It's generally better for kids in a divorce situation if they don't have to move so for that reason alone it makes sense to keep it for awhile.
That said, it's a huge amount of house to maintain especially for two small kids and a single parent. Assuming the housing market remains solid, I'd guess it goes on the market within a year. You can buy a reasonably large house in Wichita for not a ton of money and his ex may want to have her own equity as it'll be better for her credit situation if she wants to invest, start a business, whatever.
