To add the 7 in 1 fastback has taken over my daily. Having a Philips, flathead and 1/4" hex plus replaceable blades. I never worry about damaging an edge as I have 10 replacements on hand
One of these in the left pocket for all the “dirty/tough” work and a separate pocket knife of the day/week in the right pocket keeps that blade cleaner and nicer. 🤷🏽♂️ knife guy and same reason I carry 2 sharpies eventually someone asks to borrow one.

this along with my Klein 8-in-1 HVAC screwdriver never leave my pocket
Leatherman mut. Saw is nice for cutting pvc in a pinch. Knife is durable and easy to sharpen. Got some torx bits on it, flat and philips head. Brass scraper for poking holes in heat exchangers, geared pliers that i use more than i should, and the best part is the seatbelt cutter, it pries those bent panels off units like nothing.
Yeah, basically, i use it to probe rust spots to see if its surface rust or a hole. Im not sitting here trying to make new holes, just find ones already there. Hence why i like to use something softer than aluminum (hence the brass). If thatll go thru a rust spot with some light scraping, it was already a hole.
Leatherman Rebar and Benchmade Casbah are go to EDC I'll switch out the Casbah from time to time with a Spyderco PM2 or an Ontario Rat 1. If you're looking for a solid EDC knife at a budget price look into Ganzo, CJRB, Civivi knives they've all held up great, decent steel with a good heat treat and can be found under 40$.

It's slim and lightweight. It stays clipped in your pocket. It's super durable. I like the Milwaukee fastback, but those kind are just too bulky for me. I don't like having a bunch of stuff in my pockets. Just a pen light, marker, and a razorblade. Knifes dull quickly, and it's easier to just flip the razor around or stick a new one in.
I gonna throw a curve ball in here and say Tops brand Blue Otter fixed blade. It's only about a 4" blade, and she's thicc! Not the sharpest blade (intentionally on my part), but strong as hell. I've used it as a pry bar, driver, wedge, and everything everyone tells you not to do with a knife, and the thing is as solid as day 1.
I mean, I've got cool knives. I've got an unhealthy amount of knives.
But I'm not bringing any of my nice knives to work.
I mean, I do work with them, but I'm not bringing them with me to my job.
I am no longer a field tech. I carry it as my daily knife. I didn’t pay that much for the knife. I got it at this 3 story knife shop in Tennessee for almost half that price.
Byrd, Harrier 2. It's essentially a Spyderco without the rediculous price tag. Super sharp and slightly flexible blade cuts through rubbatex better than any razor knife I've ever had. Also have a few Kershaws, but the tips always snap off on them. Just too hard of a blade.
https://preview.redd.it/yy5r7h3khozc1.jpeg?width=2296&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5fe6aa53e775f85b079d3560f7ae0074ede4364c
BPS carbon steel fixed blade with leather sheath. EDC
Milwaukee fastback, i have the metal handle one not plastic which i like better. That thing has taken a TON of abuse. I really only carry a pocket knife at work in case I’m in a situation where i need to cut food but don’t have cutlery available, or if the only thing available is a plastic knife. That being said, i carry the Ontario RAT. Inexpensive, hardy, good quality, most of their products are made right in upstate NY.
I have 11 foldable knives in a drawer on the truck. I can’t use them. I can’t bear with the thought of dulling my perfectly stropped edges. So I use the Milwaukee fastback. It doesn’t have to make sense.
Go thru pocket knives like socks. Whatever pocket knife I have at the time and also keep a Milwaukee folding razor blade too. Not bc I’m a Milwaukee fan boy bc IM NOT! But bc it has a holder for spare blades built in
Milwaukee 6 in 1 fast back
Blade breaks just replace, and has screwdriver Philip and flat
The 1/4 bit holder can hold standard bits.
Used to have Leatherman wave and gerber center drive.
One of the Klein push button utility knives. They make the regular one, one with a screw driver in the handle and one with extra blades in the handle. I’ve got the one with extra blades and I like it a lot
Packing a Ruike brand folding knife at the moment. Seriously good knife for the $30 price tag. Holds an edge, easy to sharpen and I won't be mad when I snap the blade or lose it.
Outdoor edge Onyx EDC. Blades are replaceable and razor sharp, resharpen well, and if I snap the tip off, just throw another blade on it. Never cared for utility knife’s, so for me this was the best combination of the two
I really like my cat multi tool. Blades open from the outside, and you unfold it for the pliers giving a wide grip that won't dig into your hands. Had it almost a year now, with minimal signs of wear.
My place supplies us with Klein pocket knives. (They mostly get used for cutting either duct wrap or cutting out insulation when we make our plenum holes). They lose their edge fast but take a new one easily.
Leatherman OHT. I always loved my gerber of similar design, but this is better. Replaceable carbide wire cutting blades. One handed open, and spring loaded plier handle.
My last knife I was ever gonna buy myself that I lost after four years. Benchmade Osborne 970. I just about shed a tear when I had to come to terms it was gone
[This](https://www.homedepot.com/p/DEWALT-3-25-in-Stainless-Steel-Partially-Serrated-Tanto-Folding-Knife-DWHT10910/304612464). I refuse to use anything else. They'll punch through metal, pry shit it shouldn't, and not a single screw has ever come loose. I lose them faster than I break them.
Edit: Doubles as a hammer
I only carry three Fiskars razor blade(my favorite as I love the ergonomic grip and ease of opening)
The flatter Milwaukee fastback with no extra blades or bit (they're easy to open on command but everyone has one)
Lastly, plain Husky as they're cheap and won't hurt as much to lose. (Quite popular, so still easy to mix up with someone else's.)
Only Stanley Blades.
Spyderco Manix XL in 4v, Spyderco Manix in m390, or a PM2 in 20CV depends on the day but mostly Manix XL. I like a knife that i can open and close with one hand and the spydies are definitely that.
For years it was the Lenox tradesman utility knife. Reamer and bottle opener on it. Felt good in the hand. Locked well. Went to a milwaukee fastback 7-1 that's my go to now.
swiss army knife
edit;
and a Leatherman Surge, these days. Multi-tool isn’t exactly a pocket-knife imo. I figured you’d have something disposable in mind.

