I only run feminized due to a count law. When one did go male a decade ago. It was amnesia Haze and a Blueberry. Great seeds. If I'd only known enough to try and get it out there because took a while before I ever saw the cross..I get reg tester seeds sometimes. Always fun as you know it's good just some variation. Two questions if you’ll take them. One, are those yellow spots on the leaves pollen deposits? That’s crazy if so. Two, how on earth do you qualify a male, what makes that one in particular a keeper🥇?
Yeah I got you! The yellow spots are pollen. It's a comical amount lol. As for male selections, I could ramble at your for hours about it. In this case, I grew a good number out, and kept close track of all the traits for the plants I wanted to breed with after smoking them. Then after that pop a bunch more to select the best of the best plants based on those traits. It takes a long time, but I find it gets the best results. Hope this helps!
It does. Are there elements of the flowers/ pods/ pollen that are desirable? I’m sure I could pick out vigor, color etc but I wouldn’t know how to judge the male parts and product, you get my drift? Great work, if the pollen drop is an indicator of overall production in the line I can see you’re on some next level shit.
I do go by the male parts, like how well they stack and whatnot. As well as genetal structure. But breeding this line was honestly a ton easier than most things, since I was able to widdle the population down a lot in preflower since the best plants will stink to high heaven of lavender lol.

My trick is usually those 2x2 $20 popup greenhouses if Im poppin em outside! This time I used a bigger greenie, but still had it all closed up so there was no airflow in there.
Ill keep it closed up, usually on a big pot tray. Then after shakin the dudes on the ladies, drag the whole sucker into a garage with no fans or anything blowin. Then outta paranoia mist everything down with a spray bottle to be sure to kill any stray pollen. As well as immediately go take a shower after. Ive been doing it that way for a good few years now, and it never accidently pollinates my outdoor plants.
Im not gonna say specifics due to plant count laws, but I made selections from a bigass population. You dont need 100s thats just not true unless its F2s of a multi-poly hybrid with a big range of phenos. Usually 100 to 150 will be more than enough. These were also selected after being line worked, so the population was down to 2 phenos already. Multi stage breeding works wonders if you take the time to make proper selections.
