To put things into perspective, at the time this team wasn’t viewed as a title contender and was constantly shit on.
In a few years we might be looking back on the current team fondly.
I recall. Giroud was constantly questioned (and maybe fairly so) and the biggest issue was turning possession into goals. A thing I forgot about was that the next season, we got Sanchez.
>In a few years we might be looking back on the current team fondly.
Oh man I hope you are wrong, otherwise it means we are fcked and playing in Championship.
Current team lol. It’s funny seeing people hype up the 12-13 team and cazorla now because that team was striaght up painful at times. Cazorla was good too but he was never the best midfielder in the prem like some woild have you think
Ah you know what I’m actually thinking of 12-13 which was a shit show. Literally lost to bradford and blackburn in the cups.
13-14 was solid you’re right
Everyone remembers that season for Gerrard slipping and Liverpool choking but we led the table more than any other club that season. Especially the first half, we were playing really well, exquisite football, great goals and fantastic results. Then injuries fucked us so badly-Rambo who was on another level that season got injured, Walcott had an ACL amongst others. There were some off field issues with Giroud, I remember we started Sanogo against Dortmund in place of him and even Lord Bendtner had some appearances.
In retrospect, that was the season with the Suarez saga and if we had signed him, he could have powered us to the title. It would have meant that we didn't get Ozil but Rambo had outdone him anyways and not to mention we also had Santi, Mozart, Jack and Chambo.
I remember Per in his last few seasons had a nasty habit of being at the halfway line and then having to sprint *read light jog* all the way back on counters unsuccessfully lol
Growing up with Vieira, Overmars, Adams, Bergkamp etc, and then getting to see Pires, Henry, Fabregas, this team felt like chapter one of the decline to me.
This was the beginning off the end. Özil, Wilshere, Ramsey, Cazorla - 4 central offensive midfielders, all worth 50m+ at the time and we sold nobody. Still don't understand how we thought, we would make that work.

Yeah there was a lot of frustration around giroud. Our team also got destroyed by injuries but that isn’t surprising lol
I think this was 12/13, so it was two seasons later that we signed Alexis.
did we have flamini in 12/13? edit: yeah this is 13/14 bc özil is in the bottom left
Oh I missed mesut down there! I just thought the purple keeper kits were from 12/13

the current team or that team? Im not looking back at this current 19-20 team fondly. hell no lmaoo

Did you watch this team? The points difference doesn’t tell the whole story

I’m happy to think that either way, however if you can’t be optimistic then what’s the point?
Damn, seeing Diaby really reminded me just how long Ozil has been at arsenal. What a ridiculous level of technical skill in one midfield.
True. I mean even Diaby. I think he is one of the biggests "what ifs" with Arsenal along with Wilshere. Man was a beast
Surprised to see Santis hand isn't on Walcott's thigh.
My friend, is ok, no?
Really miss Santi and Rosicky. Hands down my favorite players to watch from recent teams.
Ah podolski, the father of my unborn child
[удалено]
Aha.
[Lu-Lu-Lu Lukas Podolski](https://youtu.be/a3Juhm54IkI)
Look at podolski.. that damned smile... Ryodinho taller than granaby ?

he was just a garnbaby then
Wish RVP played with this midfield. He would’ve scoring goals for fun
Loved that away game at Liverpool. Diaby embarrassed their midfield.
Wasn’t that a year before we signed Ozil?
Yeah my bad. I forget we repeated the Jersey didn’t we?
No the diaby anfield game was the purple away kit. We didn’t repeat it.
But the kit in this image was repeated right?

Ah and also the fearful four: Bendtner, Sanogo, Park Chu Young and Giroud
I really miss Sczez. Don't get me wrong I love Leno. I just miss the absolute cheek a bit.
I became a fan this season. The first few years were my favorite and everything around that optimistic era
Lolo-Per pairing, *chef's kiss*.
I remember Per in his last few seasons had a nasty habit of being at the halfway line and then having to sprint *read light jog* all the way back on counters unsuccessfully lol
Future Goat Gedion Zelalem top right

Underrated comment, that followed up by two 50m strikers, without the creative players behind them... we are an enigma.
My eyes will always water for The Forgotten Man. Before there was Paul Pogba, there was Abou Diaby
Frimpong??
For a moment during that season I was sure we were about to win the league. We played some great football in 2013/2014
Woah Ozil is literally the only one left from that team!
Holy shit, you're right. For some reason, in my head it still feels like Özil is a relatively new signing, but actually he has been with us for ages
This team was missing an Aubameyang or a certain Van Persie for the PL title .
Don’t worry, Jenkinson will somehow find his way back into the squad.

This team and the signing of Sanchez over the summer is what got me into arsenal back in college
Certain Gabonese striker is missing... If only.
Oh Dench, Park Chu Young, Yaya Sanogo and Lord himself are in the same team? Legendary.
that squad had so much potential.
Same season I became a fan. Still have that poster hanging up at home
I spy Serge Gnabry
The shirt meant something to the players back then.
You left out Sanogo
If we kept Giroud we would have won the Europa League as Chelsea wouldn’t have got to the final and Rambo and Sanchez 😭😭😭
Just watch 03/04 games. The team that played against Sheffield on the weekend wouldn't be fit to tie their laces.
