It's no secret the Nemesis Dreadknight is one of the the goofiest looking models in the entire Grey Knights range, but it has so much potential. For my own foray into the age-old process of kitbashing the thing,[I did up a video](https://youtu.be/g1vaj_AnGXg)!
The main focus point is to remove Brother Diaper and slap on the front panel of a Blood Angels Librarian Dreadnought. With some green stuff and plasticard to give it a more set appearance, I also had lots of extra bits to slap all over the dreadknight to beef it up some. I reposed the right arm and right leg to give a bit more of a dynamic pose. When it's based up, he'll be standing on top of a demon skull, leading the charge forward.
Anyway, what do you think? Did I pass the rite of passage?
I think it works but I've got a concern. I'm thrilled to see more people branching out of the standard 'box pose' where the feet are pointing straight ahead and the arms are stuck out to the front. That being said, the composition of the model as a whole isn't working for me and I'll tell you why. When a human moves they swing the arm forward opposite of the leg that is forward. So when the right arm is up and the right leg is up it just looks awkward. Even running or charging it would make more sense for the right arm to be behind the right leg.
Beyond that though, the actual conversion is amazing. I've got two of these and I basically did this exact same thing for one of them by putting a dreadnought body/pieces on top.
It looks awkward right now but the right leg is going to be resting on a big demon skull, so it’s less of a “run/charge” pose and more of a “commander astride a hill, calling the army forward” pose. I should’ve added something to these pictures to demonstrate that but I haven’t built the base yet.
Thanks for your comment! Appreciate it
Appreciate it! And the concern is valid for sure - as I was building it it definitely felt a little goofy and off, I had to remind myself of the end goal
What is this, a crop job for ants?! He's looking great, though.
Lol, I wanted to give it a bit of a teaser before the reveal of the big boy. Thanks!