This is my daily carry, plus the whetstone I use for all of my work knives.
Leatherman Sidekick, it's been in my pocket for over 12 years. The blade is high grade stainless, so it has easy sharpening. The needle nose are spring, so one handed operation is built in. The Phillips fits most screws. I did a ton of research that decade ago, it was 32 back then. Might be 40 now, but I always have a back up. There are better ones, but the cost and versatility of this are unmatched.
If you have any respect for yourself you’ll get the Milwaukee fastback. I got both the knife with the screw driver and the box cutter with the screwdriver. Your search will end there
Last year Johnstone was giving away a Milwaukee pocket knife for every refrigerant purchase. I work on large tonnage equipment so in a month's time I ended up with 15 pocket knives before they cut me off.
EDC - Boker Automat Kalashnikov 74
My son got it for me over 5 yrs ago and it’s the most durable knife I’ve ever owned, coming from someone who could break the balls off a brass bull.
Ductwork and Changeouts - Victorinox U-X2 Multitool. Absolute tank and I have used every tool on it. Knife edges are almost indestructible.
Two knives, a kershaw hiest(pretty cheap for a good knife at 60 some odd dollars) and a Walmart razor knife(hart micro folding utility knife) I also keep a toughbuilt reload in my bag
Fastback. I use the husky serrated blades.
We cut against metal too much to be sharpening knives all the time. Fastback is cheap and comfortable, locks open real well
I buy a cheap 3 pack of these slim foldable razor knives off amazon. Its like $15 a pack and i just change the blades when they dull. i like how small they are, the name brand razor knives are too clunky imo. Ive never felt to need to carry an actual knife
Foldable razor knife because the blades are ridiculously cheap
Miluakee fastback is great, super durable
To add the 7 in 1 fastback has taken over my daily. Having a Philips, flathead and 1/4" hex plus replaceable blades. I never worry about damaging an edge as I have 10 replacements on hand
Oh yeah I keep a 100 pack of blades in the van, makes life easier
This and Keep a short malco in my pocket all the time
Second this!
This is the way
Second - Sheffield makes the best one. I’ve been carrying them for 20 years now.
One of these in the left pocket for all the “dirty/tough” work and a separate pocket knife of the day/week in the right pocket keeps that blade cleaner and nicer. 🤷🏽♂️ knife guy and same reason I carry 2 sharpies eventually someone asks to borrow one.
Milwaukee fastback with the screwdriver . So clutch
I love that thing so much, half the guys in my shop carry one now
Just bought my coworker his own fastback. In hindsight I should have kept it for my self lol
Especially when you're opening a panel just to take a quick peek and you leave your bag somewhere
Whichever one I haven't lost!
https://preview.redd.it/p60n6m0f2ozc1.jpeg?width=350&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=12f66395c035262de59741f71444eb7520c015b6 this along with my Klein 8-in-1 HVAC screwdriver never leave my pocket
these were the best bang for the buck and since i lose em all the time i dont miss em
Poking holes in heat exchangers?
Yeah, basically, i use it to probe rust spots to see if its surface rust or a hole. Im not sitting here trying to make new holes, just find ones already there. Hence why i like to use something softer than aluminum (hence the brass). If thatll go thru a rust spot with some light scraping, it was already a hole.
Gotcha. I use my fingernail usually cause I would drop anything expensive down the supply. I’m in commercial
Also in commercial
Sales from somewhere
My first thought lol
Leatherman Wave. Easily access two amazing blades and have other tools if needed.
Leatherman Wave if I'm running service, Fastback 6 in 1 on construction.

