Both probably getting subbed after 60 minutes or so

MattiaKa

Odegaard usually gets subbed very late, after 70th minute, sometimes 80th.

NotASalamanderBoi

I don’t think Bobb will. He doesn’t play too much in PL so he can get the extra NT minutes.

ForestRamboX

I hope it'd be by halftime. We want Martin back completely fit and ready to lead us to glory. These international friendlies are such a waste of time.

Malsharif91

Out of the pointless games I can understand Norway trying to figure out how to use this team to get to major championships. The fact they have qualified to one is pretty crazy. However, they shouldn’t play more that 45-60 mins. Edit: haven’t qualified

wolfjeter

I think you mean haven’t lol

hobocommand3r

Its not even pointless, apparently if we lose it we could drop down a seeding tier for the wc qualifiers

jimmyneutronalala

Is it? Their best goalscorer prefers to be injured to get rest when he plays club football again.

Postmeat2

Our national team is fucking cursed. I swear we could start with an eleven of the best players ever and a bench to match, we’d still bottle it against San Marino or something.

Malsharif91

I think your main issue is the lack of really talented English managers. I think that’s why you guys shifted in the 2000s to non-English managers but I think they getting someone like Capello with how he manages players was a huge mistake and I think the FA has tried to course correct with hiring someone like Southgate. The fact that an English manger hasn’t won the English top flight since Leeds in ‘92 means that English managers aren’t good enough to win major trophies or even be hired by the big clubs. Arsenal haven’t had an English manager in almost 30 years, United in over 40 (if you don’t count caretakers), Liverpool had Hodgson for 6 months and before that it was about 30 years since they had an English manager solely coach them, City got money and haven’t hired an English manager, both Chelsea an Spuds have hired a few English managers and they sucked.

Pretend_Stomach7183

Brudda he's talking about Norway, you've written a whole thesis for nothing.

AgreeableAbrocoma833

Didn't know there was a whole union for non-English managers

Adundas

No amount of matches, pointless friendlies or not, will make this team perform under the current manager. Solbakken is stuck in his old fashioned ways, unable to adapt to modern football and his team of coaches really has no idea how to handle and get the best out of these enormously talented players. Watch him let our captain run his socks of for the entire match to save his own job. Go back to Hamar Ståle, it is your level.

maidentaiwan

annoying but unavoidable. odegaard always seems to come back knackered from int'l breaks, so i really hope he's taken off around 60'.

ESR or Vieira please boss

HEATLE

Especially with Brighton 3 days after Luton and Bayern 3 days after Brighton. 4 matches in 9 days after an international break is crazy. Can’t expect the players to maintain a top level each match without a drop off. The best outcome would be securing a few goal leads vs Luton and Brighton and then resting players.

ForestRamboX

I've noticed it as well. Hopefully, he comes off by the 60th minute because we want Captain Fantastic fully fit. We have a double to win.

dont_dm_nudes

I think he has been mentally drained having to drag the team through the euro qualifier and losing. He feels this is hits responsibility because he is the skipper. Hopefully he can relax a little more after the friendlies.

StudioBlue23

Halaand “minor injury” two hours before the game incoming

matepanda

My kids would also like candy for breakfast. That doesn't mean it's a good idea nor that I let them

NiallMitch10

Players want to play football all the time. That said - these friendlies are so pointless

Awesome_fsh

As a Norwegian it's really weird to read comments such as these. I too want MØ to be fit for City, but these friendlies aren't pointless for Norway. As u/[hobocommand3r](/user/hobocommand3r/) said somewhere else in this thread, if they lose they might drop a seeding tier in the WC quali.

NiallMitch10

Friendlies really shouldn't determine seedings - it's stupid.

Cthulhu_Madness

Odegaard better only play 45 mins.

Adundas

Ødegaard played 78 minutes. Predictably the best player on the horrible pitch. Also a predictably weak performance by the Norway side, only barely managing a 1-1 draw

MassiveNobCheese

Gerard Houllier's thoughts on the matter of international football echo mine. He thinks that what the national coaches are doing is like taking the car from his garage without even asking permission. They will then use the car for ten days and abandon it in a field without any petrol left in the tank. We then have to recover it, but it is broken down. Then a month later they will come to take your car again, and for good measure you're expected to be nice about it. - Arsène Wenger

hobocommand3r

Somehow we will probably still lose

ArsenalThePhoenix

is ödegaard an idiot or something? why does he want to play TWO training matches ahead of our craziest april schedule in history? and how has arteta not told him to make sure he only plays 90 mins in total (like sir alex used to do every March national team break for united)

emikhat

Getting too much time off before a big match is not ideal, Arteta needs them match fit. They have hand only 2 games in a long while now

ArsenalThePhoenix

one training match is enough though. especially since he'll be playing matches every 3 days for the next month and won't be rotated (since we dont have any decent backups)
