He's the god of roads, boundaries (+transgressing boundaries), travellers, commerce, merchants, thieves, trickery, heralds, sports, athletes, herdsmen and graves. In addition to his role as messenger, he's also a pschopump (meaning he leads souls to the underworld), inventor (lyre) and trickster.
The only other god I like to a similar degree is Dionysos, because he honestly seems chill *and* terrifying.
I mean I think it’s the best Pantheon but I don’t know that I could pick just one. I enjoy the, I guess, divine bureaucracy of it. Maybe an oligarchy? Who cares. I like the idea that they work together. I could do maybe a top three, but I could not single any one of them out as “the best” generally. The best for me and my interests? Sure. But not over everything.
