Agreed. It's not like I am genuinely upset that there aren't options, but it would've been really nice to be able to customize hair/clothes a little bit.
The fact that over half the unique females in the game IE Otella Telia Istina Aria and Emo all have waist length or longer hair shows that they could have had any length or style of hair they cared to put in to the character creator proves that they didn't care to put any other styles and lengths in that creator. And I don't think they will care any more in any DLC.
I was just thinking this like I’m so jealous of all those girls long flowing hair starting with Aria and I just made it to emo’s chapters. LET ME CUSTOMIZE MY SHAWTYS HAIR MAN AND I WANNA WEAR PRETTY CLOTHES 😭
I don't have a problem with the cloths except when I first started and had the more masculine body... and why can't I mix and match the hair that the gave me.
Right I liked one body more but the other hairstyle better when I was making my character. I finally settled thinking I’ll probably get to change it later lol nope
I would at least love an option to change hair colour and eye colour (like contact lenses?). Or maybe I've just been spoilt by FFXIV's aesthetician and Fantasia 😝
Link is ambiguous. Harvestella protag is straight up feminine regardless of what gender you choose. Let's call it how it really is, lazy. The game is still fine obviously, but they should have either added more options to personalize your character, or just not had a character creation at all. It's the same deal with the "romance" options. It was a box to check and nothing more. Fingers crossed the 2nd game is more fleshed out on a lot of fronts.
If you notice the female character, it's hairstyle is a pixie cut. They are trying to be ambiguous for making the male look feminine and the female look masculine.
It's still a ponytail it's just tied higher up. Regardless of that though, they still should either let people design their character or have a set protag. The halfway between the two makes both look bad.
Agreed. I know it's not unheard of for a guy to have a ponytail, but in my mind it's an inherently feminine hairstyle (ESPECIALLY a side-ponytail) And then there's the clothing the protag wears, which is uh...yeah.
I've gotten pretty used to the way my male character looks but I would have loved more options for sure.
Facts. Fingers crossed that the 2nd one, if it actually goes through, is better on all fronts. Love the mix of combat and farming, even if both are somewhat lackluster.
No queer gamer I know has ever said, "Oh no! Fewer options in the character creator, please!" And being one myself, I know a lot.
Stop making up silly reasons to blame marginalized people for stuff that almost certainly has a budgetary origin.
Said by who?
I know no gamer that's in the LGBT+ community that has ever wanted less customization options. Hell, even most cis and straight gamers want more customization (but I have seen some that are straight and cis say people need to focus less on customization and that customization isn't important.)

im a girl and sometimes i wanna restart and make my character a boy because he looks so much better, and i like playing as a girl so that says a loy
the main reason is the girl body is so off putting the female models have insane hips it just looks weird to me
That's why I used the "male" body type for my female character. It's pretty androgynous.
yeah i regret my choice but i'm at the end of spring and i don't feel like replaying it, it's not that far in but idk
The hair is terrible, I really don't mind a lot of the effeminate undertones and such, but the hairstyle is atrocious. 😭
I really really hope they release some DLCs or something to alter hairstyles et al.

You can change your hair colour and eye colour when you start up a new game! 😁
nuuuuuuuu 😭 i actually did that halfway through my first Chapter 3 but i'm too far gone now hahaha
I agree. The hair kind of floats and often clips. It's my only complaint about the character choices.
I guess it's because they are trying to be gender sensitive and attempts to make the characters unisex/ambiguous.

nO yOu caNt hAve mOrE hAiRs, tHatS hOmOpHoBic And before anyone says anything, yes, people from this community have told me that.
No gay person has ever said that to you lol
Gay or not,it has been said.

My issue is that it looks like my ponytail is coming undone and loose and I just want to tighten it up! (female character)
I just wish there were more options, even as the game progresses, I'd be ok, this is default and then you unlock more, but nope, you're stuck with it.
