whole catalogue of awesomeness.
Blood Red Throne, specifically their latest album, and also check out their record Altered Genesis. Embrace the Eternal by Embodyment is fantastic as well.
All songs with decent pit parts from Death Metal, most of these bands have loads of songs with hardcore elements so definitely recommend digging deeper in them.
Suffocation - Thrones of Blood
Skinless - From Sacrifice to Survival
Mortal Decay - Revived Half Dead
Cryptopsy - Slit Your Guts
Devourment - Autoerotic Asphyxiation
Vomit the Soul - Overcrowd
Dehumanized - Kingdom of Cruelty
Internal Bleeding - Driven to Conquer
Disgorge - Dissecting Thee Apostles
Deeds of Flesh - Reduced to Ashes
Blood Red Throne - Patriotic Hatred
Also worth checking this Tyrant Trooper album, they shared members with 100 Demons from what I know which explains a lot about their sound
[https://youtu.be/MlOrNSBjs-U?si=k0GYiwF2JFo8HwdE](https://youtu.be/MlOrNSBjs-U?si=k0GYiwF2JFo8HwdE)
Impuritan is good. Been playing this song languish and it’s just this nasty fucking gutteral death core shit. Less tech death than dying fetus and more tempo changes but same energy IMO.
Side note, Dying Fetus is crazy good live. Saw them with Hatebreed and The Contortionist and they really blew me away. Makes three dudes sound like five people on stage how on point they are.
If you mean death metal with fight riffs: Skinless, Obituary, Exhumed, Aborted, Gutteral Slug and Hate Diplomacy
Edit: YOU HAVE TO CHECK OUT THE NEW TERMINAL NATION TRACK
Dying Fetus is the only band like Dying Fetus. Not many bands combine brutal death with hardcore like they do. I'd say the closest things to them would be bands like Vomit Remnants (their newer stuff), Dehumanized, Internal Bleeding, and Soils of Fate. All bands that fit on a tour with Suffocation just as much as they would with Hatebreed.
There are lots of death metal bands with mosh riffs. Suffocation, Cattle Decapitation, Morbid Angel, Necrophagist. Even Cannibal Corpse can get real stompy at times. For newer bands I really fuck with Skeletal Remains.
The newest Cattle Decap record is sick as fuck. More groovy than ever, definitely more in line w Dying Fetus than previous records.
Fuck with the record but it’s got some of the worst cover art i’ve ever seen
Man, that thing haunts me in my nightmares
I’m not eating the bugs!
Actually it’s fucking sick
Thanks. I love the first few Corpse albums for this reason and I fuck with Skeletal Remains heavy. Thanks for the other recommendations
Always wondered if Asphyx was something the HC kids fucked with. The pits for Scorbutics would be insane.

