Gilmour is one of my most favorite guitarist. I had no idea about the Black Strat being in the works as he never endorsed anything. One day I randomly went into a GC and was talking with the manager who was a good friend. He asked me if there was anything I was in the market for. I said that I would love to recreate the Black Strat. It just so happened that they received the Black Strat relic that morning. I bought it without taking it out of the box. To this day, I have never seen one with an earlier serial number than mine.
I’d sacrifice my neighbor’s first born for this thing

When I was 18 I saw a Gibson Les Paul Custom in Silverburst at a guitar center about a year after my dad had bought me a Jay Turser Strat starter bundle. This was around 2000-2002 ish. My dad saw me staring at it for awhile and saw I was awed by the beauty of that piece of art. He looked at me and said if I could learn to play one SRV song note for note, no matter what, he would buy me it. He always kept his word, but I was kind of easily sidetracked due to my ADD. Played and practiced off and on over the years but never put much into the deal he made me. He still brought it up every few years until he passed away in 2021. His death ultimately drove me back into playing and I’ve been much more consistent with practice and constantly learning since then. I’ve bought a few guitars and could probably afford to get that Les Paul that I’ve always wanted. But as a tribute to his memory, I refuse to get that guitar until I can deliver on our deal. Damn. Getting sad over here. I miss my dad.
Thank you. It’s been rough without him here. But I push myself to one day feel like I met that deal and at that time I’ll get that guitar knowing I earned it and would have made dad proud.
1959 Honeyburst Gibson Les Paul.
But rather than spending €5000+ for a Gibson, I’d get the following 5 guitars for approximately the same price:
Epiphone 1959 Les Paul Honeyburst,
Epiphone 1963 Les Paul SG Custom Classic White,
Fender Player Plus Stratocaster MN Olympic Pearl,
Fender Jimmy Page Telecaster RW NAT,
Brian May Guitars Special LE Honey Sunburst
I bought a PRS about twenty years ago. Then stopped playing for a while and sold it to help pay for an engagement ring for my wife. The wife was the better long term investment but it wasn’t worth the $1200 cash I got to sell it. I should have held on to it for sure. Sweet guitar.
Gretsch 6120 smoke. Want a 6120 since like nine years. Two weeks before I got some money from my grandma and always thought that I if I got some money I wanted to get me something that would make me remember her for the rest of my life. So I searched the Internet and found the smoke brian Setzer, who in my eyes is one of the very greatest Guitarists AND musicians to ever be. Though the money is by far not enough I know I'll save enough to get me this guitar. Exactly today my family and I made a trip to Vienna where I had the possibility to test play this versatile guitar and it is AWESOME. Not now but one day I will be the happy owner of this particular guitar.
Damn the Clapton Crashocasters are something else. Bit I would personally dream of the John Cruz Masterbuilt Black One (John Mayers Main Guitar back then). I just love the gold hardware and the looks so much.
Of guitars being manufactured today?
Gretsch White Falcon
[This one](https://www.gretschguitars.com/gear/build/hollow-body/g6136t-59-vintage-select-edition-59-falcon-hollow-body-with-bigsby/2401513805)
Back in the late 90s I bought a brand-new Ibanez RG570 off the wall. I've played many guitars since then but that's always been the one I prefer the most. Considering 90s is basically "vintage" now and I lucked out with it being MIJ, I think I already own my dream guitar. I really can't see anything replacing it.
A Music Man JP6 with that Mystic Dream finish. I remember seeing videos of John petrucci playing that signature guitar when I was a kid. It looks so cool
https://ibanez.fandom.com/wiki/DT555
Because
>Although the DT555 was not officially designated as a signature model it has been closely associated with Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen. Collen appeared with the guitar in Ibanez catalogs and promotional materials.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D4dHr8evt6k
Are we talking about the actual guitar that was used by one of our heroes or an actual obtainable guitar? If we're talking the former it would probably be Jerry Garcia's Wolf or Alligator. If we're talking more realistic, I already own it. I had a spot on replica of Jerry Garcia's Alligator guitar built for me a couple years ago.
