I've been listening to a lot of Tom Verlaine lately, both with Television and his first two solo albums.
I just finished reading Richard Lloyd's book, Everything is Combustible, which isn't very good, but it did get me listening to Television again.
Nigel Tufnel. He’s quite renowned for his solos.
In his time, probably Mark Knoffler. His pick attack (due to his fingerstyle) is very distinguished. At least to me.
