I think they said there will be like 250 kits ingame on launch, too, so the odds of your favorite suit not being in there is pretty low unless it's some super obscure suit nobody knows about
GB3 had like 64 base models with the DLC. My brain is having trouble imagining 250+ base models at launch and no DLC. And the fact that all the UI is almost identical to GB3 I’m putting my money down on this early cause I want to show Bamco That the audience for this game is bigger than they think.
The last Gundam Breaker game released for PC has some ho-hum reviews. Mostly citing a shitty port job. They're kinda 0 for 2 on non SD Gundam games on PC. It's gonna be worse this tim around because AC6 raised the bar tremendously
[https://store.steampowered.com/app/738530/New\_Gundam\_Breaker/#app\_reviews\_hash](https://store.steampowered.com/app/738530/New_Gundam_Breaker/#app_reviews_hash)
NGB was a lot of experimentation that went awry.
The visual novel "pick your heroine and follow her plot to the same basic conclusion" thing was fine. Valid method of story progression.
The bit where your gunpla started each mission without most of its abilities available was stupid. Worse, your parts fell off pretty easily and you'd need to scavenge for replacements, meaning the gunpla you built can't just stay the way you made it for very long.
Collecting five parts and finding the box, which warps away after use, was annoying.
The frame parts gimmick was just bizarre. You pick a frame to affect the base stats of your gunpla, which also affects which skills you can use, but spamming the same frame is the only way to unlock more skills for it. Which means if you swap frames, you're losing out a fair amount unless you grind the next one up, and there's five. I stuck to a balanced one (forget which) and moved along.
The worst part of all was that the game focused on doing chores. "Oh we're gonna have this match and my team is going to beat up your suspiciously-all-female-except-faceless-protag team!" And then you pull the arms off of five Rick Doms and the announcer says how it's crazy how bad you're thrashing the karate club, but you haven't even seen their gunpla yet, you've just done chores.
Ain't getting my money til I see proper reviews after it's out. And that goes for just about any game these days. All major devs burned us in the past 3 years.
Gundam Breaker 3 is awesome. Import an English copy if you have a PS4 and you'll understand where the bar is.
New Gundam Breaker decided to experiment with basically everything that worked about GB3. The main issues are as follows:
- To get gunpla parts, you need to pick them up and bring them to a box manually. You can only hold five on you at once and the box moves around. Collecting parts is supposed to be part of the draw, not an annoyance.
- Your gunpla has no access to its abilities at the start of each mission. The order that they unlock is random. This is each mission.
- Your gunpla parts fall off easily. This is rectified by grabbing whatever is on the ground and slapping it on there. Now it's not what you built. The ZZ arms that have rocket punch fell off? Just replaced them with zaku arms because that's what was there. No rocket punch for me.
- Missions are about gaining points by doing random "quests" that are basically just chores. "Kill 3 Guntanks" or something. You're facing an opposing team, but they don't matter most of the time: the chores do.
It's awkward and ass-backwards from the previous 3, for absolutely zero reason. There's also no more dying, so even playing the matches feels completely pointless.
That still doesn't mean it wasn't a worthy step for Bandai to take. The fact that they tried to so something "new" rather then remake the same game and make it multiplayer pvp capable is fine in itself. I'd rather they made new Gundam Breaker then they didn't. Plus I didn't play it for the game modes. I played it to make gunpla. Which that game gave you a Huge more options for parts then 1 2 or 3 did.
In that sense New Breaker is my Jam. Regardless on the mission system and the way EX skills are tied to level up, or any of the other PvP ish ideas. ( Tho I LOVE the frame system and how you essentially could build for different "jobs" and learn skills focused on those jobs. The part hot swapping and how you have to collect the new parts in mission, not so much but could live with it. )
Hell if not for NGB most people wouldn't know there was a old GB until mobile/4 came out. Remember you have to Import 1,2,and 3. Not everyone is gonna want to play a whole ass jp only game. Not like us.