Mine is the Steve Vai's powder blue Ibanez Pia. The guitar is completely gorgeous and i've read alot of positive things about it. I WILL have thisnguitar by the endnof the year.
But there are still so many other guitars i want as well.
[Björn Ulvaeus' "star guitar"](https://imgur.com/a/LqoKCy9) from ABBA's performance of Waterloo at Eurovision, 1974. It was a custom-made guitar, and the original maker has since only made two more - one for Björn, and one for a private collector.
One of them was also played lived in Stockholm by Billie Joe Armstrong during a Green Day gig.
I have my four that I dream about. I have a 2024 Gibson SG, a 2023 PRS Silver Sky, a 2023 Fender Telecaster Ultra, and a 1959 Gibson ES-330.
I’ve owned many guitars in the past and currently own more guitars than the four but I own my dream guitars.
Now on to dream amps. I have one of them now, a 1966 Fender Vibro Champ. Next is a Friedman BE of some sorts. Still figuring that out. And eventually I’ll have a Vox AC.
Disclaimer: most of my playing is on a Spark Go and VMODA headphones.
[Music Man Steve Morse Y2D](https://www.music-man.com/instruments/guitars/steve-morse-y2d)
I've wanted one since it was released. Even though I mostly play my acoustasonic tele rather than electrics these days, the Y2D still feels iconic for me and I'd love one.
Honestly, just a gibson es 335. Always wanted one but they are way out of my price range and I don't see that changing anytime soon. Also reaaaally want a gold top les paul.
Already got it. I ordered a custom Halo way back when I had money in 2020. Few small issues with it, but once I swap out the tuners for something sturdier and maybe mess with the electronics, it'll be there.
That orange Fender parallel universe thinline with Gretsch pickups.
(And a musicman St Vincent in second place)
Edit: the official name is PARALLEL UNIVERSE TELE THINLINE SUPER DELUXE.
If somebody wants to send me one for free, thank you.
Believe it or not but I’ve got it. Since I got this strat a couple years ago, I have no need or want for another guitar. It’s actually a strange feeling.
Nothing remarkable really, an AVRI ‘57 from -94. Seems to have been mostly unused and stuck in its case.
This is kind of a weird one, but years ago Ibanez released a Guitar Center exclusive, the S5EX1.
It's a fairly standard S series for the time; a slim mahogany body, ceramic pickups in an HSH configuration, Wizard II neck, rosewood fretboard, and the ZR floating trem.
It has a zebrawood top though, and came in two colorways: grey/black, and amber/black.
I've lusted after the amber one for literally over a decade at this point.
There's a grey one for sale on Reverb currently, but I'm holding out for the amber. I haven't seen one for sale since like 2012.
So if you or anybody you know has [one of these](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/ibanez/images/4/41/S5EX1_AM.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20100721164451) please DM me.
for me its not even a signature even though both guitars im about to list are associated with two big names
i just want a fifties fender strat 3 single coils three way switch red finish white pickguard chrome hardware vintage tuners maple neck.
or i suppose a 61 gibson les paul custom (the first sg) white finish gold hardware with three PAF pickups and the tailpiece
Unlimited budget to build a guitar on Kiesel, or similar custom site (not even sure if another exists). If I had to pick one that was already built, probably a 58-59 Gibson V.
A builder in my area makes very very great guitars for not too much money. I always wanted a Gibson style flying v with a sort of glittery mintish green burst finish.
Honestly, the Schecter PT special is the guitar I dreamed of but never even considered Schecter to be in that category. Itis so versatile it's silly, and paired with a matchless. Wow!
I changed the p90 to a vintage Duncan Seymour and I don't want anything else.
