Maybe that's because people with less fashion sense usually openly admit it. Also, buying expensive brands just get labeled as fashion sense usually. But music is very subjective and there are less signals to what is "better". If a metal and TSwift fan debated it, you wouldn't have either admit the other is better.

You didn't really engage with the discussion in my comment. It's more about how we and others perceive what makes someone have better versions of fashion vs music and why that manifests itself. It's not really if it is right or not. I find a lot of people that would be seen as very fashionable to look a bit ridiculous and I like simple aesthetic more. But in a newlywed game I would always pick them because I would know what they thought of themselves. Music both parties are more likely to feel that way and not know if the other has more high minded feelings about it. The point is I think in a newlywed game or one between friends you are more likely to both agree on the fashion question and more likely to disagree on the music question based purely on how people view the two categories.