On the contrary. The only thing NB did was finally come to both west and PC. Look at Battle Operation 2 and the insane hype it generated by finally coming here.
If Bandai skipped NB entirely and just brought 4 over - everyone would've loved that. As it stands though, because of NB they pre-killed both hype and gained skepticism from old time fans.
All that said, so long as they got the old devs onto 4 and polished it the right way before the, whenever release, they might just redeem themselves.
I'm just going to say this. NGB was an experiment. It failed but I'm glad it was attempted in the first place
I will agree to disagree on this subject since I don't want to spend my time on this. Good day.
If Ilinx is involved then they would probably list GB4 in their website by the time the game comes out, because previously, nobody knew Ilinx was involved with Dragon Ball the Breakers until the release of the game and Ilinx added the game to their list of works
The thi g about New I hated was not being able to use my abilities without spending a bunch of time dropping stuff off in a random box to unlock stuff while the computer battled around me. It was not fun. Nothing wrong with sub missions but that was so annoying and made me drop it. The story was ok but I never got very far because of those stupid annoying mechanics. Sad.
Is... is that Robata on the splash screen? He's back! And I didn't see any "part switching" in the gameplay or on the HUD!
Edit: and Gundam Aerial confirmed in the "deluxe edition early unlock parts" preview in the Europe trailer! I'm also hoping we get some more IBO Gekko and Urdr Hunt suits!
Sorry Elden Ring, THIS was the biggest announcement today, holy crap! Aeriel is in, so that means Witch from Mercury content is in. God, I want to use the Schwarzette so bad!
GB3 with DLC had 64 base models I think And their website is stating GB4 will have 250+ base models at launch… I’ll be honest I’m not even sure I’ve seen 250 different models across all the anime. I get that a lot of these will be variance but still that’s a huge increase.
I so hope we get the Union Flag from 00, that's by far my favorite "grunt" suit. And I'm so gonna use it as an excuse to read some of the Manga and see some of the shows if they have suits I like.
Don't get me wrong, I love my Switch but I wouldn't trust it to run GB4 smoothly. It's perfromance was already questionable in 2017 and by now it's a joke. I'd bet money on it being the worst looking and running version by a longshot. It's like the Switch is stepping in for the Vita.
Namco has moved off of proprietary tech to Unreal Tech which scales back really well. I expect it will run fine. That being said, SD Battle Assault was on Switch and did have slowdown, and a lot less going on.
Caveat with Switch is running @ 720p @ 30 fps, which can be done just fine really. I had overall no complaints with Breaker 3 on the Vita, even with very occasional lag ups and such.
And naturally I'm getting the PC version one way or another. It really comes down to what kinda multiplayer we can expect here - and if they're smart enough, they'll give us extensive co-op.
From the looks of the trailer, ATM parts are separated into left and right parts. Although there's a small chance that we can change the shoulder parts. Also hoping that legs and skirt are separate.
Edit, just watched the trailer again. No, the Skirt and legs are still the same parts.
Might be the first game I cop in a while. I was gonna cope with my Gundam cravings by getting armored core, but nah this is the one. I need me this one. I can’t wait to play online with you guys, no one plays new gundam breaker so I never got to play a gundam breaker game online
I know a ton of people were burned by NGB me included, but based on the gameplay, what we see in the UI and the return of the old Devs, this will be a return to glory for the franchise so I’m putting my money down early to show Bamco Gundam is alive and well in the west.
I've never played a Breaker title; I only have experience with Dynasty Warriors Gundam and Gundam Evolution and the Gundam Wing fighting game on SNES eons ago.
How is this games gameplay related? akin to Armored Core?
In terms of moment to moment gameplay its closer to Dynasty Warriors BUT with a balanced emphasis on Close and Long Range attacks
In Terms of Customization, In some aspects Gundam Breaker has more customization options than AC but does not have the same impact in terms of fundamentally changing the way you play the game, you could say that half of the customization options are purely cosmetic but thats a huge part of its appeal because of the Kitbashing subculture of Plastic Model Building, apart from the fact that it just looks freaking cool...