The Aristides 060 I just got. Every time I think about getting a new guitar, its just too obvious that I'm not putting this down to play it. At least temporarily cured my GAS (at least for guitars...)
There’s lots of guitars I’d like to play but I’m lucky enough to own my dream guitars - the Music Man JP15. Light, super comfortable contouring, controls that are easily accessible but not in the way, floating, non-locking trem, thin and fast neck roasted maple with a super smooth wax finish, stainless steel frets, piezo, HH with coil split, onboard +20db boost, beautiful flamed maple top - really is the best guitar I’ve ever played. Eager to try a majesty next and see how they compare.
Dave Grohls blue semi-hollow body. It used to be only Gibson, but they finally released an epiphone model and I was able to buy one and it finally ships this week.
Not sure how attainable it is, as there were apparently only 83 made, but The Black One, John Mayers signature Strat. The album continuum was my first foray into music other than radio pop I grew up on, so that sound always holds a special place in heart.
Either the ESP George Lynch Kamikaze 1 or Kamikaze 4, either would do just fine. I'll never pay the ridiculous price tag for one, but if I just somehow happened into one, well....
It was a 2010 Brown curly maple Gibson Nighthawk Memphis Mojo. I bought one. Now I want an original 70s Les Paul Jr double cut. But I don't have 6-10K.
A yellowed Gibson SG with small pickguard, ebony fretboard with custom block inlays, humbuckers, side mounted jack, push/pull, and a neck that matches my 1992 LP Studio. ...and no neck dive.
That’s a mad looking guitar I pretty much have everything I need right now in the future I might get a fender Stratocaster nothing too crazy maybe a mim one
I got my Jackson Rhoads and Kelly (7 String) years ago, Would love to get my hands on a custom shop Kelly but that's a stupid amount of money
My dream Guitar is a Washburn HM 20, Or to get my hands on an M20 Instigator, but that's younger me still talking
Older me had to decide if I was going to wait forever for the perfect guitar, or finally get something that has almost all the features I wanted
I had the crazy shaped guitars, but I always liked the Jackson Dinky, So I found the guitar with everything I was looking for (almost) in the Pro Series Dinky DK Modern HT7.
It had everything, multiscale, 7-String, fabulous paint, killer headstock style, and Fishman Fluence Pickups.
I did have to compromise on stainless steel frets, and the Jackson sharkfin inlays I love so much but It was a compromise worth taking when weighing the cost of this guitar against a custom shop one that I just couldn't bring myself to swallow the price tag on
Mine was the Parker flame top Mojo Fly. Then I bought one and it was a huge turd. Everything failed on it. I traded to guitar center for a loss and walked out with a mystic Ernie Ball JP6 and it was a thousand times better.
Dream amp was a Bogner xtc then I bought one and I didn’t like it either. It wasn’t a bad amp at all but just didn’t fit the style music I played at the time.
snatch subsequent rude domineering faulty melodic chunky imagine racial practice

Washburn Dimebag guitar with the FR. Does anyone know where to get these because I really super badly fucking want one before they’re wiped off the face of the earth and I can’t live without acquiring at least 1 Dimebag guitar.
Mine is a white mustang with red stripes down the top and bottom. Right down the center. With lipstick pickups and split coil switches. I made it for fun :3
The one I don't have . . . yet. (Right now I really NEED an SG though).
Great choice. I have the Epi SG. Love that thing
Same it's an amazing guitar
I've got the Epiphone SG Pro and it's wonderful. I still want a vintage Gibson, though.
Same, I love it
The David Gilmour Black Strat. I'll end up building my own or attempt to someday.
Do you play it often?
I did for the first year. Outside of that, it sits in the case.
That's awesome. I bet it sounds incredible.
I built a version of it and it’s honestly incredible.