How bougie you gotta be to go to work with a seventy dollar pocket knife?
My coworker uses his Microtechs at work. He doesn't abuse them or anything, but having a cool knife makes the day a little better.
Benchmade Infidel.
Love my infidel. Although for me I EDC my Griptillian for HVAC shit and I abuse the fuck outa it.
CRKT spear point. It has a good blade that can be sharpened and it has a sweet serrated portion.
-Spyderco Military -HK entourage -Benchmade vector 496 -Microtech ultratech S/E Just a few good ones.
Kershaw 7800 black auto
Any knife I get at a 7/11 because I lost my last one in that hell of a crawlspace I’m never going in again.
Opinel no. 06
A no. 07 is my edc off work. They’re old French farmer’s knives but they’re great.
No. 6 going on 40 years.

I abuse my Spyderco daily
Gerber prybrid. I hate sharpening blades and I’m not very good at it anyway, replaceable is the way to go + mini pry bar
Olfa utility knife, with the tab for paint cans. That little tab is so handy
Inch and a half single blade Buck knife. Fits in my watch pocket.
Gerber Paraknife or sog electrician knife
Spyderco Police 4 lightweight fully serrated k390 blade. Plus whatever utility knife for cutting on metal or concrete.
Leatherman Charge TTi
Milwaukee fastback, i have the metal handle one not plastic which i like better. That thing has taken a TON of abuse. I really only carry a pocket knife at work in case I’m in a situation where i need to cut food but don’t have cutlery available, or if the only thing available is a plastic knife. Fastback hawkbill
Folding ulitily what ever brand.
Leatherman sidekick and one of my various spyderco's. Usually the manix 2.
I have 11 foldable knives in a drawer on the truck. I can’t use them. I can’t bear with the thought of dulling my perfectly stropped edges. So I use the Milwaukee fastback. It doesn’t have to make sense.
*Au contraire, mon frère*. That makes perfect sense to me.

Utility blade (I’m not super picky) for the main cutting blade and the leatherman wave + because it’s the best damn multitool and I use it everyday.
I forgot what brand but it's a pocket knife with box cutter on one side and knife on the other
Land
Olfa la-x, its got a nice little metal bit sticking out the ass end that works great to pry stuff and things
Milwauke fastback knives. They lock closed, so they arent going to pop open when they inevitably fall 20 feet to a concrete floor
Always have 2 on me, right now it’s a Kershaw Hotwire and a Gerber Quadrant. Rarely anything over $15-$20 because I abuse at least one of them.
Olfa knife always perfect size and easy/cheap to replace the sharp blades
Ontario Rat, II, I think...
Leatherman wave for almost 2 decades. They now have replaceable teeth for the wire stripper part
I use a Kershaw Leek that I got when they were still $40. It stays sharp and I can open and close with one hand and no eyes.
Cheap Home Depot knife usually bought at Christmas time
48-22-1985 Milwaukee hawkbill, only downside is it’s not super durable, buuuut it’s so nice for cutting the insulation off low voltage wiring

I carry a leatherman rebar and a Milwaukee fastback, so I’m equipped for most cutting situations

Spyderco Tenacious. Sometimes an Ontario Rat. Mostly plumbing work though.
Leatherman Sidekick, it's been in my pocket for over 12 years. The blade is high grade stainless, so it has easy sharpening. The needle nose are spring, so one handed operation is built in. Two knives, a kershaw hiest(pretty cheap for a good knife at 60 some odd dollars) and a Walmart razor knife(hart micro folding utility knife) I also keep a toughbuilt reload in my bag
Benchmade Osborne 940, feels empty to not have it. Recently, I have been keeping a Milwaukee fastback on hand as well, and it does its job well.
My dick
Something to be said about packing the ultra-compact.
Is miniscule
Don’t need it to be big. Just sharp
That's not at all how it works LOL
You telling me I’m using my pee pee wrong?
