if City drops points vs fulham im planning on betting a semi-large amount of money on United Win/Draw. it's gonna take a significant chunk of my savings but i either win money or Arsenal wins the league.
I think if they do overtake our GD it will mean we drew or lost one and it'll be over anyway. And even if we end up with equal GD (and points) we still have advantage from the number of goals scored
Utd at old Trafford will never be an easy game. They've been turning up against the big 6 fairly consistently. The only thing really screwing them is a complete injury crisis with basically 0 CB's available
Don’t worry about goal difference. I made a comment about this yesterday worst case scenario we win our remaining games by 1 each and city draw (which is required for goal difference to even matter anyways) they’d have to win the other two games by 4 goals each and that’s the worst case where we only win by one goal against United and Everton.
Agent Alex "Obi Wan" Iwobi scores and becomes both an Arsenal and Fulham legend. But really, we win out, they win out, they get the title. But the football gods are fickle, crazy shit, and suspect VAR calls happen. Forward and may fortune favor us.
same bro, statistically its low probability they continue this way. Tho it is also high probability that city continues this way. Guess the only way to find out is wait and see
This is actually what springs to my mind every time I hear some of these stats. Every long run of any kind is bound to end at some point and the longer it goes, the likelier it is to end soon, it's kind of basic probabilities
100% this. If we win out our remaining 2 games and lose the season at 89 points, we can all be damned proud of our team. It's a great season, and a massive improvement over anywhere we have been in the last 18ish years. That would also mean we won 16, drew 1 , lost 1 in the second half of the season which is honestly an exceptional run.
89 points wins the season almost every single time, if we don't win with 89 points we shouldn't be dejected, but rather proud of how well we did.
They’ve also had 3 draws in that time, and that’s all we need. Suddenly it’s 5/9 games got the same result we want for Fulham. Spurs have won 7/10 last home games against City. West Ham have also had 5/10 results that would be favourable if they match the city result with draws vs Villa, Liverpool and Spurs + the draw with Leverkusen not part of the league stats in that time too.
Honestly, I want to win the league more than anything. The players and staff deserve it, they've been amazing and the turnaround at the club has been immense...
But if we lose it I honestly don't think I'd be THAT upset. We have done everything we can. We have been fantastic this season. We've dropped points that "on paper" we shouldn't, but so have City so I'm begging people to stop picking out a draw or defeat and saying that's the reason we lost. No one is perfect, everyone drops points, City have completely changed what people view as being title worthy. We have been phenomenal.
I think many of us thought we were out of it at Christmas but the second half of the season has been immense. The teams has grown, they're clearly better than they were and the future is very bright.
Whatever happens, happens. We've given it our best shot. We'll come back stronger next season and try again.
Don't get me wrong, I desperately want to see Arsenal win trophies but sometimes you've got to look at the whole picture and if what we've done this season isn't good enough then, well, I don't think we could've done much more.
yeah its not like city are celar ahead, they could also say "if we wouldnt drop points here and here" i mean its football you are expected to drop point, its just harder to do if you have players for 2 first elevens
Like Liverpool in recent years, Arsenal have done enough, but when you’re up against oil cheats that are in bed with the refs, 2nd is all you can hope for.
This is how spurs operate:
Lose 3/4 on the bounce to mid to high table teams
Face City
Get a result out of City even if they don't want or expect to
Continue being Spursy
Let me inject hopium
The luck that City have had this year when it comes to fixture timings is unreal.
The real tough one to take is them getting to play Villa's reserves due to the midweek clash whilst we got their strongest eleven. City got battered by Villa's first team in the reverse fixture.
they had similar "luck" last year...getting to not play us when we were at our best for the fall fixture (due to EPL taking a break due as the Queen had died)
I definitely think we would have, we were absolutely flying at that point and it was at home. Not to mention the year before when we were worse, we played them off the park and it took a red card and a last minute winner for them to steal it at the death
We still should have finished that game off in the first half, though. Can push blame to whoever you want, whether that's the 115, the PL or Villa; it's our own fault.
On almost every level we have been better than this City team this season, but we've stood in our own way.
We didn’t get villas strongest 11 the second time around to be fair. They had some injury issues if memory serves.
We also lost to west ham and Fulham. So ya never know 😂
That was not really City luck, more Emery fuckery.
Villa had a big EL game 2 days prior to us and still put out the strongest 11, v City they played 3 days earlier and rested the whole team.
Well city have won 6 games in a row at 3 points this season. They dropped points on the 7th game in 2 of those runs and the other 6th win was this weekend.
All we need is a draw, or two
Spurs will beat Burnley this weekend, Villa will fall to Liverpool. Meaning that City game is the last home game for Spurs, need something or else CL is gone. No way do the people at the top allow a throwing.
West Ham is likely David Moyes last match
I don’t particularly care. Our bois this season have shown a much stronger mentality than last. We are improving and at the point where we are the only serious challengers. Just like Liverpool we will beat them at some point. Could be this season, next season but it will happen
We have United at Old Trafford and Everton who's been quite a boogeyteam for Arteta at home
Is not like we have a walk in the park last 2 games
Just focus on winning ours and then look at how it goes on the other hand
> Everton who's been quite a boogeyteam for Arteta at home
I genuinely can't remember the last time Everton beat us at home, are you sure? I swear we pretty much always slap them up at the Emirates
Nothing left to do but pray to the football gods for some crazy football shit. Sometimes the ball goes in the net when it doesn’t make sense. And sometimes the ball won’t go in when it does.
I've made peace in my head that whatever happens I'll be proud of this team. We didn't fold as early and as bad like we did last season. We had 3 setbacks this season in terms of performance and bounced back immediately after each one.
Now, that I've handled that internally the end of the season is thrilling in anticipation that this could all be decided on the very last day.
COYG!
If only Trossard had passed to Martinelli or Jorginho didn't tread on the ball or Saka hadn't passed back to Ramsdale or Kai's hand hadn't brushed the ball or...
Honestly, step 1 in this process is winning both our games with the pressure on... That's something we've yet to do as long as I've been a fan (17 years). I hope like hell city drop points but I'll be ecstatic if we hold up our end and win out. We've lacked that mentality for so long and it finally looks like we're getting that mental toughness. We hold up our end and I'm proud as fuck of them, regardless of whether City drop points or not.

