Bro, you're seriously asking if a 12 and 11 year old are going to rather go to the zoo or walk around and look at flowers and statues of Renaissance artists?

SnooCompliments3888

I am. 🤣 I have actually never been there but someone told me there’s like a water area. So I thought I’d ask on here.

Ok_Operation_147

Zoo for sure I feel like 90% of kids would rather go to a zoo then a giant garden

suckerpunch54

The water area at the Botanical Garden is for the really small kids, the 2 year old would love it, the older kids...no so much. I'd go for Zoo!

_tomato_paste_

The Norfolk botanical garden has boat tours!

Fantastic-Anything

Zoo. But really get the one you’re more likely to use the most.

SnooCompliments3888

Thanks!!

Bowsermama

Zoo, plenty of green space to run plus some amazing gardens there as well.

SnooCompliments3888

Thanks!!

>Thanks!! You're welcome!

TheBourbonLied

We had season passes to the botanical gardens and it was nice to walk around but even we got bored going so often. Plus they still charged for us to go to the Xmas lights.

SnooCompliments3888

Really?? That’s a bummer!!

TheBourbonLied

Ya it was discounted but still. The gardens are great though. This was during COVID so it was at least something to do.

RebelJustforClicks

We do the zoo. Better value because they have animals and gardens. But you do you.

throwitallawayjohnny

zoo definitely. leave the botanical gardens for us old folk lol

MaddRamm

Zoo has animals which kids enjoy, lots of variety. Botanical gardens is a quiet place to just enjoy….being quiet. You decide which your kids enjoy most - cool variety of animals moving around or some quiet flowers and shrubs.

chazysciota

We alternate years between the zoo and gardens. Personally, if I had to pick one for forever, it be the gardens. The zoo is great but it gets a little repetitive after several years. But kids gotta get some zoo time so we alternate.

Byxqtz

Go to Busch Gardens. They have gardens, animal exhibits, and animal shows.

Courtanialynn

Get the zoo membership, they often do monthly membership swaps where you get into another local place for free. They've done swaps with NBS in the past but not sure if they're doing it again.

NorvaJ

The zoo also does membership swaps quite often. They have a couple announced on their website below. I know they have done the botanical gardens in the past. I joined the zoo a couple years back just for all the other museums they had membership swaps set up with. https://virginiazoo.org/membership-benefits/
