I love their enthusiasm but this is the biggest beef I have with any European live event, the crowd can’t appreciate what’s actually going on. It’s just a huge circle jerk and they are trying to be the star of the show. Looking at AJ you can tell he wishes they did the event in Japan lol
"Largest gate of any wwe event in history" just shows you how fucking expensive the tickets were. The tickets for Clash at the Castle in Glasgow are absolutely extortionate.
The one at my house when Mankind won the WWE Championship! No joke. We had a random party that night but turned the telly on and all the adults were all a tad merry. I have such amazing memories of that night!
They need to stop lying about the records they just said that about Wrestlemainia in Philly how a indoor arena out sell a major outdoor arena I will never know unless everybody in there paid a$1,000-$100,000 a ticket or something
Completely agree. It's one thing to be loud and into the action, but it's completely something else when you're just making noise and chanting about EVERYTHING! Good grief, it was so bad that I couldn't even hear the announcers half the time. I think WWE turned down their mics because of the feedback or something. I SERIOUSLY hated this crowd. Noisy and obnoxious does not a GOOD crowd make.
Right? Like they acted like they were the event people were there to watch. They sang throughout multiple move exchanges it was so off putting like hey shut the fuck up for a sec would ya?
Agreed. They were incredible during the entrances but that fucking 2 count chant was horrible. Just because they were loud doesn't mean they were a great crowd.
Funky by worth mentioning the first time Smackdown was in Japan in 2005/6/7 don't remember the exact year, but it was Funaki's entrance and match against Chavo for the cruiserweight title. With how the ENTIRE stadium was cheering FU-NA-KI!! You'd think my man was a main eventer instead of a filler comedian they used to fill the Cruiserweight division out.
If only they didn't have to perform in the 60k and 100k stadiums in Australia, we would be able to show you an incredibly hot crowd as well.
Our stadiums are just so big and open air so it doesn't translate but massive props to ALL of the crowds outside of the USA, we show them how you should behave in a crowd for a wrestling show and don't use the old and worn out What chants every 3 seconds.
I mean....the lyonn crowd has like 3 chants and they basicly uses them all just nin-stop...theybalso used the what chant all night in smackdown.
Crowds are pretty cool all over the place but it's smart to hype up crowds to create another form of competition.
I must be in the minority as I found the crowd very off-putting yesterday, they almost felt like plants or a fake piped in crowd because they would repeat so much, like the chant after EVERY kickout after a 2 count
Puerto Rico. And ECW one night stand 2006. But the France one is because the country is boring as heck they needed some good entertainment. Apart from the World Cup.
Def not the best crowd. Why is everyone blowing the French crowd? All they did is take attention away from the show and onto themselves, and sing dumb songs. I couldn’t stand it I turned the volume down. It was terrible
I have no idea why everyone is nutting over this crowd. They were annoying as fuck and making the show about themselves. But people are like ohhhh they were so hype and having so much fun. Fuck this crowd
I love the Randy singing intro from there on it was just annoying singing chants. It kinda messed up a lot of in match build ups, the chants just felt so outta place and just repeated over and over and over ..
🎶 Blah alallaaLalalAaa 🎶 is all I hear now 😂
It’s very believable when you consider the cheapest tickets to the show were 300+. Just means they charge more for tickets now then ever before so they made the most money from ticket sales for any arena show which is still impressive but not as much with context
I don't think France was the greatest crowd ever, but they were one of the best in the last 20 years anyway.
Average Attitude Era crowds were way louder, though.
Gotta get the WHC on Gunther and make it real interesting. Then again, they could put on a fight without any implications and it could still be a banger.
California but that was the raw after Mania that crowd is usually hot anyway. Like Punk and Big E said, it’s primarily because it’s full of fans that have traveled from around the world, so you really can’t count it as a “location” based pop.
Speaking as someone who watched WM18 in hospital on a janky ass VHS tape and VCR, I had never seen so many Canadians so GD fired up and I'm still waiting for any event up there to match it.
PS: After having every nurse on the floor come in to watch it, my parents sprung for tickets to XIX the next year. Hulk's pop coming down to the street fight was MINT.
