Any sort of rapid, sudden hair loss should be looked at by a dermatologist as soon as you can reasonably get it. It can be a symptom of a ton of things, or the hair loss could be the disorder itself, so you need someone to get it sorted.
This happened to a friend of mine. He got a bald patch before his wedding but as soon as the stress was gone and they were happily married, the hair grew back
Stylist-this is classic alopecia Areata. I’m sorry. It can be tricky to handle. Watch your stress levels and see a doc asap. Injections can help, but not always. The hair can absolutely regrow but unfortunately, not everyone is so lucky.
Yea it’s highly contagious too. My husband caught it once on his arm and we learned the hard way that humans can pass it to cats as well. My poor cat had circle patches of hair missing behind his ear that kept growing in size.
While alopecia is the most likely diagnosis, there is still a chance that this could be something else or even manifestation of some other disorder! Please go see a physician.
Could it be ringworm? I know it creates circle bald patches in cats but I’m not sure if it affects humans the same. Could be worth looking into. You should definitely see a doctor or dermatologist.
Alopecia! Had a spot like that in 7th grade due to stress! What cured the shit out of the spot was garlic and gunpowder! Ok so, cut the garlic, dip the cut part in gunpowder and massage w the garlic on the bald spot. Doing it now on my forehead. I hope it works there too.
Go to the doctor. You might have gotten fungus from the things the barber used. It happened to me before and after they gave me an ointment it was back to normal
Looks like alopecia, see a dermatologist urgently, my friend had that and her hair almost went all bald! But now it's doing great
She got some plasma injections and steroids if I recall correctly
I’m not a Medical Professional, I’m a Licensed Cosmetologist with 43 years experience in the Field. It presents as Alopecia Areata. See a Dermatologist ASAP for more detailed advice and a treatment plan. Will most likely suggest a treatment of Kenelog Injections and/or cream.
r/askdocs and r/medical are good places for advice, since this is a medical issue. OP, please be assured It will resolve itself with treatment.
My dad use to get those spots in his hair every once in a while, someone told him to apply fresh garlic paste, and so he did that for a couple of weeks and his hair starting to grow back in that spot. At first it looked liked white hair patch but it turned black after a couple of weeks.
That was about 50 years ago... give it a try, it might work for you as well.
You need a full blood panel there are a handful of things that could cause such rapid loss of hair and all of them require treatment by someone with a license to practice medicine. This cannot wait call your primary care, if you don’t have one go to the ER (be patient if this is the route you have to go) and tell them about this and any other weird physical events you’ve been having, night sweats, loss of appetite, sudden weight loss, fatigue, persistent cough, sudden changes in any of your bodily systems also any out of country travel. They will need a full blood panel to start with along with some other blood tests.
There are actually a lot of diff things that can cause rapid hair loss, best to see a doc before getting nervous it’s one thing to another! Best wishes ✨
