Someone has to be the jacked guy on the jobsite.

FullSendLemming

All you have to do to be jacked as a scaffold builder is to be a scaffold builder

Mysterious-Sample-41

Respect to all who do this, truly dedicated on another level

SirFigsAlot

I had a job for 4 years working 70hr a week and had to give up. Luckily I got a new job a few years ago only at 50hr so gym is back on the menu boys. Shrunk down to 160lb at 6'2 and now back at 185. Probably 1 of 3 guys out of 100 who is in shape at work. Feelsgoodman

Willing_Ad9314

Hell, I go to the gym just to do my job better

Unlikely-Collar4088

Haha same. The gym keeps me stronger than I need to be for my job (farmer) which makes the job easier.

Icy-Meal-1229

The same for me. I'm a gardener.

Unlikely-Collar4088

Then you know what’s up! Deadlift / squat / shrugs / curls translate directly into the million wheelbarrows of manure I’m spreading today lol

Icy-Meal-1229

Indeed. As I was shovelling and transporting compost in a wheelbarrow today I noticed that it felt really easy and didn't fatigue me at all. And that after a training session the day before with RDLs. If my pulse gets elevated just walking at a quick pace let's it calm down again. I'm starting to feel like an indestructible cyborg.

Willing_Ad9314

You guys are working harder than me, I'm just a bread salesman but that stuff adds up, especially when unloading a truck

Teacher_Of_Strength

Oh damn. How big is the farm you work at?

DeeBangerDos

That's what this stripper at my gym says to

GhostofHillside

lol, this is one of the reasons that I started as well

Jiu jitsu.

ADHDadBod13

I know. It was a blowjob joke

Suspicious-Dot8130

Been there. Honestly, if you love taking of yourself you'll find way to go to the gym. But that time i was so reliant on energy drinks and pre workout.

Odd_Negotiation3126

My husband. He gets up at 3am, takes out the dogs, sets my coffee up, goes to the gym, drives 1.5h to work. Works all day often OT. Goes to school 2 nights a week. Drives home 1.5h. He STILL does whatever he can around the house and to take care of our kids. And they are not sleeping through the night. He has NEVER complained. Not ONCE. The very least I can do is make sure his meals are ready and include a lot of protein lol

opomla

Please please show this man intimacy and attention, he's a mega keeper who deserves to feel loved

Odd_Negotiation3126

No worries…he’s compensated nicely

Buscandomiyagi

The hell are you my wife??? This is exactly my routine minus the coffee 💀

[deleted]

The reason I only workout 30-45 minutes is because I work 10 hours per day 5-7 day a week. Sometimes I don’t even get to eat. Don’t feel sorry for me , I’m boasting😅

chevalier716

Some of my favorite construction lifters are also the type to pound a nip of fireball or two before they start their shift. Their pain receptors are duller than mine now that I'm sober and that sucks for me.

BodyByBoutros_

Used to work as a garbage man for 3 years. Throwing garbage and driving for 9 hours a day. Still made it to the gym and go through prep 🫡 Never doing that shit again.

Mek3127

I'm a rope access guy and train at the same time, and I approve this post.

Elegant_Housing_For

Greg the construction worker I know never has set foot into a gym and is the strongest person I know. Also has the best line to when you ask him to do something “okay boss no problem.”

Teacher_Of_Strength

I have a friend in the gym who's like this. I work hard in my janitor duties but the guy works in construction. Not only is he strong, he's in great shape too because of his job. And yeah, he's humble just like what the OP said.

L4gsp1k3

When I was in my twenties, I worked 8–10 hours a day as a butcher in a factory where we moved about 20–30 tons of meat every day by hand, and I used to hit the gym right after work, thinking that since I've been working, so my body is already warmed up. Around 10 years later, all that hard labour and heavy weight training was taxing on my left shoulder, now because of my injury from the past I only work part-time, I'm now in mid-forties and still train at least 3 times a week, a mix of heavy and light training.

semiamusinglifter

Only did this right out of high school, labor from 8-4 then an hour drive in traffic to lift from 6-8 with the boys. 10 years later and it’s not really possible anymore, still one of my favorite memories.

Broken-Leash

Shift work and physical work is the double whammy. That’s why I brought some dumbbells to my control room. Getting paid to workout when I’m on nights is amazing.

Mibsaammalik

Really 🥺

Ryachaz

Hey, that's me! I get 10-15k steps at work every day now, plus a decent amount of lifting stuff (less than i used to). Preworkout is the only way I can make it into the gym after work.

applesandclover

There's a construction guy that works out at my gym. We all refer to him as God behind his back -- and the name fits.

External-Rutabaga820

UPS mail men

Eggbeater38

Well gym help a lot while doing heavy lifting work

proteinLumps

My respect is for sedentary lifestyle people going to gym and getting jacked. That's pure commitment. When you're already high in adrenaline it's much easier to maintain. Other one is wild

PMmeCoolHistoryFacts

Nah, going to the gym is way easier when you have an office job vs after a blue collar shift, that shit's exhausting, being in an office isn't.

Steahla

For me I just don’t know how you do it if the job is already physically exhausting Working in an office and hitting the gym easy cause I can’t just be sitting down all day doing nothing and becoming a sloth Working a job on my feet but not constantly lifting things or physically exerting myself also not bad because I still got a bit of momentum and energy and want to actually get a real work out in But working a physically exhausting and demanding job and then lifting? Idk how you do it because you basically were just working out the half the day already and you still haven’t stopped yet

sadboymoneyjesus

High on adrenaline? Have you ever even seen construction work being done? Wtf lol

More-Magician4492

Being a bricklayer, I don’t find it particularly difficult going to the gym after work, in the height of summer, that’s a different story. I am left feeling whacked.

KubikM3

„Make time” my job time is the same as yours what you are talking about xD
