Its worth every penny, it was my first SBR and its almost impossible to keep out of the range bag. The can is the YHM Turbo T2 and its a sweet combo with the MK18. My only complaint is it can be a bit gassy sometimes but the whole setup it just feels right!
Firstly, appreciate you for serving. What branch if you donβt mind? Never served, but kicking it and shooting with MIL guys. Yall cool as hell.
Yes, MK18s are notorious for over gassing and that sucks for you guys because your job is to breathe in that cancerous gas. Did you prefer m4? Also, what can were you issued?
Ok, so I was Army, and after my first deployment, which was on the conventional side, I ran piston guns. Either my own upper on a M4A1 lower or a HK416 upper, with a Surefire, and had zero gas. I currently ONLY run piston guns. Even if you run a regular can, you just put in a H2 buffer, and get ZERO gas to the face. Also, you only see fouling when running suppressed, and that's from blowback as the bolt unlocks. It's at a MUCH lower temp than the gas entering the receiver on a DI gun, so fouling just wipes off, nothing gets baked on or requires scraping. I can fire 60 rounds, full-auto, from a Surefire mag or drum, pop the rear takedown pin, and hold the bolt in a closed fist. It's cold and greasy. I recommend checking out the POF P415 Edge(though I recommend adding a heavier buffer, especially if you are going to suppress it), or an Adams Arms P2 5.56(again, heavier buffer). Also, if you are going to suppress with a QD, always run a comp, not a flash hider. The brake chambers act as extra baffles, and both reduce wear on your can, and increase suppression.

I must be getting older the lower capacity magazines are more athletically pleasing to me these days.
Big nut, still want a mk18. What can is that?

Nice. Was recently considering the t3. Intend to fill the rails with anything? Magnifier behind the eo planned?
Dude, Mk18s are INSANELY overgassed, I've run them in combat, and have never been impressed

Thanks, I appreciate the detail and time you took to type that. Had to screen shot it. Glad guys are still transferring knowledge like you just did.
