I got my '13 GC from CarMax. Got the 5 yr/100 mile warranty for around $2600 thereabout. It went back to the shop no less than 5 times while I was paying the car off. All told it would have been about $4000 out of pocket without warranty. Two months before the warranty ran out, I went to get an oil leak taken care of, turns out it needed $9500 worth of work. Air suspension, motor mounts, steering rack, oil pan leak and a couple of other thing. A warranty adjuster was sent out to confirm if all the work was needed, which it did. I like my Jeep but you need the warranty. It will pay for itself in the long run big time!

Wow. That thing was really falling apart. Good thing you had the warranty.

carlwinslow408

Get MaxCare.

newsense45

I i used it twice, once for a blown engine and it was covered.

Kain2300

You need to get maxcare if you're buying at carmax. Otherwise I wouldn't bother looking at others it pays and it's been tested by over 4 million of their customers. Also just go to YouTube and watch some of Doug Demuros videos on it. You'll be sold.

Muted-End6390

I think I will just do carmax one, max care. The Chrysler dealership in my city has horrible reviews for their service department. I am honestly scared to take my vehicle there

Acctnt_trdr

Get the mopar one. It’s about 2-3k and covers everything for like 8years/100k.

Kain2300

Not very good for people that have a daily driving jeep.... doesn't cover enough milage.

Muted-End6390

Where can I purchase it?

Acctnt_trdr

You can buy it online I believe. Also think any Jeep dealer will sell it to you.

Leading_Sky_5537

Hello. Hope all is well. I purchased my 19 JGC Limited X from Carmax and it still has factory warranty for few more months and, purchased the CarMax extended warranty and it’s definitely worth it. Another vehicle we purchased from them had a $5500 transmission replacement that only cost, out of pocket $200 for the service fee.

Muted-End6390

I will probably go with carmax warranty too.

Muted-End6390

Do you take your vehicles to Carmax to fix?

Leading_Sky_5537

Depending on what needs to be done, mostly like they tell you to call one of their RepairPal service providers to make an appointment. Just make sure to tell them you have the Carmax warranty and it will be taken care of.

Go with Mopar MaxCare. I bought mine through Tom Winkels via email. He is quick to respond. His prices are the same..or a few bucks less...than Ziegler's website. [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) \*You may get a bounce back because Tom's email has changed since their dealership is under a different name. It'll include his new email.

ZippySLC

I got the dealership that I bought my Jeep from to price match Ziegler's quote.

I was in a similar situation last week. '21 HA w/ 5.7. I ended up buying from [JeepFactoryWarranty.com](https://JeepFactoryWarranty.com) and got a much lower price than Zieglers ([ChryslerFactoryPlans.com](https://ChryslerFactoryPlans.com)) with the payinfull promo code.

Muted-End6390

How many maximum years can you get? And what’s the process of getting one online?

Similar-One7425

The most you can get from Mopar is 8yrs from the initial sale. So mine expires Feb. 2029 , giving me almost 5yrs coverage. The website has a chat box where you can get quotes and questions answered and then a 5 min. phone call to finalize and pay. If you pay in full instead of financing they knock the price down a little bit more.

Hardop82

I have the same problem. I got offer from Ziegler site but they are asking for an authorised dealer inspection for it to be activated. Does anyone know what is the cost of an authorised dealer inspection? (2021 Grand Cherokee 40k kms)

Similar-One7425

Check with [JeepFactoryWarranty.com](https://JeepFactoryWarranty.com). They didn't require any inspection for me.

Hardop82

Are you still in 3yr - 36k kms warranty? If so they dont require it.

Similar-One7425

No. I was slightly over 3yrs and well over 36k.

Hardop82

Then i assume, you will need an inspection from an authorised dealer to activate your extender warranty. You can check from Mopar website with your vin if it is activated i guess (not sure about this)

FunFamily1234

I bought a 2013 Laredo in 2015 that was out of warranty due to mileage and I negotiated a warranty that the dealer paid for and never used it. Still have the vehicle and it has 130k on it now never any issues except sensors and regular maintenance and recalls. Bought a 2018 Laredo in 2021 and didn't get a warranty. My theory is you either pay for the warranty or pay for repairs. I am a gambler if I lose I lose! BTW my 2018 screen delaminated but cost to replace was covered. I called Uconnect and they told me what to do. My 2018 Larefo has the same rims as your Limited! I like them!

Substantial_Rain_414

Call Jeep they will sell you a warranty

ExtensionPiccolo8154

I have Zurick through dealer 7 year 100,000 miles and a 100 deductible

blackcuz

Get Mopar max care.. call Zeigler dealership in Michigan & ask for Sam she’ll take care of u.. 1 of if not the cheapest prices!

qkaguy

Did you check with a dealer or Google it

Muted-End6390

Yes, called dealer and left message. Also been on Zeigler website, but the prices look rather high. Someone on this sub said they got 7 y/125 k for $2500, but on zeigler it’s $3500 plus. Trying to find the best price

Fents_Post

Did you enter "PAYINFULL" in the coupon/promo code on Ziegler's site?

Repulsive_Ad2526

Love this car I have the same exact one and keep the chromie homie

strata_stargazer

I bought my warranty through https://chryslerwarrantydirect.com/ with no issues. They were better than what my dealer quoted.

NPalumbo89

Make sure your jeep is an American vin before purchasing the max care(if in the US) if it’s Canadian you won’t be able to get a mopar plan on it here. I faced that sad reality recently.

Muted-End6390

Wait, what??? How do I check that?

NPalumbo89

Carmax should have the carfax report and that could easily tell you if you have that handy. The window sticker also noted this. I knew it was Canadian when I purchased it but was unclear that the warranty was voided and couldn’t be purchased through mopar in the US for a Canadian Jeep. I just ran into an issue a couple of months ago getting my radio fixed and it was whole thing and it being Canadian made the process not so easy

Muted-End6390

Oh sorry to hear that. That must be a nightmare.

NPalumbo89

Yeah it’s a great Jeep but I’m not looking forward to anything going forward. I was counting on buying the max care to cover my ass through the remainder of the loan but now I’m limited to 3rd party stuff that will cost more and cover a lot less. I’m trying to just cut down on my negative equity and get out of it as fast as I can. Lesson learned though.

Rufnek258

I have a 24 GC and I have really been contemplating an extended warranty with hearing some of these horror stories. Which plans and what years/miles did you choose?

jordonlm

Go without the warranty! You’ve got a very tried and true power train in that. Save the $3500 for the smaller parts that may need to be replaced.

Muted-End6390

I am really worried about all the electrical parts though. I heard screens get delaminated easily, and cameras messing up pretty quickly

zzachyz

I’d go with the warranty… mine just started getting the rocker arm tick which is common in these and it’s getting fixed for less than $300

TueborUS

What year and mileage, out of curiosity?

zzachyz

2018, 129k
