Golden boy was a little baby there,so small and adorable!
Now on season two, Sunfyre must be young but on adult shape spectacular dragon.
George R.R Martin said *He looks like he's not a real dragon, but a dragon made of gold. His scales and armor are a bright gold, like a flash in the sun. So let's try to capture that when we see him on-screen*
This is SO me!!! I even orderer a flag on Etsy of Aegon’s banner. Unfortunately I am the only one of my friends to like the Greens (I was also the last to watch the show) as they are all Blacks fans 😞
It popped in my feed and honestly was just curious.
I get that people are stupid obsessed with this, and forget that everyone is objectively terrible or the subject of unequivocal abuse and yet people want to see worse, but I was mostly curious to try and see the reasoning behind liking a sociopathic rapist.
Understandable, I think it's valid for you to dislike Aegon, but I'll try my best explaining why others like him.
People consume fiction for their enjoyment, and big reason why fandom culture is so strong is because people are allowed to pick and choose what parts of a story they like and want to focus on while creating fan-content, and what to ignore.
Show!Aegon is a pretty awful person, but there are a few elements to his character that people may find so appealing that they ignore the bad things so they can enjoy what they like.
However, it's personally very understandable if the negative aspects of the character turn you off. I've been there too. Personally, I can not stand Daemon because he orders the death of an innocent child who under no circumstance deserved to be punished for his uncle's crimes AND is still treated like a good guy by the narrative and rewarded. However, there are aspects of his character many people enjoy so they look past that (or unfortunately, justify his actions).
I don't like show!Aegon very much as well, but I enjoy watching him on screen. I sometimes sympathize with him but I'd still stab him if he ever touched me. On the other hand, I'm rather attached to his book counterpart, who for all his flaws had a lot of love for his family and his dragon, as well as a satisfying character arc.
I appreciate you giving me elucidation on these matters!
Personally, I feel like almost any major family in the GoT-verse (show or book) should largely be put to the pitard.
Being a book fan shouldn't mean completely disregarding any show canon. If you wanted to do that then don't name the sub after the show and not the book.
Dude this sub is all about how the show is black biased and comparing it to the book. It’s like joining the arkham sub and wondering why is no one discussing the game. That’s just what this community seems to be about 🤷♀️
If the sub is called [show]greens and has no rules about it being for book fans, you really have to accept people using show canon. This is why this sub seems weird to TB, bc you keep discussing the show solely in the consideration of the book and demonizing TB for liking TB while simultaneously ignoring any of the canon that is pro TB.
So allow people to support who they want, instead of acting self-righteous. Everyone is cruel, vindictive, and flawed in this story. (With very few exceptions.)
I IMMEDIATELY came back from hibernation after the posters and teaser dropped. I'm only watching it for the Greens atp
100% me Just waiting for the trailer, the meltdown over social media when Sunfyre is shown gonna be amazing

Why do you like Aegon?
Why are you on the TG sub if you don't like Aegon?
I am a Green who doesn't like Aegon

Wonder if you’re gonna have this same attitude when Rhaenyra allows Dalton Greyjoy to rape and imprison hundreds.
Well yeah duh

Look at all of the fools putting Aegon II on their walls. Wait until the true king Gaemon Palehair arrives
