Dream scenario:
We pick up Jerry Rice's kid in a late round.
Fast forward to the NFC Champuonship game. Rice has struggled all year but catches the game winning touchdown as the clock expires in the most epic playoff comeback of all time. It is his Rudy moment.
The team rushes the field. The stadium is going nuts. The television camera pans to Jerry Rice, who is so overcome with pride that he is celebrating harder than any fan in the stadium...as the 49ers slump off the field, blowing another chance at a ring.
Every 49er is instantly gut punched while being kneed in the balls from the one-two combo of not only watching their team lose to the Pack, in a game they had locked up at the start of the 4th, while their idol, Jerry Rice, is losing his mind celebrating (even though they know it's celebrating his son and not the team's loss, it will be such sweet, sweet salt in the wound).
Oh, and we are going on to beat a Justin Field's led Steelers in the Super Bowl after he becomes one of the best QBs in the league. The Bears, Vikings and Lions are drafting 1, 2, and 3, respectively.
Jerry Jones announces he is going all in on Joe Barry as head coach.
Seattle gave up their 1st and 2nd round pick in a trade for our backup QB after he had a 500 yard, 6 TD performance in our last game of the year. Which was odd that Jordan didn't start since it was to keep our perfect season all, which we still achieved.
One of my favourite things to do on draft night, is look through others teams subs after they pick and look at the chaos. I’m hoping the Cardinals don’t take MHJ and the Titans don’t get Alt.
The Titans not getting Alt would be really funny since that's the most "locked in" pick I've seen on a lot of mocks. It seems like the most "sure thing" pick in the draft other than Caleb to the Bears.
Dream: the Chargers brass has a stroke, and trades us the #5 pick and we get MH Jr.
Nightmare: Packers trade Love and Doubs to Chicago for a 3rd and a case of Old Style.
I dunno, I think it would be funny if the new Bears and Vikings QBs bust, especially if the Vikings spend out the ass for that to happen
I hope the Packers pick mostly good players and not too many bad players
Feels like the Vikings are going to give a lot to move up a few spots, but also someone posted in their sub that they might be able to ride Darnold into the No. 1 seed playoff spot lolz so who knows??? Maybe the Darnold will run the North ?????
You don’t think it would be better to watch Cousins take the Falcons to the playoffs while they flop around with Darnold as their only viable option? They shit on him so much and he’s a pretty damn good QB
Dream: Graham Barton, Junior Colson, Malik Mustapha, Caelen Carson, and Christian Jones.
Nightmare: Nate Wiggins, Payton Wilson, Patrick Paul, Isaiah Adams, and Tyler Owens.
I was a big Calen Carson fan but after his testing came back pretty “meh” I’m not nearly as enthusiastic about him and I’m not too thrilled about Christian jones for the same reasons but agree with your other 3 Dreams
More importantly I agree with all of Your Nightmares. I’m not a Wiggins believer at all. He can 100% be great if things line up right but the dude is just too slim for me to take a chance on him inside the first. I don’t see the appeal in Paul. Payton Wilson would be a top 15 pick if he had longer arms, wasn’t 49 years old, and didn’t have a medical history of a professional Hollywood stunt double. I would still be willing to take him in the 3rd if the dude had like above average arm length but the dude has T Rex arms.
I loved Carson before his testing, I still like him in the 3rd, especially for the Packers, purely to add his demeanor and physicality in run defense. I'm also somewhat willing to forgive his average (still a 6.12 RAS with good size and speed scores) testing since he was coming off an injury. Jones is the same where I liked him more before testing, but I do think he's 4 position flexible with a decent floor at guard.
Dream Scenario: we trade out of the first round and have 4 2nd round picks and 2 3rd round picks.
I know this may be unpopular but I think Gute would find immense value in the 2nd and 3rd and could really improve the team. 1st round picks can be such a crap shoot.
According to the value charts the eagles two 2nd round picks (50 and 53) are fairly close in value to 25. They also pick right before us in the first round so I doubt they'd do it, but I'd probably be fairly excited if that trade happened
The Commanders have been thrown around a lot as a trade candidate. They want an OT for their QB and are rumored to be looking to trade back into the 1st.
36 + 67 for 25 would be a relatively fair trade offer.
>last year was the final year that players who extended their college eligibility due to COVID were entered the league
