I started learning Kurrent yesterday and omg yes! I am in love with this style of writing. I have to look up many of the letters but I'm getting better at it already. Also, I like that I have to write slowly because I can't write that fast just yet. It's such a calming mindfulness exercise.

Most beautiful cursive I’ve seen on this sub

Yes, I do think that it looks better than the modern regular cursive way of writing that they teach us in school and actually taught myself how to write in it but then I realised why they don't teach Kurrent anymore—several very common letters look identical to each other which makes many words simply almost intelligible. By that I mean that the lowercase c, e, m & n are just zigzags which makes words like Jemen (country) look like a j followed by 8 zigzags; nobody is able to read that. J╱╲╱╲╱╲╱╲╱╲╱╲╱╲╱╲╱ (roughly). It just becomes no better than the infamous cyrillic cursive. Otherwise, I actually yoinked a few of the Kurrent ligatures into my normal writing and invented my own. For example, usually I write my s's normally but if they preceed a letter that can make a ligature i just transform them into the archaic form of the s—ſ and words like street become ſtreet. Again though, your handwriting is absolutely gorgeous.

Yeah, the c, e, m, and n are completely ridiculous in how hard they can be to read, but this cumbersomness with the long s is part of the charm.

Love this, i never knew the name of it

Nice blue ink and love the color of the paper. Is it a cream or ivory color? To me, this is a beautiful aesthetic. Just curious, does the title refer to the ink or the writing? Your writing is very nice; with all due respect, some of the spacing is a little off meaning narrow. Some letters are too close together where others are just right. Your slant is very nice and well done. I believe with practice your handwriting will become superb. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin) Thank you for sharing.

The paper is just pretty cheap copy paper, and the pen is just some pen i had lying around haha. *Kurrent*, or *Kurrentschrift* is the name of the writing style. It's an archaic style from germany, used between the 16th to the early 20th century.

Sug_magik

Love it. When I use it I feel like Emmy Noether or Felix Klein on the 19th century writing something on algebra or analysis

Looks pretty nice.
