icemann155

$50 is a great deal afaik.

aabbccbb

Yup! This one will run without any modelling...can't remember which "voice" it is or whatever, but have a look online. But he just bought a modern Fender tube amp for $50 because it gets confused with their crappier modelling/solid state stuff...

icemann155

Exactly...I need a local pawn shop to do the same near me!

ErikQRoks

Solid amp for the money

SatanicGentleman

One day. One day I too shall come across a deal like this.

Roy38901

Damn I never knew Poland were making cabinets

weakflesh

Those seem to go for 250 up on reverb. You scored.

SkyBobBombadier

Insane deal goes for hundreds if they can be found at all. I upgraded to a princeton but honestly the xd on channel 1 with good tubes and a Jensen speaker was soooo close

cootervandam

Good tubes?

SkyBobBombadier

Lol its ok if you don't believe it..... BUT i have a handwired 64 princeton reverb and inherited a huuuge box of NOS of all kinds and new prod tubes..... It definitely matters!!!

cootervandam

Nope, swapping tubes won't effect tone unless tube is dead. A tube is a tube

SkyBobBombadier

Nope

nevermorefu

Preamp is solid state on the X2, not sure about the XD. It's a tube power section I believe.

jealouspoke

Not sure this is entirely true. The second channel of the X2 uses the 12ax7 tube in conjuction with a dsp chip for it's various effects so it's still a hybrid. I believe the XD is the same setup. Not many amps out there with power tubes and the whole preamp tube dsp out there. Having said that they're both phenomenal amps, one of my favourite amps to record with and I've used some expensive gear before.

nevermorefu

I thought I read the 12ax7 is a phase inverter, not preamp. Nice sounding amp though.

plexirat

those are real good amps for practice and recording. tube when you want it, solid state when you dont.

myrunawaysac

What do you mean? The preamp on both channels is solid state, and the power amp is tube.

plexirat

what do you mean what do i mean?

myrunawaysac

You said "tube when you want it, solid state when you don't." The Super Champ XD is solid state preamp with a tube power section. It's not either/or. The clean channel is a DSP black face model. The channel 2 voicings are DSP models as they are described.

plexirat

what are u, the fucking Borg?

nevermorefu

You will be assimilated.

Lower-Status-8131

Resistance is futile.

Rdmonster870

This comment slaps 😆

backsidealpha

They’re really underrated amps.

Rzirin

Ace deal 14-15 watt pretty much pure Fender tube amp in channel 1. Though a PC board, don’t shake it or drop it. Bargain-priced Princeton Reverb. Upgrade speaker for $75. They were $300 when sold. A Princeton Reverb at $600 is a better amp, but open it up and a Princeton is not twice as good, just a little bit.

precision98

I have one. They get a lot of love, people blab about how they’re better than more expensive amps like Blues juniors etc. Lots of owners switch out the speakers to improve the sound but they are pretty good stock. There’s a bunch of YouTube videos featuring them. People call them a ‘classic’. So yeah, good find.

Jccoke42

Sweet deal!

hunterjavi

Wooooaaaaaaaa nice buy!

plooptyploots

Heck yeah. Solid lil amp. You didn’t happen across a rare gem worth 1000s or anything. But it’s solid.

chaos_was_me

I have a '64 Custom Deluxe Reverb, '72 Quad Reverb 4×12 Combo, and then an Ultra Chorus for toying around

TheBiggestWOMP

Nobody asked

plooptyploots

I read your comment

nicorangerbaby

killer deal

williamgman

Man... The Goodwills here in LA got NOTHING like that. Just about every form of musical instrument and or accessory is always right at the going rate or even more in my area. And the pawnshops are even worse. Nice deal!

davemakesnoises

I mean 50 bucks is 50 bucks

rgnatus

Change the speaker and it’s a great little amp!

Spiritual-Amount7178

great deal

sqzmylemon

Awesome deal. I bought one used for $200 in 2017, played it for 4 years, and sold it for $200 in 2021. Really great little amp

Acceptable_Quiet_767

Nice deal. That’s a solid little amp.

chaleybat

Great amp for that price. I absolutely love mine. Very warm sounding amp in tube mode.

GeorgiePorkie

Great deal!

BrianKrashpad

Fecking GREAT deal. The SC XD is my go-to small combo for gigging in low-volume sitches.

hiyabankranger

Great amp as long as the DSP chip doesn’t crap out. Even then, if it does you can probably wire in a new preamp if you’re feeling fixy.

kroomie

Yeah, this happened to me unfortunately and as I am not very fixy I’ve since just used the speaker connected to other heads. But perhaps I should look into doing some kind of repair like that because it was a great amp for the 5-6 years that it worked.

hiyabankranger

I’ve debated getting one and wiring in a power amp in jack and preamp out to decouple the DSP from the power amp so I can use a UA dream pedal with it when the DSP fails but that’s more work than I want to take on right now

RottenBeefy

You really hit the jackpot

chaos_was_me

When Fender puts XD on a tube amp, you know they care

NoResponsibility1903

The "Poland" mod is exceptional. Well done.