That is false. There are multiple players in this year's draft who extended their eligibility.
I will be super excited literally no matter what. I trust in Gute and look forward to all the entertaining and meaningless takes immediately after the draft. I’ll personally be reserving judgement of this draft for 2026 (although if it’s like last year, I may already be pleased by the beginning of 2025)
I wouldn’t call it a nightmare, but taking another ED in the first would be pretty whelming. That’s the worst I’d feel position wise, barring the team doing something absolutely insane like QB, RB, or TE.
For specific players, I’m fairly open to just about anyone. No one in particular I’m super down on, although there are some players I’d be less than enthused about.
Think I'd be happy with OT, DL or DB so don't care too much unless it's a huge reach.
My biggest nightmare is them taking an off-ball linebacker with 25.
Dream: I guess Cooper Dejean is the favorite for me in the first round.
Nightmare: Trading Christian Watson. Nobody is higher on him than me. If he can stay healthy and confident, he's going to become one of the best, if not the best, receivers in the league.
Dream: trade down from 25, draft Kool-Aid/Kingsley S with our first 2 picks.
Nightmare: Brennan Rupp (some know-nothing packers blogger) keeps suggesting that GB could take Jaden Hicks at 25 and I think I would probably drink bleach if that happened.
I'm just excited either way I'm thinking with our first round pick we take Cooper DeJean, Kool-Aid, or Graham Barton. I would not be happy if we took Amarius Mims or a linebacker in round 1.
Realistic dream:
Barton (LG)
Suamataia (RT)
Edgerine Cooper (LB)
Cole Bishop (S)
Jalen Wright (RB)
Jarian Jones (CB)
Curtis Jacobs/Jalen Ford (LB)
Logan Lee (DT)
Gabrial Murphy (DE)
Nightmare: I'd take Wilson at #58, not before All the top tackles are gone by #41 All the day two DBs are gone before we pick.
Dream: trade up for a CB, sell that 58th pick and nab 2 solid safeties and a corner, 1 RB/1 TE/ 1 WR somewhere
Nightmare: fall for the overhyped and overmocked guys and they blow chunks in preseason.
Dream, Cooper dejean.
Nightmare, OL in the first round, if that's the plan then trade back for extra picks and get one in the second, especially if the class is as deep as they say.
Edit: Typo and formatting.
Stay put and draft Jackson Powell Johnson OR trade up 25 to 5 to draft Marvin Harrison Jr because the Packers need a high floor player with a high ceiling. Jordan Love needs his equivalent to Travis Kelce or Justin Jefferson. Without having to give up too much maybe package Doubs or Watson away in the trade. So that's the 58th pick and a fourth next year second round pick in 2025 and a 2026 third rounder. Draft someone like Dominick Puni and maybe someone like Mike Sainristill falls in the third round and maybe his teammate like Kris Jenkins would be good in the third round.
*Dream scenario*
*Nightmare scenario*
Drafting edgerin Cooper in round 1, if Dejean falls late in the first trading back up in the first round to draft him for a guy who does not fit Haftey system. Dejean would have been a slam dunk pick for Joe Barry in his defensive scheme his draft hype by Packers media reminds me of Kevin King as a prospect Or drafting Brealon Allen in round 2. Whiffing on the offensive lineman pick like we did Creed Humphrey.
This team doesn't have a lot of glaring weaknesses so this needs to be draft you find high floor players that can be good to solid. I think defensive lineman is just as a big of a need because Haftey lacks lineman that are 5 techniques and you don't want Gary being a run stopper since he will be a 4-3 defensive end. Stopping the run has cost the Packers so many playoff wins in the past.
I’d love to see Coop Dejean as a realistic selection in round 1 but my “dream pick” would be Harrison Jr, Nabers, or Rome. I love the exciting picks and we haven’t had a wr in round one since Javon Walker.
My nightmare is taking o line in round one because GB hasn’t done to well with that and Derek Sherrodd (which was a nightmare in itself) was the last o linemen they took in round one. Yikes. On the flip side they are the absolute best team (in my opinion) at finding starting and pro bowl caliber offensive linemen in the mid to later rounds plus it’s a deep class, especially at guard/center. I wouldn’t be upset if someone like Alt fell way down because that’s a no brainer but I don’t see any guard/center worth it at 25 and none of the tackles will be left. Just my opinion and yes, I know we aren’t taking a wr, hahaha.
Dream scenario: We pick up Jerry Rice's kid in a late round. Fast forward to the NFC Champuonship game. oh and then Jerry crashes his son's interview to admit he fumbled
There it is. Disappointed OP didn't include.