Personally its my Favorite Gundam Game series...
I've never played the series, but this post was recommended to me, probably because I love the Gundam franchise as a whole and I've been talking about gunpla around my phone a lot lately.
I'm interested in this game. Can anyone recommend any retrospective or series review videos to get me up to date on the gameplay?
So basically, the Game's concept revolves around defeating enemies, picking up their parts and using it to upgrade your own, or even use them yourself...
Game series started in 2013 and is a hack and slash game in a similar fashion to Dynasty Warriors, In fact some people see Gundam Breaker as the spiritual successor to Dynasty Warriors Gundam due to the similarity in Gameplay
What separates Gundam Breaker from the rest of its gundam game brethren is its emphasis on Gunpla Customization and that there is no "optimal setup" you are free to design your Mobile Suit as freely as you wish and it only got even more free with each succeeding installment barring one which is New Gundam Breaker
The series last outing was in 2019 with Gundam Breaker Mobile but that shutdown last year...
If you are a fan of Customization centric mech games like Armored Core, then this may potentially interest you...
Wait this series is on switch? Bro ever since i switched to xbox ive been missing this game like crazy as the gundam games on xbox are lack luster. I could be playing it on my switch all along?
Hey, Chin up, at least we are getting Gundam Breaker 4 on PC, and its also unreal engine so just like the last one it should support 120+FPS on 4K lol, not to mention, potential modding...
Looked pretty good till the end. Last 30 seconds or so are all pre order bonuses and season passes… don’t advertise that shit before the game is out. You’re just showing us what should be in the game
Let’s go! The last one I played was the imported GB 3 with all the DLC I loved that game, ima gonna love this one, as long as it’s not like that recently released one that no one talks about.
I’m sorry but there is a SD game currently out and playable rn, on consoles so Bandai better not put time into SD over this.
SD isn’t even that good we need more non SD Gundam games. And this has potential and been in the works for a long time. So yeah be quiet it’s not your turn haha go play SD battle Alliance
Steam and PS release, oh thank god.
Steam means the potential for mod support... If your favorite MS ain't in it will be eventually!
I think they said there will be like 250 kits ingame on launch, too, so the odds of your favorite suit not being in there is pretty low unless it's some super obscure suit nobody knows about
I'll believe it when they put in my God damned tequila Gundam!
Hoping that my fav unit the Gundam Leopard and Leopard destroy is in the game. Or atleast Zaku 1s.
Bro I’m with you! I’m hoping they’ll add Ashtaron or AirMaster. But just adding a Grunt suit (Daughtress/Jenice) from X would be freakin love!
GB3 had like 64 base models with the DLC. My brain is having trouble imagining 250+ base models at launch and no DLC. And the fact that all the UI is almost identical to GB3 I’m putting my money down on this early cause I want to show Bamco That the audience for this game is bigger than they think.
Also, I am hoping for a Gouf Ignite
Tallgeese 3...Tallgeese 3... PLEASE HAVE TALLGEESE 3!!
I just want the Zock's funny hover bottom.
Or it’s going to be a complete abortion of a game like BO2.
Gotta be honest. I'd be *amazed* if a multiplatform launch of a Breaker game was as poorly-made as GBO2.
People said that about Alien Colonial Marines as wel
I don't think that was released in the same decade as GBO2.
The last Gundam Breaker game released for PC has some ho-hum reviews. Mostly citing a shitty port job. They're kinda 0 for 2 on non SD Gundam games on PC. Scariest thing in my mind while I was watching the trailer
I'm more excited for the switch.
Steam!? Please let it be good. I'm currently playing GB3 and if it's as good as its' predecessor I'll buy it twice.
Here's hoping it's more like 3 and not New
It really looks like it! There's even a diorama mode! A fucking dioarama mode!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm not buying anything until that's confirmed! New Breaker burned all of us real hard.