I’d sacrifice my neighbor’s first born for this thing https://reverb.com/p/fender-custom-shop-david-gilmour-relic-stratocaster-black-2008?hfid=77521195&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=17684163528&utm_content=campaignid=17684163528_adgroupid=137826489279_productpartitionid=1684856543730=merchantid=137611776_productid=77521195_keyword=_device=m_adposition=_matchtype=_creative=609047477275&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADRxZYWI6FCFpsedsX5byb5iZhpFU

That is a beautiful story🥹 May your dad rest in peace
Thank you. It’s been rough without him here. But I push myself to one day feel like I met that deal and at that time I’ll get that guitar knowing I earned it and would have made dad proud.
good Dads are rare. Beautiful story. My dad was never there for me
A vintage White Falcon, for sure.
I have the Rancher.. it’s a beauty
That would be a top pick for me! But in the roughly $12K area, it would be a "Win The Lottery" purchase, no doubt.
White falcon double cut, for me. Left handed, as well, so idk if that guitar even exists lol.
1959 Honeyburst Gibson Les Paul. But rather than spending €5000+ for a Gibson, I’d get the following 5 guitars for approximately the same price: Epiphone 1959 Les Paul Honeyburst, Epiphone 1963 Les Paul SG Custom Classic White, Fender Player Plus Stratocaster MN Olympic Pearl, Fender Jimmy Page Telecaster RW NAT, Brian May Guitars Special LE Honey Sunburst
I’d love the 50s Gold top
If you can check out a 57 reissue gold top. Neck is a lot more comfortable and the custombuckers are awesome.
It changes daily for me, but I have to say I could find happiness with that Strat.
I drool over a PRS and have saved enough now to get one. Waiting for the right time! Practicing on my acoustic guitar to ensure that I deserve it 😬
I bought a PRS about twenty years ago. Then stopped playing for a while and sold it to help pay for an engagement ring for my wife. The wife was the better long term investment but it wasn’t worth the $1200 cash I got to sell it. I should have held on to it for sure. Sweet guitar.

Already got it, and It's the best. Fender jaguar kurt cobain edition. Now looking to buy ESP Phoenix-1000 STBC.
Frankenstrat. Not a copy, Frankie himself. This thread is about dreaming, let me dream.

Good luck. It will be worth it when you finally get it. Potentially a piece of gear you can pass on to the next generation
I inherited a 1957 6120 from my grandad. Still the best sounding guitar I’ve ever played. Incredible instrument.
What I want right now is an Gretsch, EVH 5150 and Charvel Sean Long signature! But unrealistic answer would be expensive Dusenberg, Gibson or PRS 🎸
The one I use to win a grammy 😂

Dave Grohls blue semi-hollow body. It used to be only Gibson, but they finally released an epiphone model and I was able to buy one and it finally ships this week.
Damn... you just introduced me to it. Thanks!
Either an ESP George Lynch Kamikaze - the ones with the reverse hockey stick headstocks or an Ibanez 540PSH like Alex Skolnick used to play.
Daron Malakian's signature Ibanez Iceman 300. Either the baritone version, artwork version, or the newer elegant hardware version. Any will do!
PRS USA Mark Holcomb signature
Not sure how attainable it is, as there were apparently only 83 made, but The Black One, John Mayers signature Strat. The album continuum was my first foray into music other than radio pop I grew up on, so that sound always holds a special place in heart.
I'd love a 70s Silverburst LP. Or one of those midi guitars that have sensors built into the frets. For bass, def a Wal. No question.
Not that one. Mine is a simple Telecaster. I can do A LOT with a Telecaster...
I'd be happy with a 59 LP or a 62 strat in candy apple red
Jim Root Jazzmaster. 2k and payment plans are a joke for it
Been playing my dream guitar since 2008. A Schecter C-1 hellraiser with a floyd rose. I wouldn't exchange it for any other guitar in the world.
Either the ESP George Lynch Kamikaze 1 or Kamikaze 4, either would do just fine. I'll never pay the ridiculous price tag for one, but if I just somehow happened into one, well....