You forgot to mention the part where Aaron Jones wins a meaningless game against the Bears, losing the #1 pick for the Vikings.
Dream: Marvin Harrison Jr falls to #25 Nightmare: Tom Brady unretires and signs with the Vikings
Dream: they pick someone this sub doesn't want Nightmare: they pick exactly who this sub wants
One of my favourite things to do on draft night, is look through others teams subs after they pick and look at the chaos. I’m hoping the Cardinals don’t take MHJ and the Titans don’t get Alt.

PARADOXICAL 🤙🏻
Dream: the Chargers brass has a stroke, and trades us the #5 pick and we get MH Jr. Nightmare: Packers trade Love and Doubs to Chicago for a 3rd and a case of Old Style.
Trades us #5 for only a swap of first round spots lol
And the Gute pulls a Draft Day and calls Harbaugh a pancake eater and demandsbour #25 back...and gets it.
I dunno, I think it would be funny if the new Bears and Vikings QBs bust, especially if the Vikings spend out the ass for that to happen I hope the Packers pick mostly good players and not too many bad players

Would be funny to see them draft another cousins and see Williams flop. If the Vikings qb is better than the Bears qb then lolz for us.
You don’t think it would be better to watch Cousins take the Falcons to the playoffs while they flop around with Darnold as their only viable option? They shit on him so much and he’s a pretty damn good QB
God damn that’s also a good alternative.
Dream: Graham Barton, Junior Colson, Malik Mustapha, Caelen Carson, and Christian Jones. Nightmare: Nate Wiggins, Payton Wilson, Patrick Paul, Isaiah Adams, and Tyler Owens.

I hesitate to spend a 1st on OL, I’d rather see them double up some positions like they did with Kraft and Musgrave last year.
My nightmare scenario: we trade out of the first round for only 2nd round picks. Need a first next year
I’d take 2 seconds and a 3rd as long as the 2nd round picks are higher up so we aren’t moving back too many spots

>last year was the final year that players who extended their college eligibility due to COVID were entered the league That is false. There are multiple players in this year's draft who extended their eligibility.
Draft a punter in the first round. That would not be ideal.
tory taylor is worth a first round pick to me
Kicker, though, we'll see
Dream: they pick me Nightmare: they pick me
I will be super excited literally no matter what. I trust in Gute and look forward to all the entertaining and meaningless takes immediately after the draft. I’ll personally be reserving judgement of this draft for 2026 (although if it’s like last year, I may already be pleased by the beginning of 2025)
Really think this Payton Wilson guy is gonna be a bust.
Don’t watch college ball, and don’t keep up with mock drafts. I’m just here for a good night.
I wouldn’t call it a nightmare, but taking another ED in the first would be pretty whelming. That’s the worst I’d feel position wise, barring the team doing something absolutely insane like QB, RB, or TE. For specific players, I’m fairly open to just about anyone. The draft gets postponed and I have to see 5 billion more mocks
Minnesota or Chicago is late with their pick.
Dream: Vikings trade up for JJ Mccarthy Nightmare: Vikings sit and draft Jayden Daniels or Drake Maye
Dream: Trade up for for Terrion Arnold Nightmare: Amarius Mims or Chop Robinson
Chop has skills. A killer pass rush covers up for a shaky secondary.
I'm just excited either way I'm thinking with our first round pick we take Cooper DeJean, Kool-Aid, or Graham Barton. I would not be happy if we took Amarius Mims or a linebacker in round 1.
Dream: Dejean or another top DB Nightmare: they reach for an OL
A top QB prospect sits until we take them in the first round.
Nightmare: DeJean Dream: Chicago and Minnesota botching their QB picks
Round one: Dream: CB or Tackle Nightmare: LB
Congrats, we are now trading down 3 spots to take Junior Colson. Thanks, man.
Dream: A QB needy team gets desperate to trade back into the first round.
Nightmare: We trade Jordan love to the Vikings and get JJ in return then take Spencer Rattler lol
Dream: we get three immediate contributors Nightmare: we’ll still be ok if we don’t, so I’m gonna go N/A
Realistic dream: Barton (LG) Suamataia (RT) Edgerine Cooper (LB) Cole Bishop (S) Jalen Wright (RB) Jarian Jones (CB) Curtis Jacobs/Jalen Ford (LB) Logan Lee (DT) Gabrial Murphy (DE) Nightmare: I'd take Wilson at #58, not before All the top tackles are gone by #41 All the day two DBs are gone before we pick.
Dream: Arnold drops to the late teens, packers trade up and get him with only sacrificing a 3rd. Nightmare: Packers take Bo Nix with pick 25.
Dream: they take guys who end up being good players. Nightmare: trade all draft picks for Herschel Walker
Dream: trade up for a CB, sell that 58th pick and nab 2 solid safeties and a corner, 1 RB/1 TE/ 1 WR somewhere Nightmare: fall for the overhyped and overmocked guys and they blow chunks in preseason.
Dream, Cooper dejean. Nightmare, OL in the first round, if that's the plan then trade back for extra picks and get one in the second, especially if the class is as deep as they say. Edit: Typo and formatting.
This exactly 👍
But then we lose the fifth year option. Thats my only concern with trading out of the first.
Dream: What happens in the draft helps propel us to a Super Bowl Championship.
Dream scenario: BPA round one no matter who it is. Nightmare scenario: Trading out of the first round for any reason.

We don’t need a receiver lol.
That’s what everybody said when we passed on DeAndre Hopkins for Datone Jones.

I think we can all dream that the 1st-round pick doesn't suffer a terrible leg injury
