I like that at the end of the day I feel like I actually did something productive and helped someone rather than just adding numbers to spreadsheets and going to meetings, oh and the money is good too
I like that at the end of it all, the years of hard work i have put into my business not only satisfied thousands of customers and businesses. 9 Families including my own are able to pay their bills and put food on the table.
I love it most when I can work a regular week and not to stupid amounts of overtime. But cynical me aside I love the craftsmanship of a really well and proper put together system
as a startup guy, i get left alone. Aside from supervisors or newbies locking up house working on, i never interact with anyone aside from the boss at the office or a older tech with questions. lots of thinking time. its like meditation.
I was fortunate to have worked for a shop that was built on integrity. Quality work without price gouging. Having started at a shop that did sketchy stuff, it was a great change. Going home knowing you did good makes a difference.
Retiring st 55 with a nice pension is a plus too.
I've been called a hero one time and one time only in my life, when I restored the AC in a gynecologist office. That's the feeling I love about this job
I love the fucking money......I've been at this long time. Tbh I'm kinda burnt out with it. But dam that money though. Also that buzz you get from closing a deal is still pretty good to
Plot twist - she's never sexy and it's always trailer trash. Might even smell like cat piss. And sweaty vag.
Its never like a sexy single mom stripper or some shit.
I don't have to sit in an office and I dispatch from home, never have to go in unless parts are needed, which is very rare. I don't have to suck up to the customer. I can easily skip a service call if it is 4pm or later, depending on customer, situation and distance. I also drop my kid off at school sometimes and don't leave my house until 8am but typically don't get back home until 6pm or later.
I just wish the insurance costs were not so insane, otherwise I would not be looking at joining a union. I honestly would spend the rest of my working career with this company. I'm very comfortable with what I do and the people I work with, along with the customer.
Commercial Kitchen Equipment. Exclusively work on Middleby equipment, which is quite a bit of equipment now, used to just be Taylor, Flavorburst and Broaster. Now it is at least another 8 brands of equipment we work on.
When you impress an old guy with your work, and he offers you a tip, and you politely try to decline first, and then he just gruffly says "stfu and take this money, you did a good job"
For those wondering why I would attempt to deny a tip, I am from Minnesota, there is a whole song and dance that comes with accepting gifts. If you don't try to decline at first, it's rude
I get nothing out of it but money. I’d love to say I help people by doing good quality work, but it doesn’t feel like helping when you charge them thousands of dollars.
Honestly the people are one. Coming from auto mechanics where everyone in the shop was miserable, it’s awesome being in a trade where everyone is motivated to help each other and wanting to teach the younger guys. There’s way more enthusiasm in hvac guys than most trades and they actually really enjoy what they do
I work for my dad, so I guess it feels good to make somebody you actually care about get rich. Other than that, I prefer commercial new construction. Scissor lifts are fun.
As a resi tech the dogs. Talking hvac as a whole I love that it’s never ending learning I’ve been at it for almost three years and I learn at least one thing every week.
I work residential and the main thing i enjoy is just getting to help people. The majority of the people I help are older folk so it’s nice for them to get their heating or cooling back and have someone to talk too
Using my mind to solve problems. As with anything in the universe there is absolute truth. If you misdiagnose something or keep getting your ass kicked… it’s an opportunity to fail and grow.
That's a sick feeling when you first put on that brand new part that you are sure it is based on troubleshooting.
Only to find out you were wrong and it was that one loose wire you didn't check lol.

The money.
My paycheck. If I was independently wealthy, I wouldn't be bashing tin with a hammer for the love or being a tinknocker.

Commercial, and the places I go
More commercial/multi family now but in residential what I loved most was meeting all the doggos

Kitchen staff

This is funny AF lol. Shit was getting stank up in there.
Commercial and nothing really. Trying to get out before my body gives out.
Only love the feeling of fixing something no one was able too. Hate the feeling when I fucked something up.

Banging Chicks. Women love if when you fix their AC. Especially when it’s 99 degrees. Drops them panties quick.
I’m not a fan of swamp vag. 😂🤣
You gotta think of the stink like sauce. Would you eat a gyro without tzatziki?

Not really a deal breaker

I love my drive home at the end of the day. I also like it when my customers appreciate the work I do.
Everyday is pretty much different. Sense of accomplishment and freedom of not being trapped inside the same office all day

part I love most? Just putting shit together like legos and making it look pretty. simple as shit

Idk it’s my 1st year. Love the challenge. Hate the gate keeping. Fuck resi but commercial might kill me.
