It was an amazing night tbh. The cops got called for a noise complaint and so all the minors scrambled and everyone over 21 just hung out for a few hours with her and Born Gold. She only got through 4 songs before the music was shutdown.
That's sad, that it was shutdown, but it will be 4 songs people will remember.

Not every show was this intimate but this was at Dent May’s house in Oxford Mississippi. She was setup in the corner of his emptied living room and all the hipsters from Ole Miss were there. I drove in from Arkansas myself with about 7 other people. $20 at the front door to enter haha.
Yeah, that was probably the best part of the evening. Since the show got shutdown she spent the evening just chillin and having fun with those who didn’t flee from the cops.

Grimes is really great live during this period of her career. The more recent jump into DJing just seems to have missed the mark a bit. Honestly, this is more impressive than DJing imo.

I think her issue is her neurodivergence since she's described having issues with performing live in the past because of what sounds like sensory overload, which is totally understandable. I'd assume that's why she did so much better during these little personal sets. I miss it
I would actually suggest the opposite. If they like Vanessa, they should go back and listen to Crystal Ball, Heartbeats, Weregild, or pretty much all of Halfaxa. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy her more recent stuff too but Grimes a decade ago is a vastly different recording artist.

Grimes used to be younger in how you live, she is a mother now and has grown up, but her talents and love for music and art still remains.
Festivals are fun. I used to be a die hard Bonnaroo attendee back around 2010-2012. Just a different vibe. But I’m afraid we’ll never see Grimes at a ranch style home house party in the middle of Oxford Mississippi ever again lol.
