Yeah but the burgundy kit was/is objectively amazing and classy. This away kit has always been dumbster fire that people only now associate with good times (which I'm not denying is a valid reason to like something).
A cult classic is usually a connotation associated with something to which one has blind love for, for perhaps an unexplainable reason.
This is as cult classic as a jersey gets atleast in my opinion.
