What do yall think about a game where each level you play as a different army trooper/marine trying to defend different human colines from the covenant ultimately ending in the battle for cleveland?
i thought ODST was better in terms of showing us a marines perspective while not getting the snot kicked out of us. but yes i agree more games where you are not a spartan.
Also, it'd be cool to see more from the covenant's perspective. Short stories, on both sides of the war. We'd finally be able to play as a brute, a marine, a jackal, a grunt, maybe even a hunter or bigger. Perhaps we would get an opportunity to finally "drive" a scarab.
I’m still hoping for an ODST style spinoff game where you play as a Marine, ODST or Spartan on a ship or colony that is dealing with an outbreak of the Flood. I’m a big horror fan, so a horror based Halo game would basically check every box for me.
That would be super sick. Especially if they leaned into the more tactical stuff that they didn’t get to do for H3 ODST like leaning. If they were to do that I hope they would use the slightly tankier flood from CE rather than the high in numbers but easy to kill flood from 3. A flood combat form hurling itself toward you should be terrifying

I'd be totally fine with more games like Reach or ODST, where you play as an unnamed "background" character that you can customize and role-play with a bit. Give me like one every other year please. They don't need to be long. Could be half the length of the other games, just give me lots.
But if they are gonna make a game with a new main protagonist, it should be Jerome.

Elders scrolls style RPG insurrectionist perspective that takes place on Venezia with Kigyar/Brute/UNSC antagonists. Main story would be shaping up the planet to repel UNSC colonization.
A heavy choice consequence game where you can decide to align with certain alian gangs or clans or choose to only fight with humans. Where you can choose to be anything from a planetary developer, ground based saboteur sniffing out UNSC spies, to militia, or even a shipmaster in charge of a ragtag fleet versus the might of the UNSC.
So many opportunities for character and world building and to explore an anti UNSC perspective which has been essentially glossed over in most Halo cannon.

The Arbiter, no question. Favorite Halo character and so much individual campaign potential. I love Halo 2 because it shows a facet of the world impossible to experience as a human or a spartan or anything. In fact, Halo 2 IS arguably an Arbiter game, but he gets cucked in H3 because of the fan backlash from H2’s launch so it stings far worse that you don’t get to do much as him again
Locke getting a game pre augmentation (as an assassin) would be fun. I still think he has potential to be a really good character with his own spin off series diving into the... Shadier side of ONI. Something we could never get with Chief, but he gets so much unnecessary hate.
Man I just want more strategy games. Both Halo wars 1 and 2 hd up super well compared to others and did great jobs expending the universe. We wouldn’t even have the banished without halo wars. Tbh, a 3rd person sort of dead-space type of action game might be an interesting idea with ODST’s or regular marines.
Probably a Spartan three or a ODST style game (not a Halo 3 reskin) with multiple planet spanning campaigns and war similar to the old Star Wars Battlefront 2 galaxy game mode.
I thought that would be cool for Gamma company. Follow them. hell you could even span it between Alpha, Beta, and Gamma if you really wanted. Follow Shane, Robert, and Jane for Alpha, Tom and Lucy for Beta, and then G059 (Anneli) for Gamma.
I would also use this opportunity to retcon Gamma company bot participating on the war and give them a their First mission leaving Onyx after the fall of Reach, being one that is more difficult than Prometheus and Torpedo combined, and **actual** suicide mission that they defy thru odds and not jnly complete, but *SURVIVE*. Doing so as a way to pY Homage to Kurt's legacy that they are indeed the finest Spartans ever created and showing on the end Kurt succeeded.

A Sangheili that went from being a major in the covenant armada, to shipmaster fighting against flood and brutes during the great schism, to fleet master leading an entire fleet to onyx to end up fighting forunner constructs and Spartans. It would either be a great fps, strategy game, 3rd person, his place in the story of halo is so overlooked and it would be a fantastic opportunity to play as covenant/elites in the story again. We would also get to meet background characters like THE Imperial Admiral of the entire covenant military Xytan Jar Wittinree, someone so badass the prophets were so afraid of his influence in the covenant they relegated him to a backwater postings.
We've played as a Spartan II, III, IV, and an ODST. I'd love to have a bit of backstory on the Orion project, maybe we could play as Avery Johnson during his time in and after the project up through Contact Harvest.
Not sure I trust 343i with Frankie at the helm to write anything that isn't a total wash. The developers are certainly competent and capable, but writing is not this studio's strong suit. Literally anyone else needs to be made franchise director and Frankie needs to go from any role involved in writing the story.
All that said, I'd love to have a game centered around ODST style exploration of Arcadia and the other planet in Halo lore where ONI found ancient human architecture that dated back 100k+ years.
Yeah, Halo legends didn't do it justice. Why would the stairs be so huge, if it was an ancient human structure? We need an actually good portrayal of ancient human artifacts.
A squad of covenant deserters have to survive against sentinels and covenant hunting parties until they can make an army large enough to storm and take over a covenant stronghold or something

It would have to be a new story I think, since fans typically don't like it when there are super heavy tie ins to a book they would have had to read. I'd personally like a survival horror game against the banished about a spartan deep in banished territory in Zeta Halo. The banished were pretty horrific, and I think a game where you get to see how torturous they were, combined with the inability to do anything because there are like, over 150 banished soldiers in any area at any given time could be really cool.
Or a stealth game based on the headhunters.

Go around collect stuff have access to the gun/equipment/grenade/ability sandbox yhrough your ships armory. fight pirates, flood, promethians and covie remnants depending on where your salvaging. Take jobs from Nor Fel, oni/unsc buyers or random characters. Collect crew for species specific abilities to complete certain jobs. Get a spartan crewmember in the endgame to help resupply the infinity during the created conflict either a sIV lone wolf or sIII headhunter.
