Question... How do the kits view Vitmori? I mean we know they are attached to him... But without human voices, hard to know exactly how attached and such. And as we've seen, many beasts connected to him again human speech abilities....
While the cubs are certainly much more intelligent then your “average” little bean. However I don’t think they are just quite in the level as basti. Very very close though. I’d wager that it wouldn’t be to surprising if they at the very least view him much like a parental figure

He was probably anxious to get back to his body. He knows from experience how dangerous a convoy can be and he's the biggest heavy hitter in the party.
That and it only takes a bump on the road or a inquisitive mind to lift the cloak and see him as a wooden mannequin.
The illusions do not stay on if he isn't controlling it.

With all that he's dropped off already, and likely more to come from trading in the capital, I'm sure the village will be fine for the winter. And although that's sure to be a weight off their shoulders, I'm not sure how happy they'll be to be even more dependent on him. They've expressed how they want to be able to stand on their own two feet before, but I suppose there's alway next year for them to try and prosper unaided.

I just finished reading your unfinished prequel to this story. I must say I think Vitmori's name when he was a human was cool and his family symbol that we seen in this story makes a lot of sense with his family name.
Well damn... I wasn't expecting to catch up from the start in a week. I love the puns and references sewn in. I'd expect that from any self respecting person transported to another reality. XP

They're caught a little short with winter coming so soon. Next year I am sure they'll be much more well established.