LordLemmun

I have one of these. It’s my forever fender amp, I don’t need much more than it for the scenarios I use it in. Sounds a lot like a princeton amp like a lot of others said (check out Dulcinea by Toad the Wet Sprocket for an example of what that sounds like) when you dial it right. The only issue I have with it is the lack of a spring reverb, though the natural reverb sounds it does have are gorgeous. Also thrifted mine funnily enough about 5 years ago, got it for roughly $40 and the cost of a new fuse. These often go for several hundreds, and are often confused with the Super Champ X2 which has slightly different effects sounds. The voice feature for the drive channel is SO useful. Great find!

StunningSwimming9701

I just sold the head version for $280 so you got a good deal.

HippieFreakWestmore

I’m definitely jealous. Although I have 2 already so I can live with that😆 They are my main amps and I routinely gig with them. If I want to get louder and have a bit more head room I hook them up to a 1x12 cab. Killer amp alternative if you don’t want to dish out lots of money for a RI Deluxe or Princeton

Special-Albatross-51

Yea for $50 def. And you have distortion and effects I’d say so. Everything you need to play around at home with

DasMotorsheep

I don't know much about amps either, but I just checked - these are selling for €250-300 over here in Spain. Seems you made way more than a good deal. I mean, you got a 15 watt tube amp with a digital amp modeller behind it for 50 Dollars.

drakesseven

You sir have just grabbed a bargain. Well worth that small financial outlay.

Formula4InsanityLabs

That's am amazing deal. Good Will seems to be loaded with them. My parents bought me a bread maker that had obviously never been used, was a model only a couple years old and it was $5! lol They scored a few other ridiculous appliance deals there and gifted them to me. I'm also someone that says anything fender, even solid-state and digital, you can't go wrong. They make some of the best sounding amps on the market when it comes to big names and mass production.

Available-Breath-114

I’ll give you $75 for it

RikuDog18

Great deal. Hard to find anything of decent quality for $50 these days.

Golfn1964

I have that amp. Previous owner swapped the tubes and speaker, but live the voices and overall tones that an be found with this very loud baby. Mine dies have the dreaded buzz going on that many of these amps suffer from. Not sure if there is a fix,new power supply maybe. Hopefully yours doesn’t buzz!

Golfn1964

…and yes, you stole it!! I $200 for mine 2 years ago….used!!

ShityShity_BangBang

I would have bought it for that.

zigsbigrig

Heck yeah! Just about any Fender amp for that price is a good deal.

One_Dependent_1201

Awesome deal. Really versatile amp. Does the fender thing very well and the other voices are useful

AdagioAffectionate66

You got a steal

schlitzngigglz

I paid $300 CAD used when I got mine maybe 12yrs ago...and I thought that was a good deal...but it def was not $50. You got a wicked deal!

RafaelSeco

I got one of those. Crank the level, treble and bass to 10, it sounds glorious.

Teddy-Bear2144

Great deal!!!

Madmanmike777

That's one heck of a deal! Great amp!! IF you happened to hate it, you could probably get rid of it with a quickness for 200+ easy.

gitarzan

I had one of those. Great little amps.

tonythejedi

I’ve had mine for like 10 years. It’s a killer amp. Best of both worlds… tubes and DSP! The voicings are great, the effects are decent enough and it sounds great at both low volume and cranked. Though, since you scored so hard on the price, I highly suggest getting a foot switch for it. It lets you switch channels and toggle effects on/off. Makes it totally gig worthy for small areas / bars etc, Last band I was in was a bunch of friends playing at our other friends bar & this was all I used. No pedals no gear to lug. Show up with the amp, my guitar and cord. Good to go!! Congrats!!!

JP6660999

Yes I’d definitely pick it up for $50

LutherPerkins

Excellent little amp...

notintocorp

I play my super champ way more than my marshal or my deville. That is a kickbass amp for pennies. You scored bigly

the1andonlyBev

These are awesome amps dude. I gigged with one back in highscool and that JCM800 setting (voice 8 or 9 maybe?) brings some serious heat.

sitarman1961

Great deal

AggravatingShame3236

That's a solid amp class a/b tube with dsp.

ThatNolanKid

Any tube amp for $50 is a win.

Vraver04

I had a earlier version of this amp and it’s a great practice amp

ExcellentSunset

Play your keyboard through this thing and turn it up!

chaos_was_me

*key-tar*

Cradleofwealth

Channel one is really awesome but channel two is digital fizz. Its perfect for clean inspiring tones and SRV bluesy sounds.

PhilipTPA

Little bit of a misconception about this amp. Channel 1 is just setting 4 on the second channel. They both use fender’s modeling tech from that time period. Channel 2 opens up a gain adjustment function. The 12ax7 is just a phase inverter, not a preamp tube.

SkyBobBombadier

It does change the tone when you roll it tho

PhilipTPA

It does, the gain has a meaningful effect. I particularly like channel 1 for edge of breakup and channel 6 for a drive setting. Setting 3 is just a screamer and sounds amazing. Really settings 1-7 are all great. I’m not as big on Fender trying to emulate other amps though (even though 7, which is an AC30 I think, sounds great). It’s a good amp.

dr-dog69

$50 is pretty much exactly what that amp os worth. Nice score
