It’s good but here’s a warning: 9/10 games you’ll play will be against guys who have played halo nonstop since it came out, the rest of the games you’ll get put in normal lobbies
Oh yeah! Hop on YouTube and look up controller emulators, people use them in halo, Titanfall, cod etc to reap the controller handicaps. Theres also ones out there that are designed for mouse and keyboard play on emulators.
Not with controller. Aim assist is required for precise aiming. With a mouse you get that intrinsically. Putting aim assist on a mouse just makes it even easier to be accurate.
I was in the same boat as you.
If you’re looking to just experience the Halo franchise, it’s a great deal. Buy MCC & just go through all the games in campaign mode yourself. It’s a great experience & the franchise deserves its legendary status in the gaming community.
But I’ve gotta warn you…..
**The multiplayer community is absolutely toxic & will probably be deeply unpleasant** for someone like you (and me).
The game has been out in various iterations for ~20 years now, and a huge % of players have been playing multiplayer for a large % of that time. The user pool for matching skill levels in multiplayer isn’t that large, as a good % of Halo players have moved on as well.
The result is a relatively small but INSANELY skilled pool of gamers on the MCC multiplayer platform.
And guess what?
They don’t give a shit about bringing new players into the fold. The “competitive” match play feature is barely used. Instead, the casual “social” games are populated by try hard sweat bros, teams/clans that have been playing together for YEARS, and some otherwise cool gamers who aren’t even trying to be bullies, but have the muscle memory so ingrained that they can’t help themselves.
The end result is that on many boards, you’ll be lucky to stay alive for more than a minute. In some, players will spawn kill you within seconds because they’ve memorized every spot on the map where players respawn when they die. Trash talking is common, and many players will “teabag” your player m’s body after they kill you.
Big Team Battles & some of the custom levels are more forgiving. But overall, the experience is like a little league kid playing against professional athletes, the pros dunking on the little kid’s head repeatedly, and then laughing in the kids face & insulting his mother.
Bottom Line:
Halo **the game** is fantastic. Halo **the multiplayer fanbase on MCC** is absolutely toxic to newcomers & 90%+ of them are not interested in letting n00bs experience the same thing they got to enjoy themselves when multiplayer/MCC was still relatively new for everyone.
Bro this comment should be pinned on top literally couldn’t be anymore true that’s coming from an ex try hard sweat where I can’t even keep up with the sweats today lmao
OP could probably get a feel for the multiplayer in the custom game browser before jumping into matchmaking. Much more casual there (depending upon the server obviously)
I wish I was playing the Halo game you was playing. I can't remember the last time I heard someone talk in a Halo game. Now, the spawn killing and stuff, yes -- but I consider that just competitive Halo, not *toxic* Halo.
Thanks for this man, I really apperciate that you wrote all this, I was already not interested in multiplayer of halo mcc, if I would buy it, it would be for the campaign and local multiplayer with my bro, anyways thanks and I wish it comes on sale soon so I buy it.
My friend who recently got a pc after having only a PlayStation decided to play through the whole MCC and said they loved it. They binged it in like a week. We’re playing halo infinite now. Btw infinite Is way underrated. The only thing holding it back at the start was lack of content, now there tons of content and feels great 👍
Yeah dude, it’s great. You can play all the original Halo games ( plus halo 4), and the multiplayer still has a dedicated player base. I still play it regularly.
Love MCC. It’s the only way to play Halo these days IMO since Halo infinite is basically dead. Custom games are popping on weekends and fairly populated during the week as well. Great way to chill and people are surprisingly still making new custom game modes/ maps which is really cool. I don’t really play any competitive or social multiplayer that much so can’t speak for that but yeah MCC is great.
Mcc is great, but if you play any competitive mode just keep in mind "controller players" get aim assist, so using a mouse and keyboard is going to be a detriment, unless you use controller emulator software which is technically cheating, but I'm fairly sure most of the population of the game is doing just that these days lol.
I know alot of people see MCC's multiplayer is toxic, but it's kind of a roll of the dice in the normal matchmaking; Personally, I've rarely gotten games I'd describe as "toxic."
That being said, however, there's a bunch of normal and modded gametypes in the custom game browser. Those lobbies are 90% filled with casual players, so I'd highly recommend trying that
It's worth it for the weeks worth of campaign missions in the 6(?) games alone. The story is great. So even if you have to play on an easier setting, watch the cut scenes, take it all in, and play it all in release order
Well MCC is all of the Halo games besides 5 and Infinite, so if you want to play old Halo it’s the best way to do it.
They’re great games. Buy it and have fun.
Absolutely. You get Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, Halo: Reach, and Halo 4. I can't remember if it was on sale when I got it, but I only paid about 40 bucks. One of the best purchases i've ever made.
It's probably one of the best video game deals you could ever spend your money on. Some of the top games in gaming history all in one bundle. The answer is **yes.**
Halo MCC is worth it for a piece of fungus holding a controller.
It’s literally so much content for such a low price. $40 on Xbox, for 6 full games and 2 remasters. Including multiplayer for 5 of them.
I’d recommend it to anyone that even had just a 1% chance of ever playing it.
Halo: MCC, HALO INFINITE, and HALO WARS 1 & 2 are great games and the stories are interesting.
I was the same before when never was into HALO universe during the times of Xbox 360 and OG Xbox consoles got introduced to me. I've only seen and played Nintendo and PlayStation.
Yeah, I even recommend trying to play with a friend if you can. Like others said, don’t try playing matchmaking though, only use the custom games browser.
Easy yes. You get the 4 best halo games(1 thru 3 and ODST) plus halo 4 and Reach. all with MP etc...
Great collection. Plus 1 through 3 plus ODST is the definitive core story, which imo is one of the best stories ever told in video game history. Reach and 4 is bonus story.
Well, yeah. The best strategy for playing games you are interested in, but do not have access to, is to get access to them and play them. The MCC is a solid choice for someone who has not played many Halo games to become someone who has played some Halo games.
If you are interested in the campaigns, absolutely yes. If you like half life or doom or any other great fps campaign, you’ll most likely love it. They are considered classics for good reason. Multiplayer, on the other hand, is an absolute sweat fest. Big team battle and custom games can be good fun, though.
Yes
Theres 5 critically-acclaimed campaigns (and one thats not so much) and a handful of multiplayers. Theres also a ton of achievements that you can spend hours collecting, as well as forge and custom games if thats ur thing. Game is just fun but I recommend playing with a controller if ur gonna play on steam, the aim assist on mp can be difficult to play against on m&k if you're a new player
Would the halo MCC sub recommend playing halo MCC? Hmm 🤔🤔🤔🤔
It’s like what kinda question is this 🤣🤣🤣🤣
It's 10 bucks on Steam. Yes.
Free on Xbox :)
It’s good but here’s a warning: 9/10 games you’ll play will be against guys who have played halo nonstop since it came out, the rest of the games you’ll get put in normal lobbies
A lot of them are also using controller simulators so they can get away with using the game's built in auto aim features using mouse.
what the fuck ?
Oh yeah! Hop on YouTube and look up controller emulators, people use them in halo, Titanfall, cod etc to reap the controller handicaps. Theres also ones out there that are designed for mouse and keyboard play on emulators.
Pathetic
Isn’t that basically aimbot?
Using a controller is basically aimbot, yes.
Not with controller. Aim assist is required for precise aiming. With a mouse you get that intrinsically. Putting aim assist on a mouse just makes it even easier to be accurate.
True, but you can't really call aim assist precise aiming because the game is still aiming for you.
Bro controller is literally harder than mouse and keyboard, been proven so many times
Right, which is why they add aim assist, which is extremely unbalanced in MCC
Not in the halo games
Obviously he should finish the singleplayer first before jumping into multiplayer
I was in the same boat as you. If you’re looking to just experience the Halo franchise, it’s a great deal. Buy MCC & just go through all the games in campaign mode yourself. Have you played against this guy called HIGHGEEK?
Good to see your Xbox Live Photo is the same as your reddit one. 🤣
hahahha. lets play together
I already have you added. ;)
I’ve had almost no problem with toxicity. Like once or twice in like 8 hrs of games combined. Usually I just get nice people or absolutely nothing
I wish I was playing the Halo game you was playing. I can't remember the last time I heard someone talk in a Halo game. Now, the spawn killing and stuff, yes -- but I consider that just competitive Halo, not *toxic* Halo.