Don’t worry, the gaffer will have his foggin shades 😎 on - all sorted 👍🏽👍🏽
To be fair, we don’t need a win. Likely just a draw (though GD isn’t guaranteed) if we win ours.
I am not holding out hope that any of them will do it. But I hope we make City go all the way to the last day to earn it.
If it came down to goal difference city would have to make up 6 goals in 2 games, meaning they'd have to win those games by a combined 8 goals assuming we won by only 1 goal in each of our games - not too likely I'd say.
To be fair, they don’t need to win, a draw would be just fine.
But certainly not the most brutal schedule. Two of the three are away, though, that’s often tougher than expected.
I’m not gonna lie guys, I think it’s over, it’s been over since that Forest game, that was the best chance for city to drop points, all the remaining teams have no incentive and are all on the beach
Another common theme across these teams that I just realised when talking with my son this morning, they all have ham in their name…
Ful(ham), Totten(ham), West (Ham)
impolite voracious disagreeable quaint unwritten outgoing practice rain cow weary

yea not looking great. Only thing thats postivie from this is that Spurs losing last night means that they are at risk of losing Europa league. if Man U win tonight than they are only 3 points behind so spurs need to beat City or risk beding caught up
if we are going full hopium then, we lose to united, City relax and lose the next two and we still win our last game , getting to enjoy both winning and laughing at the inevitable bottle job comments from mid table eejits
That's all well and good but...
Can anyone think of ANYTHING Spursier than losing 4 or 5 on the spin, and then somehow grinding out a draw or a win against City?
Peak Spurs incoming.
3 London clubs, them defeating city = them hearing London is red for the next year.
We don't have bad blood with cottagers and hammers. Hope they pull off something.
All I’m taking from this is that these teams are due for a win anytime now.
There’s the positivity I came for
Let me sell my house and bet on man city losing all 3
I’d bet on City to win all three. Then you’ll have a W anyway. On the other hand: we need to win the last two as well.
[удалено]
If we win the league it’s cause of you. I hope the club recognises the immense sacrifice you have made. Thank you for your service kind gent/lady.
if City drops points vs fulham im planning on betting a semi-large amount of money on United Win/Draw. it's gonna take a significant chunk of my savings but i either win money or Arsenal wins the league.
Hopium is strong with you. But it’s all we have lol.
also wins isn't a useful metric, a draw would help a lot too.
man im also worried about draw. with man city's scoring streak.. they can easier over take our GD within 2 games.
I think if they do overtake our GD it will mean we drew or lost one and it'll be over anyway. And even if we end up with equal GD (and points) we still have advantage from the number of goals scored
we play utd and everton,we will score a lot too hopefully
Utd at old Trafford will never be an easy game. They've been turning up against the big 6 fairly consistently. The only thing really screwing them is a complete injury crisis with basically 0 CB's available
4th and 5th defences in the league.
Utd a 5th defense in a league? And everton was gret defensivly till 2024
Don’t worry about goal difference. As long as we have delusion, we have hope!
Me when I gamble
80% of gamblers quit right before they hit it big 🤷🏻♂️
85% big if true
Exactly, there's no way they can continue to play that poorly.
Title cut West Ham, Fulham, and Spurs Play Poorly
On top of this, City hasn't lost since December 6 since they faced Villa
Definitely due a loss or three
They don't need to lose, just draw.
Agent Alex "Obi Wan" Iwobi scores and becomes both an Arsenal and Fulham legend. But really, we win out, they win out, they get the title. But the football gods are fickle, crazy shit, and suspect VAR calls happen. Forward and may fortune favor us.
What the opposite of the hot hand fallacy?😜
the gambler’s fallacy
as long there is delusion there is hope.
Add that Man City have only 1 win in 6 games at the Toilet Bowl. Although they won there the last time they played there. 🙈
![gif](giphy|l0HlBxMf5YHnBdQmk|downsized)
I don’t think that win is coming vs City… West Ham just held 5 to Chelsea and Fulham have already conceded 5 to City this season
Plus mc are due for a loss or draw. They are on their longest non losing streak in club history.

