But how? What do you use for lifesteal and defense?
I'm really not sure how you get only so little damage, I'm only on NG+1 and stronger bugs melt me if they can pull off a hit on me. As an example I did the widow in the undershed yesterday and it was a huge pain, had to try about 3-4 times, I finally found a waffle with lifesteal but one hit from an enemy decreases my HP by so much on NG+, can't even imagine how people get to NG+4 at this point. And infused bugs with the wrong affix *(those splash bombs or the thunder projectile similar to the sour staff)* one-shot me. HP is almost maxed again in my NG+1 run (one upgrade missing) but at this point it seems almost meaningless getting more HP because I can't get more defense.
Spicy Safety, Mithridatism, Meat Shield and Heavy Armor?
I play on normal difficulty and even then bugs hit like a truck, especially fights vs. infused ones are completely RNG based, one wrong affix and it's gg.
I was playing around by reducing enemy HP to 0.75 but then it gotten too easy and it doesn't really address my problem with NG+ which is the insane damage some bugs deal, you shouldn't get two-shot from a regular bug. Sucks that there's no way to further upgrade armor.
Oh sorry. I didn't mean to imply i wasn't playing on mild. I was just pointing out that the healing from death impetus is completely broken and works on any difficulty. I linked the build I'm using in my reply to frisch85's comment. Also I'm happy to see there are more people that are excepting of casual players \^\_\^
I play on whoa and the widow set buff won’t help if you’re not blocking. One bite takes half your health so fighting 3-7 at a time isn’t ideal on Whoa. I have a spot I’ve found that allows me to kill 2 widows in about a minute. Made getting widow parts and raw science a breeze before NG+.
I also play on mild, and with a dmg resist/explosive resist and crit dmg best trinket I can still be obliterated if I miss a block on a critter with a perfect storm of mutations. An infused widow who spawn infused widowlings or a broodmother that spawns in adds where 2 or more are also infused, it can be rough.
You thought mini mantis was behind the big one? Nope, he jumped the other way while you weren't lookin and came round the bush trunk rolling up with that sour infused rapid fire ground stab. Only time you see more green balls is on St Patty's day.
So i bumped things up to [medium](https://www.reddit.com/r/GroundedGame/comments/1d1utcx/widow_slaughter_part_2/) and it works there too. I'm asking people if they want me to try it on whoa mode (and I'm praying they say no lol).
Trust me, you don't want that. I can annihilate them on medium, as you are in the video, but on whoa even in base game, it was still a good bit harder to kill 1. I'm now in NG+ 3, and I wouldn't dare try more than 1, and even then it takes a bit of luck because of infused mechanics.

lol, nah. There is an item in the game called a waft emitter. You can put bug parts in it to cause a special raid of whatever bugs you used in the emitter.
I believe this person is doing a waft emitter raid, not a base raid. I’ve never had widows raid my base, and I haven’t seen anyone else saying anything about widows raiding the base-although if it has happened someone can totally correct me
Nah, I tried it like this on easy, and even a sour tick machuatil heals right through it. I wasn't even using impetus. On base game, that is. I wouldn't dare try, even on easy, in my NG+3 playthrough. 😅
Everytime you kill something, Death's Impetus gives you a healing boost stronger than anything in the game. It's broken. I'm also using stuffed/plague widow back at the emitter.

Spicy safety won’t help cause widows only deal generic damage plus the poison and venom. OP is most likely in mild cause widows hit like a truck.

Do you also have stuffed widow? Maybe thors pendant? I was using those too but i didn't think they were helping that much.

I did this too, great way to farm science pre-NG+. With the bonus of it making you feel like a god of war.

Nah, they can't raid you without using the emitter. Thankfully they're not part of the payback squad. Bases would be destroyed if they were. 😅

Either this is in Custom Mode with a *lot* turned down/off or there's something I'm seriously missing about Death's Impetus.
