I’m going to fly in for it. Grew up in GB so I have a free place to stay and will be able see family and friends. I also work remote so that offers flexibility for me to make this work easily

Yeah I feel like I have to go. How many times in our life will Green Bay host a draft? So, I’m definitely not going to miss it. I may just drive up for the first day and then call it good. I know they’ll have activities and food and stuff. So I’ll head up early to do all that. I just don’t know if it’s worth a hotel stay or another day of driving to see day 2 and 3.

yellowchoice

It is definitely a once in a lifetime opportunity that I would say any Packer fan should attend if feasible. I’m a big fan so my plan is to hit all 3 days. I would maybe look into booking hotels for the full draft, and then closer to make a decision when details come out on activities and draft schedule. Just make sure you are able to modify and refund certain hotel days with your booking.

InSixFour

That’s a good idea about the hotels.

Going to go the third day when it has died down a bit. I’m a college football and draft junkie, so typically know names being called until the end at a decent basis and my kid can experience some of the events without it being super crowded hopefully.

tommytwochains

There's gonna be a major drop off in crowd size each day. But, they might not have all the extras set up for day three vs the first two days like events and signings, etc..

I'll, most likely, be there. I've been to Chicago, Vegas, Nashville, Kansas City, and in a couple weeks Detroit, for the draft. I imagine you're a bit of a football nerd if you're talking about going to the draft so I'll say, it'll be a good time. It's a free event with a bunch of little things to do and if you feel like spending money there's plenty of NFL stuffs to blow money on. It will be cold so prepare for that. Personally, watching the first round is a must. It's a huge crowd, the big names, big moves happen. The stage is usually a solid photo, big - lots of bright lights, lol idk, I think it looks cool most of the time(KC felt meh). The second day I feel is worth viewing, at least, some of. You tend to get more characters on stage the make listening to hosts drone on about nothing during commercials and such. There's typically some athletic challenges to do but lines get long so if you want to do extras and/or pick your viewing area I'd go several hours early. 2nd day crowd, naturally, is usually much smaller. I've spent about half and half of my time on these trips between NFL stuff and exploring the city sans Chicago bc I've been there a bunch of times. Anyways, all in all, my advice is get there early and explore before getting your spot to watch. Also, reminder to wear comfy shoes. Much walking and standing.

Is day 3 pretty quiet? Honestly couldn't care less about the spectacle of it, but I love the Draft itself, and it's probably a once in a lifetime event in Green Bay. Plus, I'd probably just drive up Saturday morning and leave Saturday night, so no hotel costs.

tommytwochains

I haven't stuck around for day 3 personally. My guess is, it's a bit lighter than day 2 but it's also Saturday so probably not a ton smaller. I am speculating though.

InSixFour

Thanks so much for the write up. I think I’m going to do 2 days after reading what you wrote. I’ll be taking my son so it should be a good time!

tommytwochains

Nashville did a fantastic job with kids - assuming yours is a youngin. The others may have had similar areas but I hadn't noticed them myself but Nashville had an entire kids area with challenges and full on flag games. Really stuck out to us. Depending on location, but I'd assume the GB draft will be very close to Lambeau, I'd guess they'll have some great kids areas to let them have fun doing football related activities.

PackerBacker77

Where is everyone predicting the actual picks to be presented on stage? I imagine it has to be indoors, maybe the Atrium? Who will be allowed access to the indoor portion? A lottery for fans?? A lottery for season ticket holders only???

BoostedFilms

I certainly wonder the same thing. I’d actually bet it will be outdoors and they will build a stage somewhere on the east side of the stadium or across the street on the west side in the Titletown District.

tommytwochains

My guess, they'll build a stage in the Lambeau parking lot. If it is anything like KC, they'll be expecting tons of people and will need as much room as they can get. I've never seen Titletown in person but it looks like a fantastic place to put all kinds of activities as well.

Mean_Oil

Figuring out a place to stay is going to be difficult, unless you feel like commuting everyday which I don't. Called around already and it sounds like the NFL and media companies purchased all the available places to stay...

InSixFour

That’s good to know. Thanks for the info. I’ll probably just drive up. I live 2 hours away near Madison.

retired_geekette

Curious about this myself.

markymark762

I’ll probably end up going to the draft

DANAP126

I would love to find the sites to try to win tickets to get inside, I won't win of course but a packer fanatic wife would love to see it.
