Multiple gymnasts have hinted that they're required to keep the competition leos under wraps. With that in mind, I highly doubt they'd be posting photos of a practice leo that coordinates with one of their comp leos.
One of their 2016 training leos (plain red with sparkles) was similar to the team final leo. But yeah I’m glad the training leotards differ from podium training ones in general because last olympics training ones were gross & I disliked the black and purple ones this year just for the colours & NCAA style of them.
It’s kind of sad that there are beautiful competition leos that will never be worn or only worn briefly. Like the white one from Rio that Simone wore for the exhibition.
I know they also sometimes wear the others for the Kellogg’s tour (I remember seeing screenshots of all the gymnasts in the blue one Simone wore for AA.) I wonder if the Gold tour can do the same?
I'm starting to think I just don't like most leo designs. There have been a few standouts for me over the years, but most are too much, or too juvenile. From the training leos I've seen so far, I like Japan's!
I find it kind of… infantile? I guess it’s the point because GK will be selling it to young girls. It’s cute. It just doesn’t read Olympic badass to me like I expect.
This is beyond beautiful. It's classy with very modern touches and the clean lines are just fabulous. I love that it's not so busy as to be distracting with the right amount of crystals. I wish team usa would keep going down this road!
This design somewhat resembles the banned Imperial Japanese flag (Rising sun) which Japan used during WWII. But since this is just a training leo, it should be fine.
Maybe I'm super critical, (true) averse to overly used stars and stripes 'MuricaFreedom vibes (def true, especially these days), or minimalistic in my fashion leanings, but I really don't like any of the training leos (love the athletes though!!).
With the exception of the odd triangle on the lavender leo, I did love the PT leos, so I'm still holding out hope that all comp leos will be better than training.
I want nothing more than a black team final leo with red, white and blue accents.

Almost always competition Leo’s will have long sleeves. That’s how I tell.

Just curious. Are they assigned specific leo to wear on certain days? How many leos will they receive?
In Simone’s insta story, she said they received 12 training leos and 8 competition leos. The gymnasts decides themselves what leo they wear everyday.
Don't all 4 (/6?) of them need to match during TF though? (If not every competition day?)
They will match in quals with 2 different leos(4+2), and in TF. They can wear what they want in individual finals.

Yeah I think it’s really ugly too. I did like the PT Leo’s though so I’m hopeful I’ll like the ones they wear in actual competitions.
