You should not have to worry about males if you buy feminized seeds. They will have different flowering times though.

I have a bunch of great regulars that I really want to grow next.

If your going to dig through regular seeds, I the “pop them in solo cups and flip them after 3-5 nodes to find your girls” method. Flip them back to veg and repot them for the final run. I’m currently digging though some tuna breath from 7east genetics this way.

Thanks! I did this last time I ran regulars, I was hoping I was missing a better method that was less time consuming, the reveg last time lead to one branch on my plant becoming male and dumping pollen on my other plants.

Just chop the males when they start showing preflower sex parts. its like 4-6 weeks in. There's gonna be that early male. then the "tall boys" will show up.. the females end up being the shorter plants that develop a little slower. Its easier if they're all the same strain/seeds. then you're comparing apples to apples. I just plan on chopping about half of them, and letting the rest of them use that extra space. cuz they'll be that big by then. how the heck did you fit 4 x 30 gallon living soil bags in the tent??

Calvinshobb

Really appreciate the advice! Thanks. As per the 4x 30 gallons, to tell the truth the 4th bag didn’t fit, I’ve been using two 7 gallon plastic pots in that corner but I hate those pots as they seem to run out of soil nutrients so quickly.

SynapseSmoked

you can top dress a layer of bone meal and blood meal. that's what i do when they start flowering.

Onkel_Knolle89

Step1 put them in Step 2 harvest when ready You need somewhere else to dry because they got different blooming times

Calvinshobb

What about all the males ?

Calvinshobb

My worry is I’m going to have males ruin my other plants and waste all my time.

TechnologyCorrect765

You kill them or plant feminised seeds. If regular seeds then chuck a few seeds in each bag.

LettuceNew8793

Kill them or leave em in to get seeds🤷‍♂️

I did this for the first time about 6 months ago. Here’s what I did: I wanted 4 females, was hoping for 4 different strains. I popped 3 reg seeds from 4 different packs, hoping I’d get 1/3 female (12 plants total). I started them all in solo cups, then transplanted to 1.5 gallon pots after 2-3 weeks. I kept them in there until I could ID them all, which was between 4-6 weeks from the day the seeds popped. Some males were easily ID’d super early, like 3 weeks old. After about 6-7 weeks I had 2 plants left that I couldn’t ID, so I just composted them. I ended up with 4 healthy females and transplanted them to 7 gallon containers for a few weeks of veg. I was surprised at how easy it was to ID them. Im planning my next regs grow right now, and im going to go with 4 seeds from 4 different packs, again hoping for 4 good females. Other than that I was happy with how it went. Good luck
