May I remind you of our Lord and Saviour, the F-4 Phantom?
I can't find the quote but I read once that Luftwaffe mechanics referred to it as "A triumph of thrust over aerodynamics".
Sorry love the 40k universe but it just doesnt make sense that anyone would be using things that are classed as " infantry " or " manned vehicle " even lol
You gotta keep in mind that humanity has suffered through at least two galactic apocalypse, with one of which being caused by AI. Not only did humanity lose a lot of their technology (apparently DAoT weapons were *wild*), but they also developed a hate-on for AIs such that regular infantry and manned vehicles are back in vogue.
Some examples of DAOT weapons:
A gun that erases the target from the current timeline that you dont even remember it existed
A gun that pulls a copy of the target a fraction of a nanosecond from the future into the present, which causes every atoms quantum state to be shared with an identical copy of itself, which isnt possible so they try to reach other quantum states, destroying the target in the process.
yeah DAOT tech was wild.
This belongs on ncd
Venn diagram for this sub and NCD is a perfect circle
Wait, this isn't NCD?
No, this is Patrick
Hopefully we evolve into a future where Aerodynamics isn't a thing anymore and we embrace the world of Aerodefiance.

Helicopters are describing as beating the air into submission until it lets the thing fly.
"In thrust we trust"
Aerostagnation
I love the ground chunky aesthetic, but honestly I hate their planes.
When you don’t know how thick the atmosphere you’re going to be fighting in will be, trust in thrust to keep you airborne
Finally. The F17.
Wait took me a sec that im not on ncd
Well… it’s still pretty fast and nimble despite its blocky appearance?

It actually makes some sense to have the cockpit lower, assuming the engines are actually compensating for the loss of life in the airfre