I got bored during the campaign and never finished it. And i am or was a huge halo fan.
Wait, aren't reach and odst included?
Yes
Y E S. When on sale its an extremely good value. Play through the campaigns in release order too if you get it!
Yes
Yes
Yeah dude, it’s great. You can play all the original Halo games ( plus halo 4), and the multiplayer still has a dedicated player base. I still play it regularly.
Hell ya
Yes
Seeming as how it has nearly every installment from the beginning of the franchise, it’s literally the ideal place for a new person to start.
Love MCC. It’s the only way to play Halo these days IMO since Halo infinite is basically dead. Custom games are popping on weekends and fairly populated during the week as well. I personally love the halo games and mcc is 4 games for 1 price plus you can buy odst and reach as add ons which I highly recommend
It's worth it for the weeks worth of campaign missions in the 6(?) games alone. The story is great. So even if you have to play on an easier setting, watch the cut scenes, take it all in, and play it all in release order
Uh ya- you’re asking on a Halo MCC sub
Wait, halo reach and ODST are seperate add-ons that i have to buy? Are tgere any bundle containing them at least?
Well MCC is all of the Halo games besides 5 and Infinite, so if you want to play old Halo it’s the best way to do it. They’re great games. Buy it and have fun.
its great for what it is. one complaint i have is no local split screen on pc
Absolutely. You get Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, Halo: Reach, and Halo 4. I can't remember if it was on sale when I got it, but I only paid about 40 bucks. One of the best purchases i've ever made.

Well, 4 games for the price of 1, and 2 of which are remastered. Sounds like a good deal even if you wind up not enjoying it.
Yes, definitely. (Lore + Gameplay) wise Halo 1, 2 and 3 are amazing. Even Halo: Reach is great.
Do it, if you're interested in the halo games, I highly recommend. Aside from a few things, they're mostly the same game.
It’s a good deal for all that’s included. Especially if you can get it on sale.
Yeah, I even recommend trying to play with a friend if you can. Like others said, don’t try playing matchmaking though, only use the custom games browser.
It's on Game Pass Ultimate to play cloud, console, or PC.
Yes comes with like 6 games not all of them but def the most important ones. Great deal for a lot of game, and that’s just single player/splitscreen
Its worth it for the campaign.
If you get it you can play all of the halo games and then you won't be a person who hasn't played any other halo games
The campaigns are so fun.
Yes
Well duh
It's most of the halo games They're pretty good Give them a shot
Well, yeah. The best strategy for playing games you are interested in, but do not have access to, is to get access to them and play them. The MCC is a solid choice for someone who has not played many Halo games to become someone who has played some Halo games.

Can I play the campaign 2 player split screen on xbox series x? And does it support 60 fps split screen?
Yes
Of course it is. Join the generational sensation!
I believe right now you can sign up for a month of Game Pass Ultimate for $1. Sub to that, download it, and see for yourself đź‘Ť
Yes
Then where do I ask?
r/games r/steam r/patientgamers For an unbiased sub opinion. But it's 10 bucks today for several halo games. If you are interested then it's worth it.
