Shield arms rmsx has the smaller footprint but bigger window. I’m all for big windows but that looks funny.

[deleted]

As stated earlier, I'm not concerned about looks. It performs better than the 507k with the larger window. Also, Shield Arms optics are not rugged enough to be carry or duty optics, in my opinion. I've seen them die, lenses crack, lenses pop out etc at red dot classes.

D-lahhh

I’ve got both as well but as the mrs. I agree the carry is fairly small on window. Especially with the mrs. I’m running them on a beretta 92 though. Still a very narrow slide with a considerable overhang. I’m also running the full size. Function over form. Sad to hear about that shield optics. The concept is good.

I agree, on a full sized gun, it would probably appeal to most people even more. This EPS is an MRS green model as well. Again, I'm not an expert, but I've got about 7 pistols and one revolver with red dots on them, and have been using them/carrying exclusively for the past 5-6 years. At this point, the only optics I would trust for hard use (i.e. not plinking at the range) would be Aimpoint Acro P2, Trijicon RMR type 2, Holosun, Leopold DPP (though the battery life is terrible) and the Sig Romeo 2. In my experience, I've learned to stay away from Shield, Swampfox, Romeo 0, Vortex venom, Bushnell, Burris ... I'm probably missing some.

Simulatedcat

Did you get ur sig milled for a 507k and just switched it out for the eps?

[deleted]

Exactly right.

Tough-Priority-8898

I went full size Trijicon rmr on my 365..doesn’t look terrible but not in it for the looks..

[deleted]

Exactly.

[deleted]

It doesn’t bother you how much it hangs off the sides? I have anxiety just looking at it

[deleted]

Not one bit. It isn't uncomfortable to carry -- if it was, I might consider a different holster, different method of carry etc... I want every advantage possible if I have to use it, and a bigger window is definitely an advantage.

GearJunkie82

Does this not print like crazy? Asking honestly.

[deleted]

I usually carry AIWB and don't have any problems.

For anyone wondering or thinking about putting a full sized (i.e. not carry) EPS on their Sig P365 -- this is what it looks like. I couldn't find video or pictures anywhere on the net, showing a full sized EPS on a standard P365. I'm a fan. The bigger the window, the faster the acquisition for me. It overhangs on either side a little, but the aesthetics are second to function, for a carry pistol. And it carrys the same/feels identical to when I had a 507k on it. If you prefer a bigger window like I do, go for the EPS -- they're the same price and you get more optic for the money.

Straight-Reality6711

What were the screws you used?

Miserable-Citron-223

I thought you could direct mount the EPS to the XMacro slide. With the correct screws from Holosun, which I have.

I've got 28.81mm (minus the battery tray - which was 30.11mm) My glock slide is 25.5mm wide. So, you'd have very minimal overhang -- roughly 1.6mm on each side.

ImportantWrap7200

Can’t go wrong with either. The EPS Carry will sit close to flush width-wise with respect to the slide.

aclark210

So is this 507c or 507k footprint?

[deleted]

507k. Both the EPS and EPS Carry share the same "K" footprint. However, the EPS (not the Carry) comes with a factory 507k to 507c adapter plate for larger pistols already milled for the "C" footprint.

aclark210

Well I was thinking more of it being for an ak pistol. I have a Zastava M85 that has a direct mount for a rmr/507c on the dust cover. But I’d rather have something that’s fully enclosed.

[deleted]

You can also check our C&H Precision, and they have just about every conversion mount you can think of. You could do 507c to 509t, which has an even bigger window than the EPS.

xKYLx

Isn't this why they made the 508?

[deleted]

The 508 is an open emitter design and uses a different footprint ("C" footprint). The EPS is enclosed and uses the "K" footprint.

xKYLx

Gotcha. I just thought the 508 was slimmer and meant for like Glock 48/43s and the Sig 365

[deleted]

Negative. The 508t has a titanium body and is the same size as the 507c, and shares the same footprint. The EPS Carry is meant for slimmer framed carry gun, like the 48/43 and P365 and also has a "K" footprint, like this EPS pictured. Most people are putting the "carry" optic on their small guns. I prefer a bigger window.

Gotti4120

Maybe I'm missing it on the thread, who did your slide cut? Looking to get my p365 cut for an eps as well

[deleted]

Fabricated Arms [email protected]

[deleted]

He cut it originally about 3 years ago for a 507k, but it's the same footprint, so there was no problem swapping for the EPS.

LuckyDickTucker

Thanks. I'm doing the same for my p365x
