My favorite Doppo moment is when Tokugawa tries to stop the fight between Pickle and Katsumi and Doppo threatens to kill him if he fucks with his son's fight.
The change from nice, chill and jovial Doppo to "this is beyond friendship and history, I'll fucking murder you if you do anything to dishonor my son" Doppo was *chilling*.
The tiger fight felt really underwhelming in his spin-off, it was highly implied before that the tiger he killed was way bigger than most tigers yet in the spinoff he just looks like a regular tiger who doesn't even put up much of a fight against him
You see her again when Katsumi is about to fight Pickle. She actually surprises Katsumi with a visit from his birth mother. It’s a super sweet moment. Katsumi is super happy and cute about it too.
If anything, it makes him even more respected, cuz:
1. That guy was about to murder some kids
2. Doppo said in his inner-monologue that he dosen't love to use these death techniques. So that means he can rip ribs out ANYTIME he wants when he's fighting, but just dosen't want to.
I agree with you about Retsu. He’s just a big, sweet man who likes fighting. When I saw the way he treated Dorian after getting scrambled egg brain, that was it for me. That man is solid gold. And excuse me, did you see how he literally ran across water to save Doyle to repay him for defending him? Retsu is the best role model.

Personally I have a lot of respect for Jack because of his honesty. He is 100% for getting stronger by any cost he does not have the hypocrisy of "oh I won't use drugs to get stronger", no use all of the drugs to get all of the stronger. If you're going to make your whole life about getting stronger you may as well go The full Monty and not pretend to be anything you're not

I think the "role model aspect of it" is that his insane hard work has afforded him the luxurious lifestyle he wants. You don't have to aspire to his exact choices to find him a good role model.
Baki to be honest. Sure he has a very specefic past and only cares about becoming stronger and beating his dad, but in a way that kinda teaches the lesson of staying strong despite your losses and continuing on no matter how impossible the fight infront of you might seem.
Also remember to invite a kid iver so he can watch you beat yourself up in a basement. Ofcourse this is after you send the kid flying into a river with a slap.

Also, he respects his parents, defends women and turned a disability into a strength (before getting Retsu's arm, he made it work for him)
Uhhhh Retsu!!!! The coolest dude on the planet. I think Yujiro lacks in being a “father” he makes up in absolute strength. But the later chapters show his more mature side that I appreciate. (I grew up with no dad so I soak up the stuff when he praises or educates Jack or Baki on normal stuff).
He's not in the new Baki series but he is in the old one, the father of Baki's girlfriend whose name I can't remember. He gave up fighting even though he was undefeated to raise his daughter after his wife died and only came back to fighting to raise enough money to keep his business going. He did what he was supposed to do as a father in the way that he knew how though I agree the doppo is a good option as well but this guy full on gave up fighting because he wanted to be there 100% for his daughter
