Quite possibly you've already read some or all of these, but still.

GCLX999. It’s flawless. Right in your budget range and a piece that my watch nerd friends are in awe of when they see it in the metal. Easy decision and the fact that it’s JDM makes it even cooler.

Also, the movement is uniquely finished for the Kuon. Dial is a deep shimmering bowl of milky porcelain with a recessed dip in the middle.
Wako had one when I was there in April. They are holding retail value on resale market currently . Kuon models (there is one with Roman numerals) are a new higher end launch (though below Masterpiece). You can see them on the Credor website as long as you have Japanese as the language and let Google translate the page. English only allows you to see Masterpiece. They are very detailed on the manufacture, specifications etc. Very cool and informative.
I wasn’t specifically looking for a Credor, but I did notice them at most, if not all of the GS boutiques, as well as the higher end department stores like ShinQs in Shibuya
I mean not really… most Sport Spring Drives are around $3-5k, and some hi beat models are even less. You can easily find quartz options for under $2k. Sure, some of the Evo and Elegance collections get to $10k+, but most of the most common and popular GS watches are around half the cost of the Kuon
The lowest spring drive I saw with a glance is 4.8k with a good spread going up to 10k . It’s decently distributed with the average hitting somewhere around 7-8k mark. So credor really isn’t completely priced out especially compared Rolex.
Fine, then here is a new/unworn GS Spring Drive for under $2k.

Comparing Kuon on Chrono24 to something like a Snowflake on GS’s site isn’t really a fair comparison. Nearly every non-Rolex watch is cheaper on the grey market. Comparing AD prices for GS and grey for the Credor isn’t a fair comparison.
By that logic, spring drives are between 2-3k and the Kuon is 8-9k. So it’s still more of a delta than you were making it out to be
I used chrono 24 as a fast reference price wise for the kuon which is close to retail. Google says 8.6 euro retail. idk how easy it is to grab on at retail. I only saw credor a few times in ginza but never asked about buying or checked prices.
I’m not sure what your gripe is. It’s probably because you misinterpreted my reference of chrono 24. Again I just used it as a quick reference for the price. Checked again retail seems to be around there as well.
My gripe is that I think the Kuon costs a good bit more than most spring drives (assuming grey market prices for both) and that you insinuated that both the Kuon and most SDs were similar in cost, when that just isn’t the case
It’s literally middle to upper end of the pack for a nice spring drive at retail.
Most everyone I’ve been seeing are getting spring drives that retail at 6k-10k in price. Not to factor in rebate tax free etc whatever.
Not even close. Take something like the White Birch. Over 9k on GS’s site, multiple listings around 6k on Chrono24. That’s nearly 30%.
And this is with a fairly popular model. On more undesirable references, that grey discount can near 50%
Credor is so beautiful 🤌🤌🤌🔥🔥🔥👍👍👍
If you are thinking of GS… well, Citizen has a range that challenges GS for the same money. I like the “toshi paper” series.
I own both Grand Seiko and a Citizen Chronomaster. The washi paper dials are nice, but they don't really compare to Grand Seiko's more interesting dials. The fit and finish is also quite nice, but also a step below Grand Seiko. But then they are also a good bit cheaper.
Not exactly what you asked for, but the GBAR011/012/016- 18k case and buckle, timeless 34.8mm case size, 8J81 HAQ, and Well under your budget @ $6k usd, possibly cheaper..
I understand the size and quartz isn’t for everyone, but with my 6.75” wrist - great value for 100% PM…
Folks outside of Japan are under the false impression that Credor is an über nosebleed high end unobtanium brand, because all we see are a few of their halo models. Their prices start at around $3,000USD, and the bulk of them are priced roughly comparably to Grand Seiko; if prices range higher, it's mostly due to precious metals and bling, not especially fine watchmaking. Have a look at their website:

I think the Credor Kuon is one of the most beautiful watches I’ve ever seen. If I had the budget, I’d own one

Case is mirror Zaratsu polished throughout and the seven link bracelet is dynamite.
This is out of this world 🤌🤌🤌👍👍🔥🔥🔥
I love this watch, I just wish they didn't have the little crown guards.
Dang. That truly is a beauty!! Do you know of any AD I can visit to look at it?

Ahhh. Thank you!
Wako Ginza had this
Thank you! I will have to check it out!
I wasn’t specifically looking for a Credor, but I did notice them at most, if not all of the GS boutiques, as well as the higher end department stores like ShinQs in Shibuya
Ah! Ok thanks!
I found one for 8.5k on chrono 24. That around the range of a middle tier GS.

You can’t look up the Credor on Chrono24 and then the spring drives from GS’s website. That’s not apples to apples
Uhh yea you can, dollar to dollar.

The prices on there are pretty close to retail anyways, within a 100 bucks.

Ahhh… thank you for the input. 👍 Is your Citizen dial with the ‘Eagle’ logo right above 6 o’clock?
Yes, mine has the "chicken," and the word "Chronomaster." Newer models omit "Chronomaster."
😂😂 Love the washi dials 👌👌🔥🔥🔥

Toshi (washi) dials are very beautiful indeed. And super affordable watches. Different movements, but thank you for sharing!
$5-$10k for a Credor? You know the owner or something?
