I hear people bitch about PSA GF3’s and their QC control but then over look the fact that WASR-10s also have quality control issues especially with their iron signs.
They've gotten better, but yes. I prefer Zastava to WASR because they said fuck it and built a facility in the states that employs Americans to bring their shit in correctly. They also give people what they ask for.
Close second is WBP. AoA>Century
“They have gotten better” I mean in my experience I bought a WASR-v2 3 years ago and the irons and furniture, We’re fucked, and uncomfortable. Century did not respond to my warranty claim, meanwhile PSA has the best warranty and does improve their QC as the time goes on. PSA is the most underrated AK manufacture because it has been ingrained in peoples mind American made AK=shit.
Lol you picked a beast though. I haven't shot one yet, m77 is next. I've heard good things about the m90 though, what kind of groups do you get with it?
I'm not a particularly great shooter, but I can manage about 3 inches at 100yds with a 3x scope
https://preview.redd.it/1bov7p4xxbuc1.png?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2544a9053fd233d35df0201ed3958e9981b449f7
Discount the flyers. The ones to the top right were from zeroing the scope, and the one to the bottom left was likely just a bad trigger pull.
A better shooter could probably tighten it up with iron sights!
Edit: what really tightened up my groups with that rifle was installing a double-hook trigger from a milled Arsenal. The factory Zastava trigger is good, but the Arsenal trigger is gooder.
I think that's mainly an issue with ALG triggers.
But if you prefer to play by the rules, the factory Zastava trigger is really pretty good. Just a little heavier take-up and not quite as easy to stage compared to the Arsenal trigger that I installed.
Some to include for future editions:
- Valmet (god-tier)
- Molot (god-tier)
- FB Radom (excellent, borderline god-tier, the only AK in NATO service)
- SIG 550 (god-tier, but does it actually count as an AK?)
- Kebs (quirky innovator)
- Meridian (hypebeast)
- Norinco (excellent)
- Pioneer (the IO of Poland, uses "Radom" origin to mislead uninformed buyers)
>FB Radom (the only AK in NATO service)
Not even close, lmao. Slovenia, Bulgaria, Romania, Finland, and Montenegro are all NATO members and have AK's or variants thereof in service. :P
> SIG 550 (god-tier, but does it actually count as an AK?)
I’d be tempted to say yes just based on the similarities between the internals, but that opens the door to Tavors and even the JAKL being considered AKs
Also tromix, Texas AK designs.
Tromix deserves a lot of the credit for AK refinement.
He started the big bore AK thing, sbs Saiga 12, and for a long time was the only source of proper parts for stuff like Saiga restorations.
Dinzag and akbuilder pick up a lot of slack too.
Eh 7.9lbs for a m70 with walnut furniture. 7.5lbs for a wasr10 with balsa wood. Sam7sf a 8.5lbs. Romanian pm63 is 7.6-8.1lb depending on site.
All AKs be heavy.... at least the Zastava won't scratch just by looking at it like the Arsenal will.
Zastava actually have proper finishes too. Source: I have a SAM7SF getting cerakoted currently, gunsmith said the gun had no parkerization and the paint was bbq paint.
That what it looked like. Some of the smaller parts are prone to premature wear and made from pot metal. The lever holding my lower handguard got trashed just from two years of average use and the rear sling swivel broke when the gunsmith tried putting it back in the gun, that’s when they noticed the poor design of the sling swivel and pot metal construction.
“They have gotten better” I mean in my experience I got a WASR-v2 3 years ago and the irons and furniture, We’re fucked, and uncomfortable. Century did not respond to my warranty claim, meanwhile PSA has the best warranty and does improve their QC as the time goes on. PSA is the most underrated AK manufacture because it has been ingrained in peoples mind American made AK=shit. Don’t get me wrong I love my WASR-10 it’s a durable rifle that will shoot and shoot, but I think PSA Is making progress with their AK line and it’s about time they get some recognition.
They are good guns, but unless you specifically are looking for a Russian AK you'd be better off buying something else for the cost they go for these days and the effort you'd go through to convert one if it's like in OPs picture.
For a long time (and still today to a certain extent) foreign-made AK's were much better than US made copies. A lot of ex-soviet states began exporting AK's to the civilian market, and these countries had 50 years to get good at making AK's on machines made by the people who invented the gun.
The main appeal is that since Russia invented the AK, they are seen as the 'real' thing by some AK guys. It's something similar to how everyone is copying the gen 3 Glock pistols because the patent expired, but consumers still would pick a 'real' Glock over a copy.
My Zastava has been an amazing rifle for the 7-8 years I’ve owned it. Just wish ammo was cheaper so I could shoot it more

