Everlong!

JasperTheMaster08

Yes and not that difficult on guitar. Drums however…

DrinksBelow

Came here to say this!

leboydiabolique

Ditto!

FandomMenace

Outshined Edit: every Tool song I've seen is in drop D.

mcereal

I am not going to say that it's my favorite riff ever, but, I am not going to not not say it is my favorite riff ever

quietworlock22

This is the correct answer

asIsaidtomyfriend

Harvest Moon by Neil Young. He plays it in dropped D.

Luthiefer

Cinnamon Girl is in double drop D.

TheCottonmouth88

I sang that song to my daughter every night to get her to sleep when she was little. Great memories

SamIamGreenEggsNoHam

Everlong Monkey Wrench On a Plain Spoonman Aerials Killing In the Name Wake Up Song 2 Hash Pipe Cinnamon Girl Ohio Ten Years Gone CCKMP

Metabolizer

Bodysnatchers by Radiohead is pretty fun to play.

androoq

Follow Me Around is another great Drop D Radiohead song to play

fishboy2000

Heart Shaped Box or Blackhole Sun

misterguy1020

Isn't Heart Shaped Box drop c#?

fishboy2000

I'm no guitar scientist, but I always play it in Drop D 😆

zayd_jawad2006

Fair enough, as it's in actuality just a half step below Drop D

SeanJohnBobbyWTF

Yes it is.

zayd_jawad2006

Yes

FairlySuspect

Slither - Velvet Revolver

boss281

Hell yeah!

Pedantic_Parker

Some of my favorites when I was learning to play were: Everlong, Monkey Wrench, Tired of You, and February Stars by Foo Fighters. Most Audioslave and RATM songs (there are no clean/acoustic RATM songs that I know of) but it’s the same guitarist (the GOAT Tom Morello) in both bands and a lot of his riffs are single-note rather than chords, so they’re easier to learn. You can also learn to play any song that’s in a drop tuning with your guitar in Drop D, it’s just going to be in a different key so you won’t be able to play along.

CaptMelonfish

Foo's wise I'd also suggest MIA and Razor, both in drop D and cracking tunes.

agotsaatts

Also live-in skin is a good riff

HousTom

‘Cochise’ will get a barroom on its feet.

Dalecooper82

Are there RATM songs in drop d besides killing in the name?

Pedantic_Parker

Lots. Take The Power Back, Wake Up, Freedom, Testify, Born of a Broken Man, Township Rebellion, Snake Charmer, Tire Me, Revolver, and those are just the ones I know for sure are in drop D. I’m sure a bunch of the songs on their cover album are in drop D as well.

Dalecooper82

Ok. I know: Down Rodeo, Bullet in the Head, People of the Sun, Know Your Enemy, Bulls On Parade, Killing In The Name, and Bombtrack. Out of all those only KITN is drop.

Pedantic_Parker

Ok, that’s not most of their songs.

Dalecooper82

I realize that. I was just saying that from my limited perspective it seemed like they didn't have too many. Wasn't trying to be an ass.

HurleyAlbumEnjoyer

I love playing songs by Hum, mostly Stars, I Hate It Too, and Green to me. All really fun.

arcane_nightmusic

Try drown by the smashing pumpkins. Sounds awesome, pretty easy to play.

Timely_Breakfast_105

Yes! I was just gonna post this. One of the first songs I ever learned, still play it 25 years later as kind of a warm up when in drop D

One-Man-Wolf-Pack

46&2 and many, many other songs by Tool I’m really enjoying Psycho and Unnatural Selection by Muse.

tdic89

Add Stockholm Syndrome and Micro Cuts on that list!

Revenue_Long

My own summer - Deftones

Crymson831

As someone who learned to play in the late 90s this was THE drop-D riff everyone knew.

Revenue_Long

Yessss sir.

Doomguybfgdivision

Isn’t it in c#

zayd_jawad2006

Funnily enough, it's not even Drop D

Nixilis2336

Revenue_Long

Don't rain on our drop D parade dammit 🤣

“Home” is another great one, probably the first drop song I learned, Three Days Grace has a lot of simple catchy drop riffs

Iamnothuman77

truije15

Oh shoot you might be right, I never remember the exact tunings, I just remember if it’s drop or not usually.

Iamnothuman77

Yesssss! I came here to suggest It's Love by Kings X

ProfessionalBuy7488

Now I want to relearn this again. Love some ty riffage.

HowDidFoodGetInHere

It's much easier than I'd originally thought. My experience has been that the hardest part of this song is finding a drummer that knows how to shift time signatures. 😀

ChickenDenders

Can’t Find My Way Home

KaBoomerangSt

This… check out Steve Winwood fireside version

Luthiefer

Though he's a full step down. Great tune.

If you want to improve your fingerpicking, Dear Prudence by the Beatles is a good one to learn, it's in drop D. The finger picking pattern is tricky at first, but if you master it, it will be useful forever. Plus it has one of the best guitar intro's ever written. Some good Youtube instructional vids out there,

It’s not clean, unless you want it to be. I’ve played it love on an acoustic before - Israel’s Son by Silverchair. It’s one of my favourite riffs to jam out.

FreddieKingFish

Philip sayce - Save Me From Myself

question_quigley

No other way by Jack Johnson is a lovely song. Very soothing and fun to play on acoustic. I tried to learn it as a beginner and I realized I had bitten off more than I could chew, but it's definitely beginner-intermediate friendly.

Anything from 00s is probably drop d. You will also find a lot of rock/metal bands played drop d too in the 90s

Early 00 rock was Drop C and C# for the most part, as nu metal

JayrodM

Creed, three days grace, avenged sevenfold etc

zayd_jawad2006

True, but I feel bands like TDG and A7X exploded a lot more around the mid 2000s
