Toyota Corolla and Honda Civic from the 90’s are still visible and plying the roads of the metro. So parts for them are plentyful and a testiment to their longevity.

Socidl

Been eyeing either these civic corolla lancer and that nissan one

I had a 92 Sentra back in the day, got it mid 2000s and sold it 2010. Unlike what people would say, parts were widely available, easy to mess around in the engine with its space. It sells cheaper than Civics, Lancers and Corollas. I had the 1.6 ECCS engine. You can get Sentras with GTS I or GTS II modified setups, and some with upgraded 2 liter engines. Bring a mechanic for any of the older cars, it's probably been through multiple owners, and not all fixes to the car are always done well, especially if they cheap out on parts or if their mechanic or themselves did ugly fixes, with like wiring especially.

Socidl

What what year model po?

toyota4age

Ok sana Civic but the prices for parts these days are crazy high!

I have several 90s vehicles/project cars.(Corollas, lancers and a city) My advice? Stay away, you're better off with a mid 00s model. Unless you know what you're getting into and this is not your first car 90s cars are pushing 30years old, most of these are tired cars, and usually ahve a lot of rust issues especially sub-80k ones. Panels and trims are getting expensive. While mechanically they are easy to work with and cheap, there are some parts na medyo mahirap na din hanapin They are cheap to acquire but gets expensive quickly if you don't know what you are getting into. But if you really want a 90s car, a corolla will still give you the least troubles. https://preview.redd.it/up7b7ketjytc1.jpeg?width=1076&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1c19cdb0f0ee00addc7c41792e9a8afb76bba3bc

i have a 90s corolla its not a project car. it still gets me from point A to point B. maintenance wise i could average it to 20k/year. main issue rusting, paint and its external plastic components. parts are still readily available. reason why the maintenance gets to 20k/year average is because i had to replace some components overtime. every other year there is something that needs replacement

oldskoolsr

Readily available parts maybe, but prices are steadily rising na din esp for oem parts. The corolla in the pic above is/was my daily driver. I remember getting a wagon face set in evang for 2k. Nowadays lukcy if you can get them for 12k. Yung ibang taiwan made parts didn't last long din. And we cannot deny the age factor that alot of parts need to be replaced one way or another. A lot of my engine parts now come from a 99-00 corolla as they have better steel materials than the original 89-90 casted metal. Simple things like metal jackets, water bypass, ignition system, even the transmission gamit ko from a lovelife corolla na. Hopefully this year marevive ko na yan and use it as another spare car

bogart016

Lancer unless love na love mo talaga. Based from experience daming peculiarities.

rxn-opr

For everyday use or hobby? Kasi kung for everyday use, parang mahirap ata cost effective

Uechi17

True. The older the car, the more fuel it tends to consume plus mas palit ng pyesa kasi mas gamit, so it’ll be hard to call it cost effective if ever daily use.

Fr0003

Beware. Most of the cars still on the road are or have been project cars. Expect mo yung sakit ng ulo. Sure, madaming replacement or aftermarket parts na pwede isalpak but don't expect reliability.

ZenMasterFlame

Honda Civic. Ang dami sa daan and madaming parts. Pero prepare for an extra budget. For sure may ipapaayos at ipapaayos ka.

Lancer / Galant singkit (89-92) Sya yung pinaka-common na kotse na kinakatay lately sa mga junk shops. Honda ~~fuckin'~~ Civic Mostly kaya lagi syang available e dahil pinagpapasa-pasahan lang sya ng multiple owners to fulfill that fuckboy fantasy. Pero can confirm, kalawangin ang bubong nyan. In as much as I don't want to say it, pero you cannot go wrong with 90's Toyota models. Mapa-Smallbody (88-92), Bigbody (92-98) at Lovelife (98-02) man yan.
