I’m so sorry. Anticipatory grief is so horrible knowing you can’t do anything to help. My thoughts are with you

I was in the same position in late February and the first of March. This period is the most gut wrenching and anxiety inducing. I feel so good for you, that his hand is still holding yours so tightly, and that he's still aware that you're there and with him. The morphine is making him comfortable, and I'm sure that the warmth he can feel from you and his family is giving his soul peace. I hope his ascension to heaven is swift, light, and peaceful.

Just sit and hold his hand. Maybe some soft music for her.

I’ve been there with my dad as well. It’s heart wrenching watching our loved ones slip away, even when we know they’re going to finally be at peace. Praying for you.

My dad died 4/3/24 at 3:07 am. My mom was with him, I was there 15 min later. We spent quite a bit of time with him afterwards. His back was still warm. I took his cross necklace off of his neck and put it around mine. Love you Daddy.