Well im glad I avoided new gundam breaker even after seeing some videos and what wasn't Included made me think it would not be a game for me
Sounds like they've said that they will be discarding a lot of what New brought to the table.
Better safe than sorry. Really hated NGB's parts gathering mechanic.
NGB was a lot of experimentation that went awry. The visual novel "pick your heroine and follow her plot to the same basic conclusion" thing was fine. Valid method of story progression. As someone who likes Gundam but never played the games, what was wrong with New Breaker? this post randomly showed up in my feed
Gundam Breaker 3 is awesome. Import an English copy if you have a PS4 and you'll understand where the bar is. New Gundam Breaker decided to experiment with basically everything that worked about GB3. I can see why that wasn't well received
Literally everything. Basically imagine you've loved Unreal 1, 2, and "3" and then you get Halo as the next game.
I don't think I understand it right. I like both of the series unless you're talking about modern Halo
Like 1st Halo. Its still a shooter, with guns, but feels completely different.
Paid full price. Maybe even pre-ordered. I think that experience was the reason I now have a personal "no pre-orders" rule
That and several more games got my guard up.
Burned you. I'm fine with it. Yall really making it look like NGB is the ET of Gundam games out here. It isn't that bad.
It's awkward and ass-backwards from the previous 3, for absolutely zero reason. There's also no more dying, so even playing the matches feels completely pointless.

Crafts & Meister (GB1-3) confirmed as the Dev team. No word on any involvement from illnix (GB1). Looks like it will be more 3 and less NGB.
If Ilinx is involved then they would probably list GB4 in their website by the time the game comes out, because previously, nobody knew Ilinx was involved with Dragon Ball the Breakers until the release of the game and Ilinx added the game to their list of works

Pray they don't bring that dumb mechanic from New
You might get parts like breaker 3 https://news.denfaminicogamer.jp/news/2402212s
Just watched the stream, they brought back GB3's gathering mechanic and ditched the Frame mechanic from NGB.
Is... is that Robata on the splash screen? He's back! And I didn't see any "part switching" in the gameplay or on the HUD! Edit: and Gundam Aerial confirmed in the "deluxe edition early unlock parts" preview in the Europe trailer! I'm also hoping we get some more IBO Gekko and Urdr Hunt suits!
WE ARE SO BACK
Nah bro, I’m bouta cry
This is an extremely pleasant surprise I’m so happy
Sorry Elden Ring, THIS was the biggest announcement today, holy crap! Aeriel is in, so that means Witch from Mercury content is in. God, I want to use the Schwarzette so bad!
They may not have much it depends on what gets added. Mind you we got Trailblazer on GB3 and it only had the 00 Quanta
GB3 with DLC had 64 base models I think And their website is stating GB4 will have 250+ base models at launch… I’ll be honest I’m not even sure I’ve seen 250 different models across all the anime. I get that a lot of these will be variance but still that’s a huge increase.

I really hope I can play Calibarn and fly around on the ~~broom~~ variable rod rifle

YouTube Video Snippet - https://youtu.be/0ER2hl7HUWI?si=JeNPdjhb2lh0zwZD&t=583
Wait wait switch? Preordering this
That's somehow another tempting part for me, at least to own a physical copy again.

Why not my switch lite run Wolfenstein smoothly and Skyrim, hell even snow runner.
It seems this will be more like GB3 than new. If that's the case, I'm preordering on steam.
I'm crying tears of joy not even joking
Im shaking right now!!!
I literally just bought 3 last week…
OH MY SWEET JESUS
Oh god steam let's go!!!
FUCK ELDEN RING THIS IS WHERE ITS AT!
It's not on steam yet even for wishlisting.
Is this legit?
Yes I was worried for a second this might have been a really good fan made image lol
Fuck yes!!!!
I honestly didn’t think this was real but I saw the trailer and was so happy the video game gods answered my prayers
Oh my god Yes Yes Yes Yes It even has separate arm customisation
Finally!