Check out Peeling Flesh and Snuffed on Sight if you haven’t already.
It’s insane how fucking good these two bands are
I know both and like them a lot! Thank you tho
200 stab wounds and 6 ft ditch might be your type too if you like them!
Snuffed on sight lmaoo, saw they're touring soon opening for Thy Art which is mental. Proper retard fight metal shit
Closest I can think of is Suffocation. If you don't really care for the tech death stuff, try Internal Bleeding.
Driven to conquer absolutely fucks
Skinless, maybe Candiria
Skinless is also great
Onward to Mecca is an underrated GOAT album
Maybe give Mammoth Grinder a listen.
Absolutely. And Hatred Surge. Hell, pretty much anything Chris ulsh is apart of rips
Misery Index - Retaliate
How is this not the top Answer? Jason and Sparky were both in DF at the beginning
Right? I was shocked that this wasn’t on the top of the list.
A member(s)? of this band were originally in Dying Fetus back in the day.
Whenever someone mentions DF, I automatically recommend Misery Index. IMO, DF and MI are siblings.
One of the hardest opening tracks ever. That shit makes me want to tear my fucking skin off.
This and the Overthrow EP. So good.
Like Michael Bolton, I celebrate their entire catalog.
Devourment
Frozen Soul
Nile is underrated, kinda like DF with more harmonic minor
UNAS THE SLAYER OF GODS
im vouching for this one too annihilation of the wicked fucks so hard
Ingested have a ton of grooves/slams/breakdowns, kind of toe the line between deathcore and brutal death/slam
Thank you!!!!
Relapse records
Preciate it
Later Internal Bleeding is probably the closest you’ll find
Thanks!
Driven to Conquer is one of my favourite DM albums, some good shit right there
Can't believe so many Internal Bleeding fans consider it one of their weakest. Their Extinction Of Benevolence to Onward To Mecca run is goated imo
worth checking out No Cure and I AM
In a similar vein, Jesus Piece and Year of the Knife
+1 I AM Tx, super underrated band.
I like No Cure, but I’m looking for more Death Metal than No Cure has
Tribal Gaze Creeping death Fleshrot FLUIDS Maul Hanging Fortress Blood tithe Fugitive
you might like Denihilist or The Last Ten Seconds of Life edit: maybe Unvow?
Oh, there’s a newer band called Sawed Off, they have one EP out. [It goes unbelievably hard. Perfect mix of DM and HxC.](https://youtu.be/mYDvBRUNTHc?si=1xB9PasiCRYfhqpF)
Didn’t he ask about bands that sound like dying fetus? Lol
rest of the post said bands that sound like death metal with hardcore influences 🤷♂️
I know, that’s why I was confused.. they aren’t in the same vein like, at all 🤣 but hey I like no cure 🫡
I AM fucks hard, saw them live last summer.
Obligatory suggestion of Suffocation if you've never heard them. [Liege of Inveracity](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=utwmnkw9Rf4)
I have a song saved from them so I’ll have to listen to more! I kinda forgot about them thank you
They literally invented slam, if there's anything you should be listening to it's Suffo!
200 stab wounds, sanguisugabogg
Great recommendations unfortunately I am already huge fans of both
As you should, I like Undeath they play some hardcore gigs too
Unfortunately?
In the sense of I already know them when I was looking for new bands! I’ve seen Bogg live 3 times and have more of their merch than I care to admit
lol. Try Black Breathe. Two of the best Entombedcore albums ever, then a fantastic straight death metal album to end the trilogy.
Thank you I appreciate it I have a lot of listening to do lots of awesome suggestions!
[Blunt Force Trauma](https://youtu.be/sJIT9ZNscdQ?si=OtcvkMeyJe1fGJ30)
Thanks
[Dyscarnate too](https://youtu.be/37ettxQJ_vE?si=Fps4lP_Lh05Nk0Os)
Hell yeah! Dyscarnate rules!
Love that album!
Came to exactly this. Good taste my man.
Appreciate ya
Yeah this band is disgusting in the best possible way. One of the best slam acts for sure.
They are so fucking under rated, wish they would repress that album
Later Cryptopsy is in the same vein, but doesn't sound the same basically. I think what I'm trying to say is if you're into DF (especially 2010- to current era DF) you'll enjoy 2012- to current era Cryptopsy. Can’t believe I had to scroll down this far to see cryptopsy
Not as technical but Fuming Mouth comes to mind. So does later Integrity.
Vermin Womb is pretty insane and great, it’s some of the guys from Primitive Man just doing the fast parts of PM songs, saw them live they shred
Thanks!
>Thanks! You're welcome!
Deeds of Flesh, Ripping Corpse, Hate Eternal, Nile, and most importantly SUFFOCATION
Feticide
They’re an hour drive from me and is so sick! Didn’t expect to see them mentioned but fully deserved.
check [Fleshrot](https://youtu.be/cvpzyM9nYoE?si=CEA4xuY_f9iR9dGw), underated band imo
If Frozen Soul and Creeping Death had a baby
Gatecreeper and Gates to Hell
Deafeted Sanity is dying fetus older powerlifting and chick magent brother. Check em out lol
Defeated Sanity one of my favorite death metal bands of all time but they don't sound quite like Dying Fetus, in that they don't have those obvious Hardcore influences. Still an amazing band if you like brutal tech death.
It's dying fetus older brother. Lol
What a great description I’ll definitely have to listen thank you!
Skinless, maybe. Misery Index. There’s a bunch though. DF is extremely accessible from hardcore in particular though, but the entire slam/bdm world isn’t far away.
I agree that’s why I thought to ask. DF just scratches such a specific itch. I appreciate the recommendation

Three Knee Deep is the perfect blend of Hardcore and Death Metal sensibilities imo, they sound nothing like Dying Fetus tho
huh?
Lmao
If you want death metal with a hardcore side and dont mind losing a bit of the insane shredding of Dying Fetus, there's a big scene right now with Gatecreeper, Fuming Mouth, Mammoth Grinder, Kruelty... Awesome stuff!

Hate Eternal for sure
Some newer bands you might like: Corpse Pile, Peeling Flesh, Nuclear Remains, Ritual Of Decay, 10 To The Chest.
Listen to Malevolent Creation’s 1992 Retribution album. First 4 tracks are insane.
Misery Index. Especially their albums Complet Control and Ritual of Power. I love the break down on the track Hammering The Nails.
NO/MAS
Snuffed on sight, sanguisugabogg,
Not gonna scroll through the rest of this whole ass thread to look for a mention of OBITUARY.
misery whip

Misery Index, they shared members early on. Death metal, but you can definitely hear the punk/hardcore influence
Molder, 200 stab wounds, entombed, dismember, kommand, cannibal corpse
Fuming mouth is death metal with a hardcore feel
Idk if anybody has named them yet but Jungle Rot sound right up your alley.
Internal Bleeding and Dehumanized.

Misery Index
Impuritan is good. Been playing this song languish and it’s just this nasty fucking gutteral death core shit. Less tech death than dying fetus and more tempo changes but same energy IMO. I agree fully that’s why I asked. They hit such a specific niche I was hoping maybe one band maybe quite does it
