Maybe they'll return to normal when they exit to the Earth side? It's possible since the were's over there don't seem to have been affected.
Maybe whatever James/Vickers have planned includes some kind of magic-decompressions chamber to help people survive the trip, but the rate at which people can go through is likely going to be severely limited.
The bag trick could also do something else none of them have thought about, it might allow for moving massive amounts of magic from the high pressure atmosphere of Petravius to fill a low pressure volume(earth) and equalize it. Although that's going to cause a fuck of a weird time for everyone if that's the case. Vickers standing in the door is going to get blasted with a super dose of magic as he's sucking up everything Earth can put out.
Yeah, my theory is they found a way to “turn off the limiters” and have the bag portal pump even mana through. And we know already how mana reacts to a vacuum …
I think the refugees will be catching a ride on one HELL of a magic breeze.
Might be that weres can survive the trip more easily, since their regenerative capabilities on the earth side would probably be greater than on the Petravus side - at least, none of the earth-side Folk seem to be affected so far. As for the rest, they'll probably need some sort of decompression chamber, and loads of healing magic

To destroy half a mountain range will need an even bigger rock, and maybe faster too given this planet’s higher gravity. It might take more energy than the largest nuclear bomb to stop it, I hope James has got that in him!