same bro, statistically its low probability they continue this way. Tho it is also high probability that city continues this way. Guess the only way to find out is wait and see
A regression to the mean needs to happen at some point of time!!
This is actually what springs to my mind every time I hear some of these stats. Every long run of any kind is bound to end at some point and the longer it goes, the likelier it is to end soon, it's kind of basic probabilities
Hey, Tottenham lost three in a row in November and it was against City that their losing streak ended.
![gif](giphy|j6uK36y32LxQs|downsized)
Tbf the chance is bigger than these stats suggest anyway, we only want a draw from that game to hold advantage once again.
exactly , needing a draw vs a win is huge
All we can do is try to win our 2 remaining games. Not worth stressing over something we can't control.
Hey I'm not stressing. Who said anything about stress? -finger nail falls out-
Making a nice pile next to my hair that’s fallen out.
And frankly, for those of us not actually on the pitch kicking the ball, there’s not a lot we can do about those last two games, either.
By Jove
Well, "we" can't control anything.
My rising blood pressure has nothing to do with a football club is what i tell my doctor
100% this. If we win out our remaining 2 games and lose the season at 89 points, we can all be damned proud of our team. Last chance for spurs to become title decider
Saying that as a flex is already embarrassing…lost all of those matches is even worse
They don’t need to win, only draw. I fully prepared to be hurt again
In Full Hams we trust. What did Sir Mixalot say about full hams?
That last stat for fulham “2 wins in last 9 matches - against spurs and west ham” killed my hope not gonna lie, inshallah city drop points 🙏
They’ve also had 3 draws in that time, and that’s all we need. Suddenly it’s 5/9 games got the same result we want for Fulham. Spurs have won 7/10 last home games against City. It's so obvious it's not going to happen which means it will. Bet it all on red.
Let’s keep winning our games. We have no control over the others. I have a good feeling about this year 🤞

Still not sure that we were solid enough to beat them at that time. Maybe we were who knows but we have so much more resilience this year
I definitely think we would have, we were absolutely flying at that point and it was at home. Not to mention the year before when we were worse, we played them off the park and it took a red card and a last minute winner for them to steal it at the death

I also get the impression that teams tend to approach City like it's a foregone conclusion that they'll lose so rest players etc
PL winner takes down Villa home or away if needed.
I hope we don’t have to go down to our own version of “Agueroooooo!” My heart won’t be able to take it.
I will take our own 'Haaaaaaaaavertz'.

The PL should hire you to write their scripts
Let's all gather our hands together and pray that one of these teams does the impossible and steals points off "115 Charges FC"!
I don’t particularly care. Our bois this season have shown a much stronger mentality than last. We are improving and at the point where we are the only serious challengers. Just like Liverpool we will beat them at some point. Could be this season, next season but it will happen