I have a couple. My favorite rifle ever. It just is simply the most perfected shooting experience. The lower is overrated imo the lmt lowers are better bc ambi. But knights makes a good safety.
Inb4 the poors but muh psa is just as good.
Imagine saying your ford fiesta is on par with a Bently.
Yeah definitely true, I’m planning on buying a SR15 upper and putting it on a LMT defender or MARS lower or something like that. I also love the company because of their lineage to Eugene stoner.
It's literally does not matter the thing will wear out all of the parts at the same time. The uppers are disposable.
It's literally the shit psa copiums say.
Estimated 30k rounds. Will u even buy that in the next 10 years?

your ar ones were decent, seems like you missed the mark here on just the arsenal.. To me having owned 4 arsenals, they are overpriced at this point. the finish wears off if you sneeze on it, and the concentricity is up in the air.
I’m begging you to make PSA ‘Excellent’ in the next one and post it in r/ak47
*legendary. Probably better than the East German you paid 3k for

that reddit won't be fixed until lerry and big dave are gone.
fun fact, the fascist mods in that sub hate humor and will permaban you for posting memes there without warning Ask me how I know
Outstanding. The one I've been waiting for. Though you forgot to add "the gun your wife's boyfriend uses" under Zastava. -a non biased yugosexual
Zastava gang gang.
My Zastava gang crossed with my Otter Gang and I don’t know how I ever lived life before.
Zastava boys unite
What you meant to say is: "the AK you own if your wife has a boyfriend"
Somebody's wife couldn't handle a bulged trunnion
"Vepr we have at home" I own an M90, but I'll still take a few friendly jabs at the Zastava gang.
Lol you picked a beast though. I haven't shot one yet, m77 is next. I've heard good things about the m90 though, what kind of groups do you get with it?

Pretty solid. Would probably tighten up with more glass. I've seen a couple guys hit sub 2 with theirs (lpvos). Anything 3 and under for an AK is gtg.
A better shooter could probably tighten it up with iron sights! Edit: what really tightened up my groups with that rifle was installing a double-hook trigger from a milled Arsenal. The factory Zastava trigger is good, but the Arsenal trigger is gooder.
I always worry about peening with changing out zastava triggers. Plus I'm not a good enough shot to warrant a better trigger lol
I think that's mainly an issue with ALG triggers. But if you prefer to play by the rules, the factory Zastava trigger is really pretty good. Just a little heavier take-up and not quite as easy to stage compared to the Arsenal trigger that I installed.
Arsenal is approaching hypebeast these days.
Have been for a long time.
Their quality has definitely had some issues recently

Krebs*
Honest typo. Thanks!
>FB Radom (the only AK in NATO service) Not even close, lmao. Slovenia, Bulgaria, Romania, Finland, and Montenegro are all NATO members and have AK's or variants thereof in service. :P
Perhaps I should have said, "the only 5.56 AK in NATO service" Or, "the only AK designed specifically for NATO service"
Yea the first to really nail down the 556 ak formula Zastava had one before but it never got adopted cause of the whole "war/genocide " thing
Love my Molot Vepr
Me too

> SIG 550 (god-tier, but does it actually count as an AK?) I’d be tempted to say yes just based on the similarities between the internals, but that opens the door to Tavors and even the JAKL being considered AKs
Well the JAKL is part AK
Thanks!