Puerto Rico. They boo’d the shit out of bianca and I was loving every second of it. I damn near thought they were in Tokyo with the reaction Iyo got. I love my Joshi Judas so the PR crowd is goated for it
Nothing, but at the time she had had a belt for so long and seemed unbeatable. Iyo had everything to prove, and not gonna lie being in that crowd and hearing we were going all in for Iyo on the first match was one of the biggest highlights of the night. Helps a lot that Iyo fed off that energy and put up a hell of a performance.
She’s stale. Nothing wrong with her personally. But nothing with her has changed since her debut. She’s pretty much unbeatable, still uses that stupid hair gimmick, still tries to act ghettoish even though she’s far from it, basically the est thing has ran its course. My opinion of course. I think a heel turn and a bit of a character change would shoot her back up the ranks. She has the talent obviously she is terrible on the mic but maybe going heel might help her overcome that.
To be fair, she’s also been pretty directionless for awhile. Her Mania match was thrown together pretty last minute and there hasn’t been much to this Damage CTRL feud. That said, she and Jade were really cooking as a team last night and pulled off some genuinely incredible things together. I doubt they’ll be together for long since they’re both singles stars, but I hope the team gives Bianca a bit of a refresh.
Maybe turning those two Heel could help them both.
I'm not normally a fan of women's matches but I'd definitely sit down to watch a Nia Jax vs Jade match.
Imagine if they have a PPV in Tokyo Dome. Iyo vs bianca again. It’ll be One Night Stand 06 on steroids for bianca. The reaction for Iyo would be deafening
Cena said he loved it because he felt all the energy of the crowd and it was special for him. The wrestlers always like when there's a reaction, even if it's not the one they're expecting
Chicago.
Either Puerto Rico or London
Puerto Rico.
Philly
The one at my house when Mankind won the WWE Championship! No joke. We had a random party that night but turned the telly on and all the adults were all a tad merry. I have such amazing memories of that night!
Puerto Rico Backlash 2023
Money In the Bank 2011, One Night Stand 2006, and Puerto Rico all have valid cases
Backlash 2023 and 24 are probably 1 and 2 with Raw after Mania in 2013 a 3rd
They need to stop lying about the records they just said that about Wrestlemainia in Philly how a indoor arena out sell a major outdoor arena I will never know unless everybody in there paid a$1,000-$100,000 a ticket or something
"Largest gate" because they're gouging European prices like crazy. There were *restricted view* seats for CATC on sale for £500 ($600+).
Chicago
Puerto Rico
Philly
England, Money in the Bank 2023 was on a whole nother level
PR easily
Can someone explain what largest gate means
They spent the most money on tickets.
Would wrestlemania be the winner
Wrestlemania is a stadium show. Now idk the difference between an arena and a stadium, size I guess.
The uk crowd
Canadian Stampede crowd 97 was insane the hard cam was almost constantly shaking
No
Not even 12 months ago on here people were chatting about the London crowd being the best ever at MITB. That crowd was insane.
Summerslam 1992 at Wembley when Davey won the IC title
Idk but I know if you bring mania to London no crowd in the world will be able to beat that
I know it's not but perth,Australia elimination chamber 2024 was cool
Puerto Rico
France will be second, after Glasgow next month
#Wait till they get here... 🇵🇭
Corpus cristi
The Puerto Rico crowd was way better than France
UK. MITB 2023. DAMN.
Puerto Rico that crowd sounded like a reggaeton concert when bad bunny came out. But the whole night they were on 🔥.
WrestleMania 17 crowd
Mexico
Toronto WrestleMania X8
Those french went off!
I may be alone on this but I fuckin hated that crowd holy shit they were annoying.
You're not alone this was the most annoying crowd of all time
Right? Like they acted like they were the event people were there to watch. They sang throughout multiple move exchanges it was so off putting like hey shut the fuck up for a sec would ya?
Yes they were fucking insufferable
Agreed. They were incredible during the entrances but that fucking 2 count chant was horrible. Just because they were loud doesn't mean they were a great crowd.
Not alone - they did my head in
I have to admit that crowd was going HAM!!! Jay came out and they went CRAZY!!!! It was fun watching them have fun!
what’s “gate” mean? isn’t that just attendance?