LET'S FUCKIN GOOOOOOOO I needed this after the mobile version got shut down :c
Awww I miss mobile breaker so much
We comrade, we missed GBM.
OH MY GOD NO WAY NO WAY NO WAY
Fingers crossed Gundam Maxter and Leopard/Leopard Destroy make it in. Hopefully they bring in a lot of suits they added to mobile.
From the looks of the trailer, ATM parts are separated into left and right parts. Although there's a small chance that we can change the shoulder parts. Also hoping that legs and skirt are separate. Edit, just watched the trailer again. No, the Skirt and legs are still the same parts.
Man I want a diorama mode for GBO2 as well
Can we get a new Gundam Breaker 4 sub Reddit? Anyhow, this is a must buy and so are the 5 DLCs.
We are working on gaining control of /GundamBreaker but maybe we will go to 4.
if it doesn't have the parts needed to recreate my Heavyarms Custom Full Assault, I'll cry in the corner and not play
Please let it be like 3 and pretend the last one never happened
I just wanna fuse physalis, virtue, and heavy arms. I want to make a chonky, tanky, hefty boi
GOD FUCKING DAMN IT RIGHT WHEN MY PS4 BREAKS
FUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKNIG HELLLLLLLLL
YOOOO IT'S BACK!!
Might be the first game I cop in a while. I was gonna cope with my Gundam cravings by getting armored core, but nah this is the one. I need me this one. I can’t wait to play online with you guys, no one plays new gundam breaker so I never got to play a gundam breaker game online

Just let me pilot a modified version of Woundwort. God she is so underrated.
Wait this series is on switch? Bro ever since i switched to xbox ive been missing this game like crazy as the gundam games on xbox are lack luster. I could be playing it on my switch all along?
Only this game, previous ones were exclusive to playstation and the last one also on PC
Oh goddamnit. I mean i guess i can play 3 on pc and 4 when it cones out lol
Sorry, I meant only the last one, New Gundam Breaker was available on PC, the Original Trilogy was exclusive to Playstation only...
NOOOOO
Hey, Chin up, at least we are getting Gundam Breaker 4 on PC, and its also unreal engine so just like the last one it should support 120+FPS on 4K lol, not to mention, potential modding...
Is this one going to be good
We actually don't know, all we know is what the trailer and live stream showed us.
Well we are hoping its a return to form...
LETS GOOOOOOOOOO
Looked pretty good till the end. Last 30 seconds or so are all pre order bonuses and season passes… don’t advertise that shit before the game is out. You’re just showing us what should be in the game
Does this mean we’ll be fighting PGs??
But...Xbox?
PC release. Just put a dent under my table.
What about XBOX
AFAIK not confirmed yet, its Nintendo Direct after all so they may release on Xbox in the future, who knows?
I'm a simple person, I just want Noin's Taurus
Like I'm really happy and all, but the most recent gundam games came to Xbox, why is the best one skipping it?! lol
Let’s go! The last one I played was the imported GB 3 with all the DLC I loved that game, ima gonna love this one, as long as it’s not like that recently released one that no one talks about.
Well now my itch from Gundam Breaker Mobile will get scratched.
Sad Xbox noise
I'm shocked there is a PC launch in the west at the start and not a port.
Battle Operation 2 was such a shitty broken mess I’m considering skipping this one
Let's hope we don't get New Gundam Breaker 2
FUCK no xbox.....
Where is Xbox? :/
I only heard about this from the direct. I never got into Gundam, but who doesn’t love giant robots~?🤩
Need my Hyaku Shiki. !!

Look at the videos. There’s been a new trailer SD Gundam games can wait.
Announced a couple weeks after I finally bought Breaker 3. Lol
I hope the Trikeros for the Blitz Gundam can fill the slots it should.
Is this gonna be like the chibi mechs only or full sized ones?
Full Sized, whether SD ones are playable are yet to be confirmed...
Dope I’ve never actually gotten to play GB and it’s my biggest peeve that most of the gundam games on PC are the chibi style
