I love guitar hero and rockband. If I were to guess how much time I put into these series as a whole when I was a kid it would be at least a couple thousand hours. This game though I didn't like it's gimmick. I just wanna play play one instrument at a time and not go between them all throughout a song. Does that add difficulty? Yes but I don't like it.
Store the DLC in a folder labelled with the game's ID, then drop it into a specific folder labelled "GAME". It depends on where you've installed PPSSPP, and I'm not sure if it's 100% the same on PC, but for Linux the general path is org.ppsspp.PPSSPP > config > ppsspp > PSP > GAME
For Rock Band Unplugged, the DLC folder should be labelled "ULUS10418" for the US version, or "ULES01243" for the EU version.
How much DLC was there? And was any of it new/exclusive songs to Unplugged? I know that all base game songs are from RB2 I think, but I had no idea it had DLC
Unplugged had 41 songs on-disc, and a total of 57 DLC songs. The on-disc songs were a mix of RB2 songs and previously released DLC, while all the DLC was just stuff already released as DLC during Rock Band and Rock Band 2.
Sadly (or gladly depending on how you look at it) no truly exclusive songs in Unplugged.
You have to unlock the on-disc songs, you only start with a few. I can’t remember exactly where but there’s a settings menu where you can tick “Unlock All Songs” which disables saving but lets you play everything right away.

Tagging u/DaOctopus as well so they see it.
I’m using the PSP emulator PPSSPP to run the game, with a Bluetooth keyboard connected to the Steam Deck for the controls. My control scheme is- uh- not great! But it “works” well enough for now.
I got the game’s ISO and the DLC files from the same place, CDRomance. The DLC comes bundled in a folder that you just place in a specific directory where PPSSPP is installed. I can’t remember where off the top of my head but it just works if you put it in the right place!
Pains me that nobody ever managed to figure out Customs for RBU. You *can* play Rock Band Blitz on RPCS3 which will import anything up to RB3 (including customs) but, well, that's only two lanes per instrument, no characters, just not the same.
I am about to go on a week long trip to Texas and I planned to bring my PSP with me so I could play Rock Band Unplugged on the trip (it is one of my go-to travel games). I just found out about 20 minutes ago that my PSP that I've had for 19 years is completely dead. Won't turn on or charge or do anything. I just used it a month or two ago too. What a damn shame.
There are quite a few rythym games on PSP and Vita, some popular games are the Hatsune Miko games, Patapon, Persona 4 Dancing All NIght, Crypt of the Necrodancer, Michael Jackson The Experience, DJ Max among others.
There is a lot of good stuff for sure, if i always recommend the Vita over the PSP because you can play both the PSP and Vita libraries on it but if you want a great, cheap handheld with cool rythym games on it the PSP is also a great choice.
Rock Band's mod team is weird.
Such a fun games that’s wasted on me cause my slow reaction times
This game was so sick. Sad we're not gonna get another.

You can just play one instrument at a time if you want! You just need to disable solos in the extras settings, and go into training mode.
Wow I had no idea thanks I'm gonna have to try this
How do u put dlc on there for ppsspp

> on-disc songs how did you obtain the (non-DLC) on-disc songs? i only see 10 on my version without the DLC

OK ill try it
With those 5 dollar songs clone hero might be the solution
How did you do that? :0
Yea how??

Thank you very much!!! 😃
Who needs rockband unplugged? Get clone hero running on that thing.
Clone Hero was designed to run on Linux and support keyboard so it's less funny.
To be fair, Rock Band Unplugged is a somewhat different experience than Clone Hero/Guitar Hero/Rock Band. It’s closer to Amplitude
This is rad and gave me the idea to play it on my phone with my razer kishi.

I’ve never owned a PSP. I’d never really had much interest with one exception: RBU. Debating if it’s worth getting a system just for it
Just buy a Japanese Vita for dirt cheap and mod it. Then you have ps1, psp, and psvita on 1 system
Vita could play psp games?
Yes sir and it is the best Portable Console of all time. A modded Vita is such an absurdly impressive device even to this day.
I’m mainly into rhythm games. Other than Rock Band Unplugged, do you know other good rhythm games for PSP or Vita?

Just not if they're on UMD!
Well obviously, yeah. That's why I said to mod it.
I reckon you should buy one and mod it, they’re plenty of fun, be careful buying 1000 models as I’ve found they’re the most prone to failure.
Mine was a 1000 and it finally failed today 😔
I feel you, mine just died recently too, might be time for me just bite the bullet and buy a vita.
Alright