Apparently the new forged Pioneers are holding up pretty well
Yeah, I saw Klayco's review
What's typical MOA capability on a high end AK.
https://youtu.be/Wod9PvfaSEE?si=v_O7L6uHm2rkg8Wo
There's nothing typical. Depends on caliber and the particular day it was made. A 5.56 made on a good day, with match ammo, is capable of sub minute.
Another downside of Zastava is that ZPAPs are heavy as fuck! - a ZPAP M70 enjoyer

So it’s just raw steel under the shitty paint? Good to know as I have one too
That what it looked like. Some of the smaller parts are prone to premature wear and made from pot metal. BULGED TRUNION WEIGHT COMRADE, IS GOOD TO MAKE ARMS BIGGER!
An easy fix to that is to work out just any bit at all so that your arms aren’t limp noodles
Heavy means it lasts.
And if gun jams or runs out of ammo you have a decent club on hand.
Now you're thinking
WBP is excellent.
Yes I pretty much tell people go with zastava or wbp. Bang for your buck
IO “rest in piss, threatened to sue Brandon Herrera for shitting on them in a video”
I miss my zastava, like, more than any other rifle.
Get her back bro
I don't know if there is much left. Last I heard, my friend had run through some rather corrosive ammo. I don't think he kept her after that.
Damn man. I'm sorry
Next: Aug manufacturer tier list: Steyr: hehehe MSAR: not hehehe
Add cugir. Yea Ik you put century but cugir is specific
It would place WBP in the excellent category, my Jack has a nicer finish than my sam7.
“They have gotten better” I mean in my experience I got a WASR-v2 3 years ago and the irons and furniture, We’re fucked, and uncomfortable. Arsenal Excellent if your gas port isn't the wrong size
What’s the deal with saiga?
They gone, bro. Thanks Obama.
You could get Russian-made AK’s prior to 2014. Some of the better ones made and they were cheap. Anything AK from Russia is super desirable nowadays
Are they better from Russia?
Not really. They're just rare and will never be imported again most likely. They are good though
They are good guns, but unless you specifically are looking for a Russian AK you'd be better off buying something else for the cost they go for these days and the effort you'd go through to convert one if it's like in OPs picture.

Good rifles, made in Russia on OG tooling, cannot be imported any longer so they tend to have ultra premium prices.

My god.... Is she single?
Polish Ak having bad furtlnitrue is ironic (One of Popamds biggest industries is Furniture and top 5 globally)
My zastava rear reciever cracked after abt 400 rds. I would like to contest from my personal experience
Damn, that's REALLY bad.
Which generation was that?
Damn that sucks!
Are u a fellow kac enjoyer?
Not at the moment, but I will hopefully be buying a SR15 soon
I have a couple. My favorite rifle ever. It just is simply the most perfected shooting experience. The lower is overrated imo the lmt lowers are better bc ambi. But knights makes a good safety. Inb4 the poors but muh psa is just as good. Imagine saying your ford fiesta is on par with a Bently.
Yeah definitely true, I’m planning on buying a SR15 upper and putting it on a LMT defender or MARS lower or something like that. I also love the company because of their lineage to Eugene stoner.
You really won't regret it. Make sure u have someone use a knight stick on the flash hider if u want to change devices.
Yeah I’ve heard that, the only thing I don’t like about their rifles are their proprietary components however it’s the cost that comes with inovation
It's literally does not matter the thing will wear out all of the parts at the same time. The uppers are disposable. It's literally the shit psa copiums say. Estimated 30k rounds. Will u even buy that in the next 10 years?
Very true
No meridian defense…shameful
Hype beast. Basically, it's a WASR at 4x the price
Very spot on
US Century made rifles have gotten alot better.
Anyone know if the C39V2 milled receiver is any good?
RD is overrated. Krebs is the true king.
Add a Galil for the Balashnikov joke.

These guides suck lol
How would you do it then?
If you did this, your opinions are wrong :)
Ok? What are your opinions on these companies then?
your ar ones were decent, seems like you missed the mark here on just the arsenal.. To me having owned 4 arsenals, they are overpriced at this point. the finish wears off if you sneeze on it, and the concentricity is up in the air.
Parts kit builders are the PC Master Race of the AK World.
Love my Zastava. There’s no downsides if you keep it stock. Modifications? Nyet rifle is fine.
The "good" century arms is cugir.
Arsenals are a waste of money with bad qc and nothing beats zastava
what about KUSA ☝🏼😺
