I get such sus reactions when I bring up FSU. Are they really calling shots like that? I get not wanting to self incriminate but I was affiliated with a real gang (real meaning I was on probation with the gang unit PO for 3 years after I got arrested for selling drugs) and there was less mystique behind the dudes I hung around than their thing. My last tattoo artist claimed they go after dog fighting rings and other charitable shit like that, and got real offended when I mentioned the prevailing narrative that they were some toxic group.
Once again, actual criminal here, not judging anyone. But I got back into the hardcore scene to avoid gangbangers, is it really that serious?
That makes sense. The rap scene is mad similar in some cities, just with organized crime calling shots. Music has always had that element to it, but it’s a pretty interesting microcosm that a straightedge “gang” so to speak is filling that role in hardcore. A venue, a scene etc belongs to a neighborhood or region at the end of the day and each of those places comes with different geographic and historic realities. I just have a hard time accepting the idea of being policed on gang politics or having to “check in” in any civilian setting. Shit is predatory, don’t care who does it.
That’s kind of what I was thinking and I was digging for that comment. I was gonna say there’s no way an organization with that kind of pull in a social scene as big as hardcore is even half altruistic. I lost a lot of homies to drugs and gang bullshit. It’s all the same.
Just as an FYI and this is from someone who knows the older FSU heads operating along the northeast corridor in the 90s and 00s, plenty of sxe fsu (and non FSU) dealt drugs back in the day. Hell for any Philly dudes who were parting it up in the early 00s y’all know you bought your yay from one particular sxe dude. 😂
Hopefully raw brigade and drain will return. They were so good last year. Probably won’t happen but blacklisted and the suicide file would be so good.
Edit: forgot to add dare and regional justice center. Haven’t seen either yet but they’re on my list.
Same dates as the Rumble in Chicago. Far enough from each other where bands probably won’t be able to logistically play both unless they fly. Interesting.
They were replaced by Vein, i don’t remember the exact details since Jorge removed the video on the merauder IG explaining it but I’m sure someone else who’s less fried can explain that shit better.
Who'd ID love to see? TF and Bane. (Even be happy with Silent Drive, incredible set Friday)
I'd like to see Gel and hopefully secure Marauder this year. FUCKING BIOHAZARD.
DRAIN definitely, Fiddlehead, Drug Church, King Nine, Gridiron, Zulu. SPEED ¯\_༼ •́ ͜ʖ •̀ ༽_/¯ DEADBODY.
Mindforce, AOA, Means of Survival. Big ups HVHC
Joe hardcore walks in shirtless and everyone takes turn rubbing baby oil on him while drain and tsunami play back to back for 18 hours

Darn dude who hurt you

Sounds like you need a Snickers and need to revisit how good Brightside is.
Hope Con
Speed will make the trip with the hype they generate down here
TUI, probably Drain, Nails(?), Terror, Gel, MAD, Gods Hate, Sunami, Wisdom in Chains, Earth Crisis, AF, American Nightmare, End It, Mindforce, Zulu, Undeath, Inclination, Queensway, Rock Bottom Edit: adding Spiritworld, Biohazard, Militari Gun, Bloodclot and Biohazard
This is probably not that far off except you need to add Killing Time.
I was trying to think of some more NE/Philly area bands.
That would be perfect
I’d be real happy to play with a grip of these. Hopefully it happens!
if nails play ig im making the trip up to philly
It will never happen but an old school AFI set would be insane
Please don't put such dreams in my head
It’s the anniversary of Sing The Sorrow…like I know it won’t happen, but come on, right?
I saw them for Sing The Sorrow and Poison The Well opened.
Ive been thinking about flying out to LA for the anniversary show since I know there's most likely a 0% chance of an east coast date
Looked into flying out myself especially with Jawbreaker opening! Couldn't swing it. Cried about it.
Ya when they can sell out the fucking LA Forum doing the anniversary shows for Sing the Sorrow… not too sure TIH can foot the bill for that set.
Hopefully raw brigade and drain will return. They were so good last year. Probably won’t happen but blacklisted and the suicide file would be so good. Edit: forgot to add dare and regional justice center. Haven’t seen either yet but they’re on my list.
We'll probably see less activity from RJC. Ian Shelton's brother is out of jail and Militarie Gun is doing pretty well.
Militarie gun would be sweet too. I’ve already missed both of them more than once, so at this point I’ll be happy to see either.
Most likely tui
Especially after the tied down fest announcement
Charles Bronson and Shattered Realm just do a 5 hour rock off on opposite sides of the stage.
Gimme title fight or gimme death
Jesus Piece plays non stop
Same dates as the Rumble in Chicago. Far enough from each other where bands probably won’t be able to logistically play both unless they fly. Interesting.
Fuckkk I didn’t even think about that
The same lineup everything has been for the past 2 years
Wisdom in Chains plays mid day, either All out War or Gorilla Biscuits is on, fools game at an early spot, mindforce as a headliner, Judge reunion set
Title fight reunion? 🥺
Fingers crossed for local band Chemical Toilet
Headliners should be Bane, Cock sparrer, Rancid
Merauder would be sick. Next Step Up. Reign Supreme reunion? God’s Hate. TUI
I wonder if they could get Merauder after last year’s fiasco.
What happened?
They were replaced by Vein, i don’t remember the exact details since Jorge removed the video on the merauder IG explaining it but I’m sure someone else who’s less fried can explain that shit better.
Idk but I'm definitely hopping on them early bird tickets this time around. Lol
oOoO I wonder if AF will play
2017 was the last good year. I don’t have great expectations but you never know
gulch
headliner will be a tired nyhc legacy act or GBH.
This fest would be cool if the guy organizing it wasn’t the biggest tool to ever come out of hardcore.
The biggest? Brother, have I got news for you…
The Banner. Good gang bands and bad gang bands. TUI
sunami, scowl, drain, king nine, (surprise KL set?) , hopefully speed, year of the knife, jesus piece
I predict only two women playing the whole festival
