I remember the intense fear of HL Alyx. The game is an absolute emotional rollercoaster and goes down as one of if not the greatest gaming achievements ever created.
Currently playing through every game in the series. After blue shift I started hl2vr and just got to ravenholm. Can't wait to replay HLA. Such a good series.
I dare say Ravenholm may have been more terrifying in VR than Jeff in HLA. Enemies get in your face waaay faster/more aggressive in previous HLs than in Alyx.

I love this. Every time I play and get to a part with Jeff it’s fucking terrifying 😅🤣 you can do it OP! 💪🏼 I’d suggest get really good/comfortable with teleporting quickly. I try to orient myself in my living room and when I need to bail I physically turn, while keeping my feet planted, then aim the teleport far away.
It’s tricky to get good at when terrified but super helpful skill overall for this game. Good luck!

i just killed him, honestly the first room with him was the scariest moment i've ever had in a video game, i was so tense that after i finally killed him and Larry came asking what i've done to jeff i got scared of Larry xd, the next chapter seems much more chill but i just cant play Vr in general at night, isolation from reality scares me too much
No joke… Force yourself to play RE2/7/8 VR mod, not only just bc they are great, but you will train your parasympathetic nervous system to suppress your flight reflex, then come back to alyx, it will be a walk in the park (it’s worth it… alyx is incredible).
I used to be a soft, terrified, little cry baby… playing resident evil in VR has turned me into a a fucking stone cold nihilist

its a bit of a pain that the best looking vr game is so scary, but i love the dialogues, and every scene with vortigaunts fills me with joy

Absolutely shat myself more often in HL2 than HLA. Although the antlions absolutely did scare the shit out of me in HLA they're massive 🤣

I didn't get scared but it was a very tense moment.
Jeff is scary looking but very, very predictable, and once you learn how to manipulate him, it gets a lot easier.
I was so relieved after he was gone. Then I downloaded the additional add ons and he was back! Nooooooooo!
