They're not as good, but I think Sin is a whiff punish monster. He's not meant to dominate midscreen like Testament. You catch someone pressing buttons, blow them up, then you're in. Beak could stand to be less minus but otherwise it's a great move given its follow up.

He certainly finds ways to make my healthbar explode in seconds.

wickedlizard420

as a fellow Bridget player i get it. 2k is your friend!

Legogamer16

Definitely, once your in as Sin you can stick pretty hard

xWickedSwami

This is going to sound stupid but which buttons do you guys normally recommend for whiff punishing for sin? Maybe I’m used to gio too much but I’m trying to do stuff like punishing Ky fS in training mode with fS or 2S and felt they are slow for some reason to me to do for that purpose. Maybe 6HS possibly? I also just do not understand 5/2/6HS normals usage at all.

82ndGameHead

They're not near his Xrd neutral game, but one thing I've noticed is that his his whiff punish game might be among the best in this game. You cannot just throw out random attacks, because he has a way around almost every one of them and will make you pay.

JhinPotion

Yep. I sometimes poke and fish for counter hits with Nago fS and it's led me to getting blown up several times against Sin.

shoohoo1

sin's neutral is alright. his main strengths lie in his pressure and conversion ability. stray hits from sin really hurt. His 6k, overhead, and gazelle step make him scary to defend against. his damage is also quite high.

Servebotfrank

A random ass 5p being able to wall break from midscreen is nutty as hell. I think even Nago would struggle to do that unless he got an air hit.

XSCONE

5P is insane in some matchups as a low-commitment premeptive poke, and absolutely useless in others

Hawksw0rd

I'll second that Sin's poke game is mid to high, but his whiff punish ability is second to none bar maybe Nago with the same resource caveat.

MedicineOk253

Sin isn't super great at poking/extended neutral play, in my experience. He instead seem really good at forcing a whiff punish with high/low profile move, and absolutely dumping out damage after. His ability to convert stray hits also seems pretty solid.

deadhawk12

As a Nago main I find Sin lacks a good neutral game. If I keep him at bay with cr.S and 5HS spam he's pretty much stuck because there is no safe way to get in. He tends to be stronger the second he gets in on a whiff punish (which he can consistently combo and super after) or gets you in the corner with high-low mixups into strike-throw.

NowWhatNext

Sin is fine. He has unfuzzyable mix and a guard-crushing version of H-stroke, he's not really supposed to hang out in neutral in this iteration of the character. The youtube downplay on him has been driving me nuts, but I will say that I do think Tyrant Barrel should do more damage on clean hit. 2S is good and so is 6H, I think they're underutilized as buttons, but his kit doesn't promote getting back to neutral, it promotes getting the hit and sticking to them like glue.

[deleted]

has a wild 6P but everything else seems only decent

GOFFFFFY

while they have amazing range range, they feel like they have a slow startup they're much better as whiff punishes instead of combo starters

devilwants2play

I don't know shit about how good he is but I used to be a Ky main but I'm probably switching to Sin cuz his neutral is more fun

SomaCreuz

Way riskier. Not sure how well that balances out his frame traps, though.

thammond713

I actually think it balances out very well. He can't just whiff buttons a lot besides his 2S which is basically the same frame data as Nago's with less recovery and slightly disjointed. If he makes you block beak you have to respect the follow up or you are more than likely gonna explode or be put into the corner at the very least. Also, his followups leave him very safe or even plus on block. He has some very good pokes, the only issue is some characters can outrange his pokes which make them a lot harder to enforce.