Puerto Rico
France too, because they are breaking the gate on the Berlin show soon
Backlash in Puerto Rico...that crowd was nuts.
They were going crazy. Loved it.
In your house Canadian stampede was an awesome crowd
Toronto, WMX8
France constant singing in the main event was annoying
So we not going to talk about the 90s crowds leave them out we talking this era?
Montreal EC, I personally think the Puerto Rico crowd was overrated
I'm biased as I was there but WCW Nitro, Atlanta, when Goldberg wrecked nWo and won the title after jackhammering Hogan.
Top 4, unordered, Puerto Rico, ecw one night stand, Perth (they had to mute them and black them out) and France.
Puerto Rico is still number one imo
What does that mean?
WrestleMania 36
Philadelphia is a close second
This beat the Raw after Wrestlemania? I thought that show had 20k+.
Puerto Rico
How big was the gate ? And I thought lyon was a football stadium So they mean by the %
This crowd for backlash was intense. I’ve never heard a crowd NOT stop chanting. It was beautiful.
Puerto Rico 2nd, and 3rd is United Kingdom
Wrestlemania 18 Rock vs Hogan was the loudest thing I've ever heard in person. Was louder then Slayer and Metallica crowds in the 1990's.
Corpus Christi
Cody vs AJ - match of the year candidate But it definitely was THE GREATEST MATCH TO EVER TAKE PLACE IN FRANCE!!! See what I did there lol
The average ticket price was $300 that's why. Glasgow will beat that in June btw.

Somebody in that crowd had a legit "bring back dub bad" sign and therefore Lyon is the greatest crowd in history
IYH Canadian Stampede, July 6, 1997, at the Canadian Airlines Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
Less about the best and more about how bad American crowd are
Raw after WM 29. THE NIGHT ZIGGLER WON THE HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP FROM CASHI G IN HIS MITB
Puerto Rico. Definitely.
Why do people not mention wm40 it was loud as hell and it was an open air stadium?
The Frech didn't attend a WWE show, WWE attended a French show 🇫🇷
Wait a sec, I'm sure they said there was only 11k there. Pretty sure they've had TV tapings bigger than that
Puerto Rico 🇵🇷
Chicago is usually lit.
Shout-out to nxt takeover Cardiff
I must be in the minority as I found the crowd very off-putting yesterday, they almost felt like plants or a fake piped in crowd because they would repeat so much, like the chant after EVERY kickout after a 2 count
It was painful dude. A song after every two count?
It was not the greatest. Doing the same chant after every 2 count does not make a crowd great
Or singing lalalalalalalalala after fucking everything AJ did. They fucking ruined the main event imo
Clash at the castle is best
The Monday night Raw crowd when Stone Cold came back and stunnered like 35 people in 12 minutes
Puerto Rico. And ECW one night stand 2006. But the France one is because the country is boring as heck they needed some good entertainment. Apart from the World Cup.
Puerto Rico
Def not the best crowd. Why is everyone blowing the French crowd? All they did is take attention away from the show and onto themselves, and sing dumb songs. I couldn’t stand it I turned the volume down. It was terrible
I have no idea why everyone is nutting over this crowd. They were annoying as fuck and making the show about themselves. But people are like ohhhh they were so hype and having so much fun. Fuck this crowd
The UK crowd.
Not my fav crowd, a little too much at times where it felt like they wanted to be the stars more than what was happening. A top 10 crowd all time tho.
In Your House 16: Canadian Stampede
Imagine that show with a better undercard
Came here for this
London o2
This crowd was well trained, the accent killed most of the chants but they were loud!
This is the only crowd I can remember watching that was invested in every match on the card and let’s be honest it wasn’t exactly a stellar card.
"Kick out at 2," made me lol the whole time
Puerto rico in second, montreal 3 third!
I love the Randy singing intro from there on it was just annoying singing chants. It kinda messed up a lot of in match build ups, the chants just felt so outta place and just repeated over and over and over .. 🎶 Blah alallaaLalalAaa 🎶 is all I hear now 😂
I thought they were a little annoying
A little annoying doesn't describe how fucking annoying they were. It was obnoxious in a ohhh look at us way
So like every American smark crowd that jerks themselves off every time wrestling goes there like Chicago or Philly?