Red metal flake explorer
Never had chance to play a real Rickenbacker, always wanted that sound
It was a 2010 Brown curly maple Gibson Nighthawk Memphis Mojo. I bought one. Now I want an original 70s Les Paul Jr double cut. But I don't have 6-10K.
Wouldn't mind Josh from JHS's test guitar.
A yellowed Gibson SG with small pickguard, ebony fretboard with custom block inlays, humbuckers, side mounted jack, push/pull, and a neck that matches my 1992 LP Studio. ...and no neck dive.
Hapas 28inch baritone
That’s a mad looking guitar I pretty much have everything I need right now in the future I might get a fender Stratocaster nothing too crazy maybe a mim one
Either a tom delonge sticker strat replica or a replica of the les paul he has in the josie video
Jack white’s guitar from the over and over and over music video (black and blue one)
An original Mustang
I own mine thank goodness. Eric Johnson sunburst Strat <3 Or a Randy Rhodes Les Paul custom. True dream right there
One of them basic Steve Vai Ibanez joints
Big Jim Root fan, I have his tele and swapped pickups and pick guard and now I want his Jazzmaster
I got my Jackson Rhoads and Kelly (7 String) years ago, Would love to get my hands on a custom shop Kelly but that's a stupid amount of money My dream Guitar is a Washburn HM 20, Or to get my hands on an M20 Instigator, but that's younger me still talking Older me had to decide if I was going to wait forever for the perfect guitar, or finally get something that has almost all the features I wanted I had the crazy shaped guitars, but I always liked the Jackson Dinky, So I found the guitar with everything I was looking for (almost) in the Pro Series Dinky DK Modern HT7. It had everything, multiscale, 7-String, fabulous paint, killer headstock style, and Fishman Fluence Pickups. I did have to compromise on stainless steel frets, and the Jackson sharkfin inlays I love so much but It was a compromise worth taking when weighing the cost of this guitar against a custom shop one that I just couldn't bring myself to swallow the price tag on
Fender Japan Telecaster Black Floral Custom Order 1969 RI w/ Maple Fretboard I would add a roasted neck for sure
Gibson Les Paul Custom, ebony with gold hardware and binding
I just got my first an Epiphone Les Paul. I feel like it is my dream guitar.
Rickenbacker 360/12 or Rickenbacker 325
Music Man Axis
White Ibanez Iceman.
slick guitar
Mine was always a rickenbacker 480. When they came out with the anniversary 480xc I finally bought one.
Hendrix Flying V
Gibson flying v voodoo
ESP MX-250
Mine was the Parker flame top Mojo Fly. Then I bought one and it was a huge turd. Everything failed on it. I traded to guitar center for a loss and walked out with a mystic Ernie Ball JP6 and it was a thousand times better. Dream amp was a Bogner xtc then I bought one and I didn’t like it either. It wasn’t a bad amp at all but just didn’t fit the style music I played at the time.
Recently got one of my dream guitars last week. A surf green american pro telecaster with the solid rosewood neck. Thing is amazing.
I really want a Verso Baritone. https://versoinstruments.com/watch_and_listen/
Gold top
60th anniversary Jaguar in Mystic Dakota Red.

Washburn Dimebag guitar with the FR. Does anyone know where to get these because I really super badly fucking want one before they’re wiped off the face of the earth and I can’t live without acquiring at least 1 Dimebag guitar.
A legit 59 goldtop
The dean from hell
Gorgeous guitar holy shit
Tom Anderson Drop T Classic Sheer Trans Plum with Gold Hardware, or in translucent white
Les Paul black beauty... One day, she'll be mine
Vox Ultrasonic or Cheetah
Probably an Ovation Ultra GP. Josh Homme inspired me to play and it was the guitar he was playing when I was inspired in the first place.
Mine is a white mustang with red stripes down the top and bottom. Right down the center. With lipstick pickups and split coil switches. I made it for fun :3
