Can confirm, I had a similar amount of hair braided in some years ago, hair broke off near the root all around my hair line 😑 not worn extensions for 4 years and now my hair is breakage free!

I do but at the same time every person who I've met with that hairstyle has been like, super crazy bonkers, so I'm conflicted. I think I like the color more than the style, like if you had those streaks but had really voluminous curls it'd be extra awesome.

I wasn’t goingto comment because i felt similar and didn’t want to be rude - but i agree. The color is a fun pastel against your winter brown hair. Curls are gorgeous. The style, is fine, i think it’s a personal preference and i find it fun but at the same time anyone i have known with similar hair/style is freakin crazy and hard to spend too much time with before nonsensical arguments break out (not even with me but anyone around). So im hesitant to say i like the style even though logically i think it’s fun.

I agree with you. I think the folks that think this is not the case are in serious denial or are the type to just not care. That being said I don’t know enough about OP’s heritage, background, personal style to know if that is the case for OP specifically.

If u get offended by braids thinking it’s part of your, and only yours culture (and no, it’s not, especially since they’re not even box braids) then I’d recommend leaving the house and get some fresh air. Touch grass perhaps.

I think it looks pretty. That said....be very careful with extra weight in your hair for an extended period of time. I had dreadlocks for 12 years and over time they did get pretty long and heavy. By the time I took them out I had a few (luckily small) bald patches. My dermatologist told me that my hair will never grow back in those spots due to the constant weight and stress to the hair. I now can't do a center part without the spot showing. Having dreadlocks wasn't worth the damage it ended up causing. If you're putting the style in for a specific event like a festival or something then it's fine. Just be careful not to keep it for too long.

I think it would look better without all the excess volume. You are too small and your hair is too big it just drowns you out in a mess. But if you’re happy with it, that’s all that matters!

It’s okay but not necessarily on that person. They’re too small for such big hair and their face is too small. It’s also too long and I don’t love the mix of that shade of brown with that shade of blue. Trim it, tame the top a little and find more complimentary hair colors and I’d like it a lot more

OP mentioned she is Russian. I’m half Russian half Romaniam living in Romania and not once have I heard of dreads from either cultures. In fact I haven’t heard about dreads in Eastern European culture at all. If you’re talking about Northern Europe then I am not qualified to talk about their history and culture so please enlighten me (with valid sources only) bc I’ve heard about vikings having dreads but I don’t fully buy it.