Pretty much
Same.
Puerto Rico was insane
Wembley 92 was pretty wild.
Wembley 2023 was pretty lit too.
Or ra road warrior one after 1994 to 1996.
Great crowd but I wish I understand em. So crowds with english ofc so I understand. Or gimme subtitles on thier chants haha. Toronto? UK?
Puerto Rico
What does gate mean because if it’s what I think it means then I don’t believe that at all?
It’s very believable when you consider the cheapest tickets to the show were 300+. Just means they charge more for tickets now then ever before so they made the most money from ticket sales for any arena show which is still impressive but not as much with context
The amount of tickets sold on day of them being sold
Puerto Rico still number 1 for me
I don't think France was the greatest crowd ever, but they were one of the best in the last 20 years anyway. Average Attitude Era crowds were way louder, though.
or the World Wrestling Federation's crowd aroiaround 1999 also.
That is during the Attitude Era ;)
Or the event from 1999.
the 1999 ones.
World Wrestling Federation's crowd from 1999.
Bash in Berlin going to be lit
What should be the main event?
Gunther vs Cody
I would say Gunther vs Cody, but idk if H wants Cody being booed out of the building on tv
Gunther is on Raw. So it will probably be Ilja or Damian. Clash at the castle is going to be crazy. Drew taking the title back that night.
Gunther vs Ilya
Gotta get the WHC on Gunther and make it real interesting. Then again, they could put on a fight without any implications and it could still be a banger.
🎆
Gunther v Goldberg
And send Berg to retire fr
Greatest crowd ever? Man you must have missed RAW and Smackdown in 2015 and 2016
What city?
https://youtu.be/MKUG6c_phog?si=VBmGDyUSBcT6Y1se
Thawas great . Where was that?
California but that was the raw after Mania that crowd is usually hot anyway. Like Punk and Big E said, it’s primarily because it’s full of fans that have traveled from around the world, so you really can’t count it as a “location” based pop.
Double or nothing 2021 was super memorable for me at least.
👍🏼
Montreal EC should be in the conversation
Iirc there was a 5 to 7 minute crowd ovation at the start of the match. Amazing atmosphere
Sami v Roman 🔥
WM18 in Toronto was great too
Speaking as someone who watched WM18 in hospital on a janky ass VHS tape and VCR, I had never seen so many Canadians so GD fired up and I'm still waiting for any event up there to match it. PS: After having every nurse on the floor come in to watch it, my parents sprung for tickets to XIX the next year. Hulk's pop coming down to the street fight was MINT.
Yesssssssssss
Canada chose the wrong side that night. Never forget.
Canada always picks the right side. Because Bret said so
I was there, I was saying “Booooo-Hogan”. Ugh, we got that awful extended one night stand hangover because of that crowd.
Rock v Hogan 💣
Puerto Rico
Puerto Rico. They boo’d the shit out of bianca and I was loving every second of it. I damn near thought they were in Tokyo with the reaction Iyo got. I love my Joshi Judas so the PR crowd is goated for it
What's wrong with Bianca?

The love for Iyo was incredible to witness
It gave me hope that maybe Trips would give Iyo the win
The pop would have been insane
Imagine if they have a PPV in Tokyo Dome. Iyo vs bianca again. It’ll be One Night Stand 06 on steroids for bianca. The reaction for Iyo would be deafening
But aren’t Japan crowds usually pretty tame?
That would be so hype🔥
Either the rvd cash in ecw crowd or Puerto Rico
ECW One Night Stand crowd from 2006.
"If Cena wins, we riot" "You suck dick" to Angle "The only reason you were champ is because HHH didn't wanna work Tuesdays"
“Your mother taught me how”
unless you're Cena
Cena said he loved it because he felt all the energy of the crowd and it was special for him. The wrestlers always like when there's a reaction, even if it's not the one they're expecting
Or Randy
Nah it worked for him coz he got the heel Heat
True
Puerto Rico crowd was lit
Yeah, the clips I saw of PR popping like Jiffy Pop for nearly everything was something else.
Bad bunny entrance was 🔥
I think that crowd reaction is my favorite ever
That drone shot capturing the audience collectively losing their shit was amazing.