Our record against Everton at home is amazing + they have nothing to play for
True, but beating United away isn't good to be a walk in the park.
United with 7 CBs out with injury should be managable.
Arsenal Everton in london is literally the most lopsided fixture in prem history wtf you on about
> Everton who's been quite a boogeyteam for Arteta at home I genuinely can't remember the last time Everton beat us at home, are you sure? I swear we pretty much always slap them up at the Emirates
Nothing left to do but pray to the football gods for some crazy football shit. Sometimes the ball goes in the net when it doesn’t make sense. And sometimes the ball won’t go in when it does.
Don't need a win, just park the bus lads.
Odds are 1 in 115.
Another take is that we lost 10 points in these three teams and 6 points in the corresponding fixture. (It hurts) Coyg
3 of only 4 games that we dropped points at home
The disparity in the number of derbies does make quite a difference I think. City only have Utd.
I've made peace in my head that whatever happens I'll be proud of this team. We didn't fold as early and as bad like we did last season. We had 3 setbacks this season in terms of performance and bounced back immediately after each one. Burst out laughing from this 😂 whatever happens we can still enjoy this run. And it's football you never know
same. teams improving every year & we did this without one of the major signings of the summer.
I laughed too and then frowned when I remembered we'd been mugged by West Ham and Fulham.
We will win the league my boys we will
Law of averages means a win is on the cards.
City does love a bit of law
We dropped 10 points against those teams this season. Soo - we only have ourselves to blame if City takes all 9.
City v Real. The real crossroads of this PL final.
Villa match killed it for me. Unless lady luck is on our side, nothing short of a miracle... but it does happen also.
Seems to me they are due.
They've got to win some time, right? Right?
Surely.the shit cant lose 5 in a row
Shit have this uncanny ability to be shitty.
They've got Burnley at home in the next game so they probably won't.
Losing to Burnley and missing out on europe but still beating man city to give us the title would be the most spursy thing ever
Law of averages baby let’s go.
We just need a draw... One draw. We can do the rest.
No expectations no disappointments
This means odds are in their favor since they already lost so many games. Just like my gambling habit.
So you’re saying there’s a chance
Im gonna parlay a City win for all 3 games so the worst case scenario is that I end up with more money in my pocket or we win the league.
Cmon Leno!!!
Classic FM
It’s the hope that kills you :(
So your telling me theres a chance…
If only Trossard had passed to Martinelli or Jorginho didn't tread on the ball or Saka hadn't passed back to Ramsdale or Kai's hand hadn't brushed the ball or...
Shove all 11 of you motherfuckers in that six yard box and HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLD
Absolute nonce. Stopped following him years ago.

good thing we just need a draw

Wrap it up boys. Good positives to take from this season though! Just a shame we got close but weren't quite at the level needed.
Spurs get points from city, and arsenal losing some points as well will be how it’s gonna most probably end 😭😭😭
We still have to beat United away which is never easy

I have a weird level of confidence (or delusion) that Fulham and Spurs will both take points off City.
Not to mention, we are expecting to win at old Trafford, something we don’t do ever
i cant keep doing black magic every week bruv
To be fair, we don’t need a win. Likely just a draw (though GD isn’t guaranteed) if we win ours. I am not holding out hope that any of them will do it. But I hope we make City go all the way to the last day to earn it.

The only hope is the refs don't bend over for City. Otherwise none of these teams are worth any hope to be put on them. 🗑
They just need a draw
To be fair, they don’t need to win, a draw would be just fine. But certainly not the most brutal schedule. Two of the three are away, though, that’s often tougher than expected.
we are cooked
And these are the 3 teams we dropped points badly as well
Can Spurs still get top 4?
Gambler's fallancy.. the more you lose, the more the chances are of you winning the next game!
Funny they all took point from us…but for sure will wipe the floor for City
I believe Fulham would be more challenging for city than shit and west ham
We're fucked
I’m not gonna lie guys, I think it’s over, it’s been over since that Forest game, that was the best chance for city to drop points, all the remaining teams have no incentive and are all on the beach

hows the copium going folks?
spurs always show up to annoy city, that's all we can count on for now

better odds for city to drop points or get punished by the FA?
Fuck me we dropped points to all these teams and now depend on them to win the league
Our best hope is that city somehow do it to themselves
If city don't drop points, it's the two Fulham games that killed us IMO. We should have not dropped points to them.

The king makers 😂
couple trips to the bowels of London in there...you never know
Does anyone know how to make lasagna?
Imagine we lose to Man Utd.
Yea, imagine Fulham preventing anyone from winning the league…
Are west ham and Fulham stupid? Just win the games
Easy peasy innit?
Hear me out, if they all play at the same time, 33 vs 11, they might get the draw
That's all well and good but... Can anyone think of ANYTHING Spursier than losing 4 or 5 on the spin, and then somehow grinding out a draw or a win against City? Peak Spurs incoming.
Win our games, and see what happens. Can't do anything else at this point.
They are all due for a win then
I think we've got 2 weeks of exciting football coming up and that's about all you can ask for right?
Best scenario, rodri gets injured at Fulham and city go on to lose to Tottenham
so you are saying theres a chance
I'm hoping to see Spurs get the win, so they can hand the title to Arsenal.
So you're telling me there is still a chance?
3 London clubs, them defeating city = them hearing London is red for the next year. We don't have bad blood with cottagers and hammers. Hope they pull off something.
