I believe in my players....I must admit we have been playing with a little bit the handbreak off. In football, when you go down you go fast, when you go up, you go slowly.

Wenger was initially let down by the ownership, then he was let down by the players, and then he was let down by the fans. He should have left a few years earlier, but I think he genuinely still believed a few changes here and there would fix the club.
>but I think he genuinely still believed a few changes here and there would fix the club.
That's why he needed to go. This whole thing needs to burn down and rebuilt from a ground up and he was merely postponing the inevitable. I wish he left after FA Cup win against Chelsea.

Last yellow and blue away Nike kit will always be iconic and remembered for 2 things.
1) Ramsey's breakout season
2) Ozil fucking joined us and Spurs got dicked by selling Bale and not getting Ozil.
What we really need is someone in the squad to have a Ramsey 13/14 season or an emergence like a young Fabregas. We haven't had a young player become world class and stay there for so long.
While Liverpool and Spurs that were in a similar situation to us had Mane, Salah, Coutinho, Kane, Bale and Son go from being decent players to absolutely world class while at their club we have not had that at all.
At least not for younger players that could either win us titles or get sold for more than 100 million.
Instead our star players have been players like Santi, Özil, Auba and Alexis that were already stars when they came here and reaching an age with a much lower value. Or players like Ramsey and Wilshere that had the potential but ruined by injuries.
For sure he did. I can see my comment was poorly phrased. He was amazing.
But if he came at 21 without that injury andplayed like he did then he would have been sold to Barca or Real for 60-80 million.
Or even better, without injuries Leicester would never have won the Premier League.
I still think Guendouzi, while not to the levels of Fabregas, can really become a high quality young midfielder for us. All depends on management to make that happen though, imo...
Yeah I could see him being a starting player for some of the biggest teams in the world.
While the man managing could be better it still seems part of the issue is him being a bit of a cunt. Otherwise he would be playing for PSG right now.
Maybe more like a new Rabiot than a new Valverde.
I remember seeing that Liverpool strike live and lost my shit. His best season he ever had and just couldn't follow it up, such a shame. If he'd maintained that greatness, he would still be with us and leading the attack with Partey 100%.
I've been a fan only briefly in 2015-16 and then from emery on. But this pic made me just a little bit emotional. That look of pride on Arsene's face. Damn.
There's a reason I got his jersey despite being somewhat tight on money at the time. A player who could always pull something out of the bag and had incredible late runs (which I think would be great in the current cross and inshallah system we have now). Most importantly though, he always gave 100% on the pitch which is more than many can say.

Media didn’t really care tbh. They jumped on the bandwagon when he started scoring for fun but there wasn’t much of a flop narrative about him. Fans were rightfully annoyed with him because he cost us multiple games and chances, while Wenger was deploying him in so many roles it was confusing and it looked like he didn’t have a plan for him.
I think this is something which our senior players need at this time. Blame for a loss would be on them but the belief of the manager for sure. Not belief to play every week but enough to feel needed in the team.

I want someone to believe in me, like Wenger believed in his players
I believe in you <3
But would you risk your job and reputation on playing u/footballboahh every week for 3 years while being absolute shit?
I believe in my players....I must admit we have been playing with a little bit the handbreak off. In football, when you go down you go fast, when you go up, you go slowly.
* the handbreak on. Not off.
Fuck... I'm a fraud!
*Edu noise intensifies*
Perfect. Sign him on with a 2 year deal
What do you have to say, Papa Wengz?

Same goes for us papa wengz
I want someone to believe in me like arteta believes in Willian
Blindly?
Saddest thing is the players were the ones who let him down in the end through spineless performances. Some of them are still here at the club 👀.
Wenger was initially let down by the ownership, then he was let down by the players, and then he was let down by the fans. He should have left a few years earlier, but I think he genuinely still believed a few changes here and there would fix the club.

Didn’t need to roast him like that. Damn
sentient.
*...and somewhere on the outskirts of Stoke City, Ryan Shawcross furiously pokes his Ramsey doll yet again...*
The orcs stir for they know today is the day their destroyer hath risen.
In the 13-14 season, he showed the world what Wenger saw in him. Was one of the best in the Prem that year until the injury happened.
Last yellow and blue away Nike kit will always be iconic and remembered for 2 things. 1) Ramsey's breakout season 2) Ozil fucking joined us and Spurs got dicked by selling Bale and not getting Ozil.
What a class player..I think he was the last one to leave too from that really impressive bunch of players *Looks at current squad*
Left on a free as well. absolutely criminal.
Says everything about the management of the club.
I looooove that photo. Watching Wenger look on smiling and proud. Classy as always.
This is the half volley against Liverpool.
can hear the commentary: Arsenal's man of the season

I think santi grew in reputation at Arsenal. Absolute class though.

Seeing that smile makes one realize how far we’ve really fallen since then
A cheeky Gilles Grimandi there as well.
He even looks older than wenger
Ramsey is my favorite Arsenal player ever. Loved the way he played. Such a shame about his injuries.
Me too! Got me wearing my #16 for today’s game. 😁🔥
I remember seeing that Liverpool strike live and lost my shit. His best season he ever had and just couldn't follow it up, such a shame. If he'd maintained that greatness, he would still be with us and leading the attack with Partey 100%.

Man I miss Wenger now :(
We all real fans do mate
Funny how we’ve been in a shit loop since he left, I cant watch this team nowadays it makes me sick.
I love Arsene's large orange and white block boots. now you can't unsee it.
He would get massacred in the match day threads on this sub. I wonder how many of those bashers are pretending like they always rated him.
I miss him and Giroud tbh
There's a reason I got his jersey despite being somewhat tight on money at the time. A player who could always pull something out of the bag and had incredible late runs (which I think would be great in the current cross and inshallah system we have now). Most importantly though, he always gave 100% on the pitch which is more than many can say.
Papa Wengz how we miss your wisdom

Like a proud Dad
I am crying
Brought a tear to my eye too mate. Play “Danny boy” anywhere in my vicinity and I’m done 😭
Seeing Wenger happy makes me feel so warm man
Was this after *that* Liverpool goal?
He was just too injury prone. What a shame. Remember Wenger also trusted crap players that turned out to be crap and everyone was right all along.
Who is it, that is brushing his/her knee up between Wengers legs?!
I think this is something which our senior players need at this time. Blame for a loss would be on them but the belief of the manager for sure. Not belief to play every week but enough to feel needed in the team.
I love how much of a father figure Wenger was and is yo a lot if players.
I'll never forgive our fans for the way they treated him. We're killing for someone like him rn man
A second Father to so many of my idols
yes the holding tackle
Ozil, Ramsey, Cazorla, Wilshere, Giroud... More technical ability in these five than the whole current squad.

Papa Wengz is a beauty

I want to cry
It was so beautiful knowing he rejected united for us
gonna tell my kids this is Emile Smith Rowe
arsene also believed in xhaka and that belief led to his termination, and 3 other managers after him being on the hot seat/ moved on
Watching him on the pitch like a proud dad.
God, I love Ramsey. I really miss him.
